Since 2 days I'm driving with Viofo A119 V3 and I strongly recommend it! Fantastic dash cam! :)
Btw, CPL filter is A MUST imo if you are wondering if it is worth the extra money. HUGE difference during the daylight (not only during sunny days).
@@16klu I am wondering finally 70mai pro vs Viofo A119 V3, but i think the video quality is better in Viofo, but the Wifi and voice controls are a very good point in 70mai. Is it possible to connect (Viafo) to a power bank?
@@rivis I have it plugged to the lighter socket in my car, but at home, when I want to change settings for example, it works with my power bank.
KLU Thank you! I know it has no battery but it does have a super capacitor. If your lighter socket stops having electricity (because you turn off your vehicle) does the Viofo save the video it was recording or lose it? Thank you for your help
@@rivis I have the recording time set to 3 minutes (so it records 3 minute clips and in case the SD card is full, it overrides the oldest file). But if, for example, I turn off the ignition after 2:12 of recording (my socket does not retain power, it shuts down the power immediately), the video recording will be saved, not lost. It will be just separate 2 minutes 12 seconds recording file, among other 3 minute files.
The 119 has really improved with the V3. I'll still be getting the A129 Duo, as it fits my needs a bit better with some of its options compared to the 119V3.
The Thinkware 800 Pro didn't really do well in this test compared to the other 3 cam's. And with it double the $$ as the A129 Duo, that's unfortunate.
I read Viofo say that they have a 4K cam coming later in the year (2019). Beings I need a cam soon, I'll get the A129 duo now and the 4k when its released (pending its price and features)

I agree with the comments; an A129 Duo with image quality/resolution of the A119 V3 would be absolutely great.
The resolution of the V3 is really good, even at night (in my humble opinion).
I have seen few video comparison, but Yours put me in from of my lap top to get one, despite we`re on 2021 the Viofo A119 V3 is the one that always impress me the most. Well done and thanks for sharing.

thanks for such an awesome comparison! I had another Viofo analogue in the same case with Novatek chip but different camera, which suddenly died yesterday. I have nearly bought 70mai because it's "more or less the same" and twice as cheaper. But after this review of yours, I think I'm gonna stay with Viofo for another round 😏👍🏻

Thanks for the update! cant wait to see the A119 PRO vs A119 V3 comparison soon. But i hope the software for the A119 V3 will come out before you compare them 2 since i think they need a lot of improvements for the A119 V3 sensor and lens to work properly to get max quality to make it work properly. Also to remind if you can make them same settings like 30FPS shooting high bitrate etc and if you can write the settings in the description that would be great. Also i think its time to get rid of those Xiaomi and other poor brand since Viofo is leading number 1 for dashcams in todays market even above thinkware and DOD and blackvue. Thanks

I just had the new V3 and its Amazing,i had the V1 for years with no problem at all but there are a few things.
What are the Bitrate numbers as its just got low/medium/high and what was the old V1 bitrate.
Also what Media player do you use as its great as you can pause and zoom in very easy and Great reviews again.
I'm bit curious if the cars are moving at night and how cameras recognize the numbers. Anyway, thanks for your great comparisons.

@@billkzhou 4k IMX415 sensor with it 75% better sensitivity than IMX335 used in V3 will hit hard :)
much to late comment. A129 PRO 4K is out based on IMX317. It is loosing 75% of sensitivity vs IMX415
Maybe A129 V2 PRO 4K will use IMX415 or some new 4K sensor in 1/2.5 size. We can just dream about using IMX485 in 1/1.2 size

Excellent videos and comparison. Best videos I have seen with comparing dash cameras. I would be curious if you could test the Viofo A129 with the Street Guardian SG9663DCPRO. Those cameras are very similar design and specs.
Looks like Street Guardian SG9663DC is manufactured by Viofo: Go to google > FCC ID Viofo A129 > find "internal photos" > go to page 13/fig.13 > and read code on the bottom left corner on the sensor PCB (SG9663DC).

You are only one in youtube, who makes usefull dash cameras videos and comparison. Other youtube bloggers do it either for advertising, or stupid (for examle they record their videos from dash cam screens,or they focus on that, how buildings, forests are shown, instead of legal plates). Thank you.

My friend, you should make this comparison 2 weeks earlier. I was choosing between Xiaomi 70mai and Viofo A119 and bought the first one. Xiaomi 70mai turned out to be a peace of sh*t indeed :'(
