"I left in ole JerrBear enjoying a quick smoke before they belt out this sweaty, epic rendition of the mighty Jack Straw ,
(from Wichita)
Jerry seems to be enjoying this show alot

Present. Also at Foxboro, Giants Stad., and Rochester that summer.
The Boys were back and playing tight !
what a show was there one of many many shows sure do miss those days sitting here feeling little blue but the boys always bring me back to my happy place !!!!!!!
❤The Memory of JERRY MAKES ME WARM AND FUZZY.I AM SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET TO SEE HIM LIVE (MET HIM ONCE)IN CONCERT 103 TIMES between The dead and JGB. (89/95) most of the shows after 93 were mostly JGB.
I was 16 just got a car from parents my friend Johnny scored July 8 95 soldier field tix n my mom let me go
It was everything I'd hoped it would be I'm really grateful to have made it
The energy was truly magical and there's no other band that has ever achieved that sorta connection w the listener
Maybe Floyd ...
108 shows blows my mind
I know a few older Heads here in Oregon that have toured since the Ashbury days I did some irrigation work this summer in lake Oswego for an old Head who showed me his incredibly extensive and large stub and lot sticker collection in stack after stack of folders
I felt like I was visiting the Loueve' in Paris
Cheers❤
I was there with all my friends, left work at noon to get there to party, great times
think I had some pals there, did Dylan play? If so, then I heard about it and am evious
I was 9 years old at that time but I was There in spirit lol
I was smoking sum hash and thinking about where modern technology has taken us and i thought hey Maybe one day Time Travel will allow younger Heads to experience legendary shows like Cornell and Bonner Springs ....I'm sure thus will happen a year or 2 after I pass ....story of muhlife
I was there
Thanks to all Heads who stopped by to enjoi this 12 k views makes me feel good to have played a small role in sharing this music that means so much to us all
I'm humbled by this and it makes my hobby all worthwhile I'm homeless and grateful I have the Free time to do this I'm taking a break for the summer to see some shows I'll be back at it after cheers and thanks for putting some warmth in my heart ❤
Love
Perfect ĥarmony! Great musicians❤❤❤ 2023..I still love The Grateful Dead❤❤❤
Me toooo! Always will. Instant happiness guaranteed!
I’ve been in 1978 a lot. I love this song, hearing a ten year FF.. amazingly sad about what happened to it.
To be able to listen to and love the grateful dead and dead and co in this lifetime makes it all worthwhile sometimes. The enjoyment gained is greater than any loss one may encounter. Immortal dead.
They keep me around ❤
The whole band as a unit were incredible. Brent Mydland had an unbelievable voice and Bill and Mickey were so good together and then there’s Phil. Need I say more. I was lucky enough to see a dozen shows , mostly in The Old Boston Gahden, in the mid 80s with this lineup. Best shows I saw were at July 4th weekend 1988 at Oxford Plains Maine. Tennessee Jed Stands out. I drove over from Waterville Valley NH. Coming back was another story. 🙏😴
I know I've heard the Oxford plains show before .
I was 16 parents had got me my first car a behemoth brown Delta88 and I had been yanked outta school by police n sent to rehab for 6 months for trying pot for the first time lol
My friend Johnny scored tickets to Soldier Field July 8 1995 1st night of a 2 night stand which obviously was the last show w Jerry
Somehow my mom allowed me to go
The downtown was overtaken by Heads and we were on top of the World w anticipation as we rolled into the Lot I knew a whole new dimension of experience was opening up for me
We tripped balls on some clean decent L
We were in the nosebleeds I was sitting next to a wall where a spiders web was and during my peak I think I remember Eternity playing and the spiders were terrorizing me w intense menacing fear and agony
I had bought the 1995 tour poster w the sea turtle
I was trying to not kill the spiders but I'd bat at them w my rolledup poster then I'd go back into trance and dance then back to the archonic spiders' ornery fear mongering then back to dancing
I remember noticing Jerry was on heroin and I think I picked up on him being abit haggard at times
But overall it was a great show for 95 given his addiction being so bad at the time
I've seen a bunch a other shows from all genres of musical artists
I've seen page/ plant twice
Clapton once
Bob dylan handful of times ect
Theres never been a show that rivaled the energy and overall experience of that night
I think I've been subconsciously chasing the proverbial Dragon ,in terms of concerts, ever since
I'll say Page and Plants 98 show at united Center Chicago was the only show that came close to having that magical energy that you felt
I enjoi the mid 80s dead alot I've the Boston gardens shows were killer then I think one my fave Terrapin performances is from the garden around then
Thanks for sharing you're experiences much love from Oregon ❤
It blows my mind that this upload got 12 thousand views
I'm proud to have played a role in sharing this bands legacy w 12thousand other Heads
This brings me optimism and reminded me how strong the love for the Dead I'd after all these years
Thanks to everyone who stopped by ❤
Fabulous 1st set.
Jerry played pedal steel later on during the Dylan set on "Tomorrow is a Long Time" and the encore "Heaven's Door" w/Dylan (*per Deadbase VIII).
I was at this show ... looks great from here.
A beautiful day...was somewhere around 30yd line
They were an act for sure!!
108° in the sun that day🎉🎉
It looks really sweaty .cheers❤
if i just had a pinky's amount of cool that Jerry had, i would be set for life...
You do you just got to unleash it ❤
Just another appetite of your insatiable ego.
@usarmyveteran177 well it beats being a backstabbing disloyal thief, doesn't it?
How many substances would you say it takes to satisfy you're ego ,coward?
C'mon bobby, we're all waiting...
Bobby has got to make sure his shorts are cut to the exact length and specifications as Lt . Dangle from ren0 911 or no dice ❤😂
@@atravelerofbothtimespace4172 and Bobby Birkenstocks 👡👡
Gone way too soon.
heroin is a stealer of all that is good
1:27 jerry is confused by the ballon LOL
“We used to play for silver, now we play for Clive…”
Ain't it we play laughs"
Life now we play for life
OK, since no one cares, this was some shade on Clive Davis, then producer at Arista Records.
Jerry García ❤
One man gone and another to go....
?!
@@kathleenrodrigues8453 the song is about murder
And suicide… they will both share the women and the wine in hell
@@atravelerofbothtimespace4172
Jack Straw from Wichita
Cut his buddy down
Dug for him a shallow grave
And layed his body down
@@StoneyMcBonk there's murder in the song but the specific lyrics you posted are left to interpretation
This verse,in particular, has been debated in forums for aeons there's no definitive answerdid he cut him down as in kill Shannon or did he cut his dead buddy free from a hanging tree and bury his friend who was killed for falling behind ,,due to injury, gunshot, illness
We really don't know and I like it that way
Imo is what makes it timeless in its storytelling
But yes murder is in the song
But personally I don't interpret it as a song about murder, but rather a song of optimism and nomadic outlaw survival
In any case ,happy Halloween cheers
Thoughts--what do you think "We can share the women; we can share the wine" means?
" the love of women the work of man"- "weather report suite"
❤
