- Girls Aloud have reunited and completed the Cancer Research Race for Life in memory of friend and fellow member Sarah Harding who died from breast cancer last year.
Band members Cheryl, Nadine and Nicola took part in the 5km event in London's Hyde Park, joined online by Kimberley who raced at the same time abroad.
Nadine said the band are still "very much trying to take it in" following her death in September 2021.

Sarah used to be my uncle's girlfriend. My grandparents, uncle and father knew her before she became famous and Sarah even drove my Dad to his Army Base once. She was so amazing to my family ❤ R.I.P Sarah Hardings, thanks for your singing, you will not be forgotten.

Sarah had such a powerful singing voice and I loved listening to her parts when I would listen to their CDs. I loved her short blonde hair and the charming and fun character.. She was my favorite of all the Girls. RIP queen, miss you so much 💖

You can hear Nadine was still very sad after Sarah’s passing. She sounded very angry when there were still many things to do to cure cancer. She is such a sweetheart like Sarah. RIP Sarah.

The accent on Nadine is awful. Half Irish and half American. You can bearly understand her and then she throws in posh accent at different times to. Very confusing. RIP Sarah. You were perfect. Perfect to me.

I'm not sure Cheryl connected much with Sarah. I remember when Sarah was in Celeb Big Brother in England and someone asked if the other girls still keep in touch and she said only Nadine. So even though I'm sure they all had good times together, I really don't think Cheryl thought much of Sarah and is partly doing this through guilt and media attention. I could be wrong . And I'm not trying to be insensitive. Just my gut feeling.
I don’t think it’s even worth speculating about. If her death made her feel like she wants to do events like this and connect with the other girls on a deeper level, then I don’t think it’s worth gossiping over how close they were beforehand.
Regardless of they were friends or not after the band, they were still in a band together for 10 years and probably were in each others pockets that entire time. To me that would create a very special bond
