- In this video I will show you how to install Hyprland on Manjaro Linux. With a single command and the ML4W Hyprland Starter Package.

The installer is also tested on Arch Linux, EndeavourOS, Garuda Linux, Arco Linux and more.
You can install the Hyprland Starter on real hardware (bare metal) or test it first in a Virtual Machine based on QEMU/KVM with activated 3D acceleration.
The ML4W Hyprland Starter Package includes a script to install a core Hyprland system incl. the following packages:
Window Manager: hyprland
Status Bar: waybar
Launcher: rofi-wayland
Terminal: alacritty
Terminal: kitty #optional
Notification Service: dunst
File Manager: dolphin
xdg-desktop-portal-hyprland
qt5-wayland
qt6-wayland
Wallpaper: hyprpaper
Lock screen: hyprlock
Icons: ttf-font-awesome
* PLEASE NOTE: Nvidia hardware is not official supported by Hyprland. But many users reported success to install Hyprland with Nvida. Please refer to:

After a successful installation you can install the new ML4W Hyprland Settings App to configure Hyprland without using a terminal. You can define the window border, gaps, blur, transparency and more, easily and on the fly.

Hello Stephan, I'm currently using your dotfiles in version 2.9 and I just have to thank you, but unfortunately the virtualization part seems a bit confusing, I would like to suggest a video configuring the system so that everything works with virt-manager + looking glass on a newly installed system (which is my case, where I installed it on a minimal arch). I have a question that happened to me a few days ago I came back to hyprland and I found a surprise and is that I install virt-manager followed your script and other guides as I was a little desperate, but everything is installed well but there is no way to run virt-manager or from the terminal or from the menu of apps, someone knows what may be happening, some update in Wayland that leaves virt-manager incompatible, I would appreciate some help and clarification, thank you very much!!!

Thanks. I think that Manjaro is a great distro. But the packges are not up-to-date and behind Arch Linux and other distros. They will be normally released after few days but this can cause conflicts especially with dynamic projects like Hyprland where latest packges are needed. If you accept this and are willing to wait few days to get the latest feature than Manjaro would work for you.
can i use on manjaro xfce?
Yes. Should work. But please be aware that Manjaro is sometimes a bit behind the latest versions of the packages. Can result in issues.

Why people use manjaro instead of arch?
Every user has preferences and Manjaro has a huge community. But that’s the best on Linux. Everyone is free to choose the distro that fits to personal needs.
Also Manjaro is a little slower on updates so less chance of an upstream update borking your system. As I have had under Arch and Arco more than once.
btrfs and multiboot with win11 work in manjaro very well, you have the arch help and the manjaro help, grub theme and os theme are well chosen

Do you have an NVIDIA card? If yes, please follow the guide on Hyprland Wiki. If not can you switch to another tty with CTRL+ALT+F3, login and start Hyprland with the command "Hyprland"
Do yourselves a favor and don't use Manjaro
The best with Linux is that every Linux user can decide.
