A lot of You Tubers are "reacting" to The Bee Gees and their music. So many say, "where has this music been?" or "Why is this the first time I'm hearing this?" With the song, "Too Much Heaven", a lot of them cry/become emotional because their voices are so angelic. Those of us that grew up in the 70s and 80s were lucky enough to hear them on the radio a few times a day. I'm glad this younger generation can listen and appreciate like we did when we were younger.
I am 32 and I always get excited, I am not from the time in which this music was made, but I can understand the emotion of those who are just discovering the Bee Gees, their songs are unique and enveloping
Rest well Barry’s longtime friend & Grease star Olivia Newton John who recorded Face to Face with Barry in 1984 & re-recorded Rest Your Love On Me with Barry in 2021 (originally sung by the Bee Gee’s & later by Barry’s brother Andy Gibb as a duet with ONJ).
He was so busy working for the groups success he lost sight of his brothers feelings. Unintentional but it must have been hard for the twins, both of whom were very talented . They were good individually, better when in a pair but amazing all together. ❤❤❤
The only way Barry and his brothers will be forgotten is if music somehow dies. The Bee Gees are that important to modern music and are so because they were brilliant and quite original in they're creativity, and also wrote many great hits that touched ,many many people from all around the world.
Wonderful interview. Barry, at least you understand now instead of never. Regardless of the failures, the Bee Gees have left legacy that your fans do care about. We care. Love you Barry.
@@olivas91- That struck me as well. FINALLY he admitted "I understand what made them unhappy. I got too much attention, Robin didn't get enough and Mo certainly didn't get enough. I never understood their feelings until a couple of years ago." A bit late for an epiphany. Robin leaving way back in 1969 should have been a bit of a clue. Even when the twins were singing the camera was often on Barry so people thought, and many still do, that he was the entire group and even that he wrote all of their songs. Barry often spoke about the twins "demons". Maybe they resulted from their low self esteem at being relegated to the back of the bus? He just said what many fans knew for decades!!! I really appreciate that he said that and hope he continues to give them the recognition they deserved for all these years (including in any movie that gets made).
@@susieq9801 I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think of Barry as a bad guy. I am absolutely sure that he loved his brothers immensely. As the middle child of 3 girls I know that it is (usually) the older sibling who takes the lead. That is only natural. As a Maurice fan I was especially grateful that he gave extra emphasis to Maurice being overlooked. (the part about the camera always being on Barry is so true... there are some videos where they focused on the background musicians more than Maurice 😔). Anyway their music was amazing and I will always be sad that their time together was all too short.
@@lauravettoretti1323 - Maurice was a musical genius. He could play just about any instrument they threw at him although he couldn't read music and was daring to try new things like the synthesizer when it first came on the music scene. He was their musical director on stage and he was the best musician who put Barry's and Robin's melodies and lyrics to music always finding the right chords and harmonies, and that doesn't even consider his upbeat personality. 👍👍The proof of his importance beyond doubt is that when he died, so did the Bee Gees.

I would love to tell Barry I am the same age as him and I have learned as you get older you learn two big things the meaning of your existence and the really big one humility.
I am very sorry for the loss of your father, I hope that the music that reminds you of him manages to reach your heart and take you back to the beautiful memories you lived with him.
I notice the similarities in all the family's expressions and patterns of speech. They worked very hard and deserved all the awards they received. So much talent in one family. We will always remember Barry and the Bee Gees! Forever.
The concert I would love to see is Barry and all his children, nieces and nephews cover the songs. I loved the cousins getting together and singing the Gibb Collective. If I could see one concert that would be the one I would want to see. All of their kids have amazing talent and the work ethic of their famous Dads. Come on Barry one last time!!!
@@olivas91I think Barry's set for retirement at this point when it comes to singing or any type of concert, other than the 2 big projects he's been working on....which are the new movie & a new book.
Dreaming of a concert featuring Barry Gibb and all his children, nieces, and nephews covering the iconic songs would be a mesmerizing and generational celebration. The talent and work ethic inherited from their famous dads, especially seen in the Gibb Collective, promise a spectacular experience. Fingers crossed for Barry to make it happen!
We must remember that the 3 brothers were always listed in the credits because it was the agreement, but Barry's compositions reached the highest, the recognition is for the 16 number 1 in 6 different decades, if there is a collective achievement they have to mention Rob and Mo. because Bee Gees are the three, but in this case Barry is specifically named
Remember he also wrote many songs for Andy & produced his albums. Plus, around HALF the songs they wrote for others were written with Robin & Mo, but Barry wrote or co-wrote every one plus co-produced those albums. So to sum it up, Barry was recognized for his singing, songwriting as well as producing very successful albums.🎼
I love the interview! I always enjoyed their music. “How Deep Is Your Love” is a classic slow dance ballad from late ‘77 that still sounds great today! I’ve listened to their music for nearly 50 years and I never knew his brother Maurice’s name was pronounced “Morris” and not “Ma-Reece” 🤷♂️😂
"I'd love it to have been 7".😄 Love his honesty, ambition, British accent. Truly an exemplary talent, family man, entertainer, rare, exemplary all-round human. What a blessing, may Barry Gibb be blest by Jesus, forever.
I’m happy Barry acknowledged he got more attention than Robin and Mo. Maurice’s work was especially unappreciated and overshadowed by full orchestration. It should have been highlighted and celebrated. In a BBC interview Maurice stated he felt “unworthiness”. Today many are realizing his talent and that he was underrated. The truth always comes out doesn’t it, and we have the proof. Barry was a great and talented leader of the group and I am very 😊 glad he can look back with compassion toward his brothers. ❤ Bee Gees forever!
At least you’re not calling him selfish. He coudn’t avoid the attention he got, unless he hid his candle under a bushel, which would’ve robbed the world of so much. I’m glad he didn’t. I’ve always thought it had to be hard to be Robin and Mo because he was such a standout. Barry doesn’t notice how people react to him, even now, according to his son. He’s humble, and it’s never his focus. He just doesn’t see the attention. So I can see how he’d go through this whole time not understanding what they were saying, and how they felt. He had to get some distance from his brothers and the Bee Gees for him to see. He deserved all the praise and attention. It was impossible for him to avoid it, unless he hid himself, but it had to be hard on Robin and Mo. As he said, it’s over now, it really doesn’t matter now. Barry is extraordinary. It’s time for people to continue to sing his praises.
Robin's voice was unique. Love ❤️ the BGs. They were entertaining in around Brisbane and Redcliffe when I was a kid. I wasn't a Beatles fan, but I loved the Gibb brothers.

I Love All of Their Song's 🥰
Me too, they're Great
Loved Barry and The Bee Gees. Regret I never got to see them in live concert...Watched their Sydney ONE NIGHT ONLY concert a dozen times at least.
I understand you ❤️
The Bee Gees harmonizing was one of the rare ones where it sounded like one voice, they blend together so richly.
They had a way of assembling their voices that directly touched the heart.
Bee Gees #1 👍. I’m so jealous of his kids. They got the best dad. Barry Gibbs, You Win Again! 🥰
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I'm so jealous of his wife. She's got the best husband.
Without a doubt
Awesome voice 👍👏👏👍
Yeah
I would love to tell Barry I am the same age as him and I have learned as you get older you learn two big things the meaning of your existence and the really big one humility.
❤️❤️❤️
Barry has a lot of humility.
Yeah
I adore their songs.
Greetings ❤️ Me too.
I love his songs from his solo career. "Mando Bay" ❤️ "Night for Lovers", "I'll Kiss Your Memory", "The Day That Your Eyes Meet Mine.".
❤️❤️❤️
Sir Barry and his brothers are the greatest songwriters of all time. An absolute living legend.
My dad passed away this year. But through the music the memories will be alive....
I am very sorry for the loss of your father, I hope that the music that reminds you of him manages to reach your heart and take you back to the beautiful memories you lived with him.
@@olivas91Absolutely. Thank you so much.
Dad loved the Bee Gees
@@dayram6217 I am glad that I have instilled in you the love of good music, hugs to you from a distance and to him to heaven. Blessings
Sorry for the loss of your dad.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I notice the similarities in all the family's expressions and patterns of speech. They worked very hard and deserved all the awards they received. So much talent in one family. We will always remember Barry and the Bee Gees! Forever.
Great interview! I feel bad that they didn't have closure sbout their differences. Love the Bee Gees forever❤️🎶❤️
❤️❤️❤️❤️
BARRY GIBB SO GREAT ON CBS MORNINGS !!!!
Absolutely ❤️
Barry, you’re too modest and very generous to other singers.
Without a doubt ❤️
beautiful songs that are timeless, because they are simply not commercial. Many greetings from Greece🎁🎁🎁
I agree with you ❤️ greetings ❤️
The concert I would love to see is Barry and all his children, nieces and nephews cover the songs. I loved the cousins getting together and singing the Gibb Collective. If I could see one concert that would be the one I would want to see. All of their kids have amazing talent and the work ethic of their famous Dads. Come on Barry one last time!!!
That would be impressive, I wish Barry would do that concert, or the same one would do one last concert, I'm sure I wouldn't miss it.
@@olivas91I think Barry's set for retirement at this point when it comes to singing or any type of concert, other than the 2 big projects he's been working on....which are the new movie & a new book.
I understand you, but can you imagine how nice a farewell concert would be?
Dreaming of a concert featuring Barry Gibb and all his children, nieces, and nephews covering the iconic songs would be a mesmerizing and generational celebration. The talent and work ethic inherited from their famous dads, especially seen in the Gibb Collective, promise a spectacular experience. Fingers crossed for Barry to make it happen!
I hope it happens, that would be exciting
The award should have been recognized to ALL three. The other two never felt good enough
Exactly, and that dedication and perseverance took him where he is today.
The Kennedy Center award only goes to a living recipient but Robin and Mo are honored and mentioned in the tribute.
@@patriciamcelroy3581 Exactly
Anthony, you have the best job in the world. Well done.
Yeah ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
And he truly is one of the most of a very small handful of Songwriters in History !!!
Agree
Barry sempre muito humorado! Uma lenda viva!
uma lenda viva que sem dúvida merece todo o reconhecimento, gostaria que seus irmãos estivessem vivos
Barry is an absolute legend.
They are superb superstars !!!!!!!!!
oh Yeah ❤️ Without a doubt ❤️
Barry’s Voice hasn’t changed 😅 still sounded the same like 20 years ago.
😅😅😅 true
I love the interview! I always enjoyed their music. “How Deep Is Your Love” is a classic slow dance ballad from late ‘77 that still sounds great today! I’ve listened to their music for nearly 50 years and I never knew his brother Maurice’s name was pronounced “Morris” and not “Ma-Reece” 🤷♂️😂
Being British it is pronounced morris, and even though they were in America they always pronounced it that way. I also loved this interview
"I'd love it to have been 7".😄 Love his honesty, ambition, British accent. Truly an exemplary talent, family man, entertainer, rare, exemplary all-round human. What a blessing, may Barry Gibb be blest by Jesus, forever.
Thank you for your beautiful words, I hope we can have Barry for many more years
I’m happy Barry acknowledged he got more attention than Robin and Mo.
Absolutely agree
❤️❤️❤️
What a cool dude!

Love this♥️
Me too, so beautiful

Bee Gees......inmortales.....sus canciones marcaron una época...y sus voces son irrepetibles.
Totalmente de acuerdo contigo
Robin gibb was always my favourite his voice was like a choir of angels
For me everyone's voices were perfect, but the real magic happened when they combined
Robin's voice was unique. Love ❤️ the BGs. They were entertaining in around Brisbane and Redcliffe when I was a kid. I wasn't a Beatles fan, but I loved the Gibb brothers.
@@narellecruickshank6919 The Gibbs were unique and amazing
Barry looking just great. Many more years to come. Did not know he had a hearing issue tho. Heard he has a bit of arthritis in his fingers. Still so appreciated.
He is a fighter, especially with his spinal problem.
He should drink fresh turmeric juice every day.

Barry has severe rheumatoid arthritis in his body and also he has had surgery on his back.
