eBay Needs an Onboarding Process For New Sellers - Your Q&A

- Something that we will discuss more on Saturdays PPP (Profit Playbook Podcast), ebay has been advocating for existing buyers to become sellers on the platform. In this video, I will give one example how it is a bad idea the way ebay is currently set up now. There is no barrier of entry to sell on eBay and eBay seems to be willing to allow these new sellers to "wing it" while chasing away our future buyers. This topic is going to be a bit controversial but I am over it. Let me know your thoughts on this in the chat and if you can't make the live place those thoughts down below in the comments.

Oh, I love parting out vacuums.
My first digital camera was a Sony and it made all the red things orange. Seems like the older Fuji's made all of the greens very vibrant.
Right now, I'm lucky, I get to use my GF's Canon 5D Mark II. I think it's 21 megapixel and all photos come out great (with good lighting, I have minimal photo editing.)
I really think we have better sales because I make the main photo look as good as possible. (...and the rest of the photos too).
I have 1500 listings and eBay throttles our sales forcing us to be a minimum of wage seller 😢

Ebay fees are getting to be alot. Transaction fee. Ad fee listing fee and tax and shipping I barely making profit. Do you pay all those fees
@@user-sn7qn4zm1l all the same fees plus promoting between 8-10%. Of you have the right items at a good price and play eBay’s game they will reward you. If you don’t it’s a struggle.

I do blame that seller. If you're unwilling to do any homework to learn how to do something properly and it fails, it is 100% completely on you! Victim mentality only keeps you a victim and never allows you to succeed.
@@danielmills7199 I get it and yes you’re right in the sense that people need to take accountability for their own actions however eBay enables this behavior by not stressing the importance of even mentioning best practices to a seller. So it may be that the seller sees nothing wrong with the way they are selling on the platform. My contention is if people knew better they would do better and an onboarding process would help in this regard.
@@FlippinAintEasyI do see your point. To be honest, I made the comment prior to seeing that portion of your video. Well I do believe people need to take accountability and put in work rather than be spoon-fed. I also believe that from a business perspective eBay could do a lot more to ensure sellers are better at the job. As always, I love your show and thank you for the work and time you put into this. Keep up the great work!
