Great friends an great weather fish are just the bonus. Hard to tell are ourselves that but limits never should judge our good time meters. But it sure as hell helps. Lol
We fished out of holland 7/25 our hot rig was 105 down with a meatrig on a 8'' spindoctor we our best water was 135 to 155. We went 4 for 5 and had one that was 20#.
Awesome to hear, Thanks for sharing! We talked with a few people that fished that day and no one did very good! Then the day after the bite was on again! Think it was just an off day for us.
That was an old school penn reel and yes 45lb. However Ross just spooled up a cold water 55 with 500ft of copper , I’ll have to ask him which brand and what he used for backing.
I am just really getting into the whole salmon fishing thing and all the info and help is greatly appreciated. I live in Traverse City and mainly fish the west bay.
So I know of some people that run 600s but the 500 is the longest we have. It is an absolute pain to reel in lol but it always catches us fish later on in the summer!
Memories of Coho and Chinook up in door county in the '80's and '90s for me! Also, thanks so much bro, I learned a lot of trout skills from you that I used on the Upper White this spring!

@@jasonstiers6951 beautiful area! We take a trip up there every year first week of September. Have you been getting any kings up that way lately?
Got one small one the other day on our first morning troll and my 6yr old boy got a 7.5lb laker.
Awesome!!!
I can't get 11 inch paddles to go for me -- How long of a lead to the fly do you run. any help would be appreciated. Great video thx TK
I go with 2.5x the length of the paddle normally! Stick with white crush!
How deep is a 500 copper running?
Different charts say different numbers but my very rough estimate is 80-100 down
Nice work. Is it just me or is your motor trimmed wayyyy up?
It’s an inboard jet motor. No trim adjustments on it.
Ty for the video, can you use Dipsy diver on 200 fr cooper line? Ty again.
Like add a dipsy to a 200 copper???
Full moon for sure =p HAHA
😝 👊👊
and I thought reeling in my 300 copper was rough! Do you run any longer than 500?
