    I'm a bit of a simpleton instead of calculating the sides of the triangle I just took onetigris at their word that the base of the rock fortress was 12.4 ft and made my stake cord 6.2 ft with some extra in case I wanted to adjust the length.

    • @TheEmporiumOutdoors
      @TheEmporiumOutdoors  2 роки тому

      Hi Richard - Yes, I think it would but you would be close to the middle of the tent and the pole. The placement of the stove might be a challenge! 🧐 I'll maybe setup the tent and test it for you if I find time this week! 👍

      @@TheEmporiumOutdoors Hi Michael. Thanks for the reply. No need to test it out though, the fact that I would be much closer to the center pole is a deal breaker for me. If you don’t mind me asking, what tent do you use with your XXL cot, or do you just use it as a tent cot?

      Generally if it's stainless or titanium they don't contain many oils like steels stoves especially if painted. You can burn them "in" inside a tent but just keep it well ventilated. It may leave some residual smell initially but will soon be replaced with the typical wood burning smell 👍

    I have a cot that's virtually identical by FE Active - I paid $69.99cad. Right now they're $99cad. I've owned all of these, including the Teton (THE most comfortable cot on the planet) You have to be on glue to pay $500cad for a cot...does your cot come with the Hope Diamond?

    • @TheEmporiumOutdoors
      @TheEmporiumOutdoors  Рік тому

      Hahaha - the pricing is a little crazy but that was the best cot at the time with that style of leg. The Helinox also has a 5 year warranty and I can get parts after that if needed. For fit, finish and longevity - I'd wager the Helinox is a better cot 😉

    • @MichealBacon

      @@TheEmporiumOutdoors You probably skipped over the part where I said it's virtually identical. The leg style is EXACTLY the same as mine, same color too. And BOTH have aluminum frame. And I can buy 5 of my cots for the cost of one Helinox. Don't misunderstand me, Helionox makes a good products, but not FIVE times better than the FE Active cot. I have the Helinox folding lite chair. I bought it years ago, still going strong, and so are both my Fe Active cots for under a hundy each. I really enjoy your videos btw.

      Hey Colleen - I'd recommend a quilt if you are looking for light weight and packability. Go for something pretty wide you can wrap around on cold mornings. I really like the Enlightened Equipment gear enlightenedequipment.com/revelation-stock/. I'd go with the 950, 0f bag, regular wide. Not cheap at $400 but it will last a long time and it feels like a cloud hugging you all night. It also has mat straps to keep quilt and mat together if you move around. Hope that helps! 👍
