I am so fascinated by Renee Rosnes’s beautiful and exciting tunes. I feel awful cause I have never heard of her until I discovered Artemis and since then I’ve just been checking out all of her music and her albums, and oh my gosh after discovering it, I have purchased like eight of her albums on CD so far and one vinyl pressing copy
Women instrumentalists in jazz never get the recognition they deserve and Renee Rosnes is a prime example. If there's a better jazz pianist to have emerged in the last thirty years I've yet to hear them.
Of Rosnes is a very fine pianist but there was Geri Allen-and there's a whole new crop of pianists that have come on the scene since Rosnes became known...think about it... 9-9-24.
This is absolutely f....ing amazing. I second all the comments about the relativi scar ity of world-class women jazz musicians. She's fantastic, and the DRUMMING's unbelievably tasty as well!!
She was part of Joe Henderson Quartet in the 80s (with Kim Clarke on bass), I've listened her playing with Joe on one of his best tune "Y Todavia La Quiero" ("Ya La Quiero"), it's on UA-cam.
You are amazing, Mogurin. I heard one of her recordings a number of years ago. A year later, I looked for her records, but didn't get her name right. Here it is! Thanks!
Recordame is such a lovely and sticky bossa beat rythm! Played in a delightful way by Miss Renee Rosnes, who happens to be Bill Charlap s wife another fine and delicate pianist!! A Hell of Team of Musicians:!By the way a read Schwimbob s appreciation of the tune! A question ?? Are a Musician or a Pianist??? Never Heard you playing? I m a Jazz critic since more than 50 years ! And I been around the Jazz scene! Check my name ! My Real Name in UA-cam! And Congratulations for having and ear out of this constellation!
Very nice playing. However, some obvious copy and paste happened in the studio (compare the piano solo starting at 2:11 with that at 7:47). It is note for note until the end of that section.
+schwimbob The poster mentions about 12 posts down the track was accidentally posted twice in a row on the video. It actually ends around 5:29 & repeats...

*I've been around a while, can't believe I'm just now discovering this gem of a woman in late 2022... I'm in Love*
You have a lot to listen i guess, she played a lot with Joe Henderson !
@@DVDKC Just discovering that... Mostly heard Joe playing with Freddie or solo, like for "Canyon Lady"
Check out Artemis as well if you hadn't already.
2024 here.
Yeah me too
After geri allen passed r.i.p. renee is the finest pianist still with us. Rosnes, hancock, jarrett, corea.
And Kenny B
I am sorry. The same track is played twice by my mistake editing.
Enjoy twice please! lol

Lol what? If you sound good, you'll be listened to. Sounds to me like you're confusing equality with equity
Kenny.

Renee is an amazing talent. She can play with anyone.
Renee!!! sounds great.
Nice discovery. Women in jazz (excepting singers) deserved more acknowledgement
Hereby acknowledged.
Bravo Renee
Renee's whole Black Narcissus album is such a fine & soulful offering, it lulls you into a deep meditative mood.
She is everything!
I love Renee the best your song
She is really great !!
Yes She really is !!
had the pleasure of seeing her at the BMW April14 in Baltimore Great show
The best version of Recorda-Me I’ve ever heard!
There is McCoy...
ビシッとキマってカッコ良い!
I dig this. Piano is such a beautiful melodious instrument. Nice groove here

Masterpiece
con esta pianista deseo reivindicar a todas las woman que son tan buenas como esta dama.-

That group can be heard on the paris bootleg cd Punkab recorded at bradley's san francisco with rosnes, sylvia cuensa, and kim clark.

schwimbob Whoa, nice catch!

Recorded in hi res? Better than CD
Some tight drumming, that really makes this piece, in my opinion. Two plays for one track. That's OK, Mogurin!
Thank you,Mr. ponderosa1850.
I will be glad if I was of any help.
Jeepers Creepers.
Bass line was in a different key... wot?
No. It's not.
