@@rapidak87 I tried that, it looks like the character is lying down instead of standing up with worm eye view though. And, I CANT DRAW THE ANKLES OR FEET LOL
@@rapidak87 hello, i know this is an older comment but i'd like to ask how someone should get the proportions right with a foreshortened body, i feel like thats quite hard. Is that just an experience thing?
@@taylan1039 Mostly I think. But don't forget to learn smartly. I mean don't just copy reference pictures when training. I think experience and knowlwedge goes hand in hand. So if you know how body looks like (a bit anatomy definetely) and how pespective works, you can try your own aproach. If ou want to be sure, find 3D human models and trace it. But you know - what works me may not work for you. Good luck!
Sometimes when I want to draw a scene or story I cant decide on an angle or distortion . Your video gives me ideas and thats awesome to remember for scene sketches
Thanks. This really helped. I've chosen a difficult subject to draw that combines a number of perspectives (a humanoid body holding a spear). I've tried this technique and it's really coming together now.
Using geometric shapes to set the contour lines of the body along with lines for the stick-figure, do you have suggestions on how to use the cross-contour lines to define & maintain the proportions of the body while drawing in perspective? As this video defines foreshortening, would you consider following it with one which demonstrates how to determine correct/better/more precise line length(s) when drawing In perspective?
Appreciate the effort, but I didn't find he video helpful cos it just highlighted what foreshortening was and it's definition... But didn't explain how to use it apply it... I guess this is for super-beginners?
This was an amazing turtorial and when u mentioned the 3D shapes, it clarified SO MUCH this video deserves 2 thumbs up from me (sadly that's not possible) thank you so much for your help!
To me it helps a ton to draw the limbs head and so on as diffrent boxes because what makes perspektive work is knowing wich plane is more visible and how much. You cant draw a nose normally if you look ok to a figure because the nose is not only much smaller but also the downside is the only visible plane. It helps me also greatly when i draw all 3 axes as a little side note and put a simple small box in it to remind me the exact angle
excellent video! turning the body parts into shapes was very clarifying to me, before that i only did the stick man for the body lol. its a shame that many people didnt comprehend it :/ but great work!! thank you!!!
Guys he is showing HOW he's just explaining the definition of the word WHILE he is showing HOW to draw it. He explained the coils and stuff. That isn't the DEFINITION, that is HOW you draw the guidelines. Oml.
Wow your videos are amazing! just watched the gestures video and now this one and i was about to give up trying to do figures but these helped me so much and made it seem so simple, thanks! all ive ever done are landscapes but this is a great start to body gestures and perspective, thanks!

No disrespect. But you didnt tell us how to calculate or any technical tips to draw. I would really appreciate if someone could provide a link which shows how to calculate the size of lines in different perspective. Thanks
Are you drawing with a mouse on a monitor screen btw ? I'm thinking of turning to digital art so I'm just curious if drawing using a mouse would work 😺
"I KNIW THE DEFINITION BUT HOWWW?" What do u mean how??? He showed u how. Use basic shapes (cylinder), body parts close to the camera are bigger or longer , those far are shorter and smaller...ez
Sketch a lot and you will get it,enough of your sarcasm, I'm defending the tutorial instructor, he explained it clearly, if you don't sketch a lot you will never get Iol

You can use koizu’s video on perspective. He goes into definition but he does teach you
Lol xD!

Thanks for the video! It kind of helped a lot. But I do think you focused too much on the definition and not so much on the "how to...".
Yeah, same
Check out Alphonso Dunn, he’s an artist, who actually know how to teach.
I completely agree, this video didn't really help me tbh
@@ghastlyking3680 that's mean but okay
how to what?
Uhh thanks?
I know what foreshortening is
