Nick get your UA-cam channel going, it will be a hit. There are very few channels featuring the Aussie Bush and off-grid living. Your boys can then concentrate on the boat and we will have lots more content to watch. I will definitely subscribe.
My wife and i bought a property in NE Victoria. Nothing but a shipping container. 3 years later have a tiny home. Water tanks. Solar and a job....its day to day stuff but were lucky we had " neighbours" that really helped us. Its not bloody easy. Year in a tent with 3 dogs . But we love life. We didn't go off grid to save the world but because we fell in love with the property. Hunt deer, milk cows, chop wood drink beers....

Starting from scratch is never easy , but you can make just like you want , right 👍 Having a river , is a massive bonus , so usefull , water is life . For a good bush mortar , brake up an old mud mound white ant nest , like the ones you can burn the center out of , and make a bread oven with . When smashed into dust you just add water , and it has everything in it to make a render - mortar ect . The ants make the perfect mix in the render for there mud nest , so your just repurposing it 🙏
Absolutely lads do it! I'm about to buy land down in Tas, love to see off-grid content made in Australia. If you find any old termite mounds around they make great mortar for kilns, BBQs etc.
My parents bought property in 1990 was the worst mistake they made in their lives a huge mistake and regret . Locals don’t take to people from mainland Australia for work or living
@@MrBenglew Fair point, a bit has changed since then but also I know that's still an axe that Islanders like to grind. Thing is loads more mainlanders are moving down now, making their own communities, bringing needed skills etc. I'm a chippie, but i'll bring some concreting gear with me so I can patch a few of those chips off the shoulders.
"Did you get that from the dunny" that creased me up. Another great video of a lifestyle so much better than mine. That's a fine spot to set up a homestead, far away from the Corporate cities. Cheers Solomon, love your channel. From Bob W in the UK.😊👍

How do you deal with council? Do you have a septic system, i think this is the only thing they have to be involved in

Councils don't want you moving rural. They make it so hard and expensive you my aswell buy in the cities after all the BS costs
