It's incredible how much insight Andy got into the actual style of Alexi Laiho. IT really covered every aspect of his sound.
To all the people saying "wow, Alexi should use these ideas, too bad he can write this good".... Every one of these licks comes from an Alexi Laiho riff, lead, or melodic phrase.

I am a BIG fan of Alexi and this guy (who impresses me with any of his interpretations) doesn't only have fast fingers, but good ears! He's been able to put everything Alexi plays (phrases, scales etc) in one melodic, original and authentic demonstration. You are awesome dude!! :)

I love how in these videos Andy plays things that the person whose style he's recreating would have problems being able to produce. He plays their styles better than they can haha.
I encourage the 70 guys who voted down to play the TABS which are in Songterr, and think what they did by voting down this amazing shredd work.
Andy should paint his finger nails black and add about a pound of bracelets to his left wrist - that would make the illusion of Alexi perfect

@riseagainstrul33 Hi there, yes the dvd this piece comes on is a full lesson on various licks that Andy has created in the style of Alexi Laiho. He does go through the licks at a pace where you can follow him, breaking down each section -plus you can always pause the DVD at any section your not 100% sure about. hope that answers your question.

That's a pretty incredible reproduction of his style. If someone posted this video claiming it was a CoB guitar tutorial video the only way I'd know it wasn't is the absence of the ring finger snake tattoo or whatever it is. Well, that and this is about twice as clean as most videos of Alexi playing. Pretty amazing playing.

Anyone's who's seen Andy's other DVDs or heard his albums knows he absolutely blows Alexi away. And that's not to take anything away from Alexi, who is amazing in his own right. But Andy is one of the best out there, period.

The entire solo is pretty much "Living Dead Beat"
There are a few parts that are not exactly "Laiho-ish" but for the most part, he nailed it. This could pass off as a new Bodom song if i didn't know better.
1:00 - 1:40 is exactly a Laiho lead.
@cykoxy Hi Cxkoxy the Quick Licks series are solos in the styles of an artist so they aren't actual licks from specific songs.
