Thanks mate, I'm still somewhat overexcited. I know the game went close but the last knock out match we were that comfortable in was against Germany in the last Euros. We should be up in your neck of the woods in a couple of years, the US and Canada will be like a home tournament for us so fingers crossed our seeding doesn't leave us playing out of Mexico. However the final goes we will likely be a top 4 seed at your World Cup. I'd love to pop over and watch it, time to start saving me farthings.

@Harry_SS Nope. Watkins all day. Toney is not that different from Kane in terms of platstyle. He plays with his back to goal, and while he's definitely more mobile than Kane, he wouldn't offer anything massively different. Watkins is a channel runner and creates an entirely different problem for the defence. Instead of getting tight, then now have to drop off incase he spins the marker, which is exactly what did he and did it beautifully.
Toney is the change when a team is deep and we need physical presence, Watkins is the change when we have space to work with (and is honestly why he should start versus Spain, as they give all sorts of openings)

Anyone out there claiming it's not a penalty needs to get in a time machine back to 1980 when it wasn't a penalty ,then they would be right . Flying in with studs up to block a shot is normally a straight red ,has been for 30 years , sick of no nothing commentators actually thinking it's not a penalty . It was clear it had to be Watkins over Toney cos the Dutch were feeling comfortable pressing high while Kane was on the pitch and constantly dropping into midfield. We needed the striker who would play on the shoulder of the back line and make runs into all that space behind.

Watkins showed more creativity and tenacity in 5 minutes than kane in the whole tournament. Toney has looked sharper than him in his cameos too! Kane is obviously world class but nowhere near in form enough to keep staring. Hopefully Southgate is brave enough to make the necessary changes against Spain because they are a level above anyone we've played so far

Southgate is genuinely awful at managing when it comes to football, but the reason he's been much more successful than almost every other England manager is because he's genuinely really good at managing the mental aspect of football, which is why we're in the final even though Switzerland and Netherlands played much better than England before the matches with England
