I miss these times, when new years in Time Square were full happiness and you could really feel the excitement of the new year coming. Now it's more focused on advertising then working on the countdown instead. I know that everyone has a different opinion, so don't be angry at me.
Me too, wouldn't be cool if there was a time remote control to go to past and future. If there were such thing as Time Remote Control, I would want to rewind back to 2007. 2007 was the best year ever in this decade.
The year 2001 will forever be remembered by many people for being the year when the September 11th terrorist attacks took place. Also, Dale Earnhardt, my favorite NASCAR driver, was killed in a crash at the Daytona 500 less than two months after the events in this video took place.
Well it was official that year. Congratulations humanity for making it that far into the future (even though a millennium is really just an arbitrary period of 1000 years and nothing more).
I don’t like the idea that 2001 started the new Millennium. 2000 just seems more fitting and makes more sense and isn’t an odd number. 2001 seems weird.(I’m not saying that 2001 wasn’t the start)
What a tragic year , and it wasent even my tragedy it was for thousands of other people and their families In New York , I just heard about it and lived through it.
For some reason, it seems that years like 1999 and 2000 were closer to the 80s and 70s than to 2017 or 2018. Wonder when the world fully changed as we know it right now. It may have something to do with technology. I also think that time didn’t change since 2008 as if we reached a plateau then and stopped there
2001 will begins the 21st century. 21st century is still starts until New Year's Eve 2100. But, 2000 is a new millennium. XBOX will launches on 11/15/01. Discontinued on 2009.
This means that year AD 1 directly followed year 1 BC, without the year count ever reaching zero. In other words, the first year of the anno domini era was year 1, not year 0. As a consequence, 1 full year had passed at the end of year 1; 2 years had passed at the end of year 2; and so on... So, at the end of year 1999, as people were celebrating the new millennium, only 1999 full years had passed since the beginning of the calendar era-which is one year short of two full millennia.
I personally remember 2001 very well, the time I got sick and vomited in my bed and vomiting 10 more times two weeks after this. Early 2001 was an uncomfortable time for me and will never be forgotten.
It just gives me chills to imagine how much fun all those people must've been having that night, not knowing what was to come.

Rest in peace Legend 🙏💙
The only year That I will never forget is the year 2000 because there was no war and the world was at peace :)
We'll I wouldn't say that, but I will say that 2000 was both a leap year AND a century year. Most century years are NOT leap years since they aren't divisible by 400.
The Year 2000 had to Finish before a new millennium could begin. Therefore- January 1 2001, at 12:00 AM, the next began.

The year that the first Harry Potter movie came out.
And shrek indeed.
The version of auld Lang syne makes it fitting for that year

The true first year of the 21st century and 3rd millennium. It was 20 years ago. I was 8 years old. The new year is my favorite holiday.

The year 2001 will forever be remembered by many people for being the year when the September 11th terrorist attacks took place. Also, Dale Earnhardt, my favorite NASCAR driver, was killed in a crash at the Daytona 500 less than two months after the events in this video took place.
This was the real beginning of the third millennium
Well it was official that year. Congratulations humanity for making it that far into the future (even though a millennium is really just an arbitrary period of 1000 years and nothing more).
8 months, 10 days later....
9 month 11 days later......
@@Legendary_godzilla_2004 9 months and 11 days is October 12 2001
@@cameron8529 thanks for correcting me but you’re late
20 Years Ago
Millennium turn, and 8.5 months later, the hype ends for good
and we gonna be in 2021!
9 months later we opened our eyes
The actual beginning of 21st century and 3rd mellinnium
No doubt that at least some of the people there at Times Square worked at the WTC, unaware of what’s to come.
I don’t like the idea that 2001 started the new Millennium. 2000 just seems more fitting and makes more sense and isn’t an odd number. 2001 seems weird.(I’m not saying that 2001 wasn’t the start)
f89ry7 PS4 me neither.
f89ry7 PS4 2000 is the new millennium.
Troy Lion Ya. Deep down inside it’s 2000.
f89ry7 PS4 1999 is the last year of the 2nd millennium.
historian.wikia.com/wiki/2nd_millennium.
f89ry7 PS4 ignore those idiots that say 2001 is the new millennium (not correct) it’s 2000, 2001 is an opinion.
The crazy thing is that..
This was 22 years ago..
What a tragic year , and it wasent even my tragedy it was for thousands of other people and their families In New York , I just heard about it and lived through it.
In 2001, The Fairly odd Parents aired.
The Fairly OddParents premiered on Nickelodeon on Friday March 30th, 2001.

Nice.
This is when the millennium actually started by the way
For some reason, it seems that years like 1999 and 2000 were closer to the 80s and 70s than to 2017 or 2018.
*LAST YEAR* of 2000s 2009.
@@NOEocheonstn, But the last year of the 201st decade AD was in the year 2010.
2000 is not a millennium it belongs to 2nd millennium.
This means that year AD 1 directly followed year 1 BC, without the year count ever reaching zero. In other words, the first year of the anno domini era was year 1, not year 0. As a consequence,
1 full year had passed at the end of year 1;
2 years had passed at the end of year 2;
and so on...
So, at the end of year 1999, as people were celebrating the new millennium, only 1999 full years had passed since the beginning of the calendar era-which is one year short of two full millennia.
9 months later, all hell broke loose.
Yes it did
I personally remember 2001 very well, the time I got sick and vomited in my bed and vomiting 10 more times two weeks after this. Early 2001 was an uncomfortable time for me and will never be forgotten.
I wish I was back in 2001.
