Always a pleasure seeing your uploads man! Nice seeing that 45 in action too!
Cheers! Felt like I should get a video about it out, sorry it isn't as in depth as usual!
Nothing to apologise for!
Half the time people are here seems to be for stress relief, and I am sure you provided that this time too! ;)

Hello Terans, did you consider using something like a Kipon or a XP Image to get the full image circle of this lens ?
And I'm totaly with you, medifum format, wide angle and close up = best match
Can't say I've thought of doing that. Would you do that with a focal length reducer?
@@taranspictures To get the full image circle of the lens and getting closer to the 645 look ? Yes, I sold my 50R but I see myself going back to Fuji MF and doing this ;)
Thanks for posting this, I’ve been debating getting this lens for landscapes and general use photography for my 50r. I think the only thing holding me back is the larger size with the dumb adapter and any sort of hood I’d get for it.
Yeah with the adapter it is very large, especially with the lens hood. I'll be making more in depth videos about it in the future, this one was no where near as good as I would have liked it to have been but it's all I could do at the time being
Nice video! May I ask, what kind of adapter are you using?
I used a fotodiox adapter, I did originally get a cheaper one but it had problems properly connecting to the GFX mount so I asked around and the fotodiox one was highly recommended
@@taranspictures Thanks for the reply! I've been thinking about buying either a Kipon or a Fotodiox.
I sold this lens, because it seemed a bit boring to me. Instead I bought an Irix 45mm 1.4 , very nice lens. It’s manual focus, so it slows you down. The native 45mm focuses fast and reliable. I guess, you can’t have everything 😊. Oh wait, you’re talking about the Mamiya, not the Fuji.😮 I got confused because you talked about how sharp it is, the Fuji is very sharp
I was looking into the irix 45 for quite a while but everything I saw about the lens said it had crazy vignette and it was even softer than the Mitakon when wide open
@@taranspicturesI thought so too but I was surprised how good the Irix is. The vignette can easily be removed in post, the lens has good sharpness in the center wide open like the Mitakon, but it has rather low contrast. So the look is different from the Mitakon, but I like it, especially in Black and White. This does not mean you can’t achieve punchy results, you just have to apply a stronger curve. I don’t see any real problems with the lens. I made mostly full body portraits wide open with beautiful out of focus backgrounds. I can recommend this lens. Thank you for your enjoyable content. One question: I find it difficult to focus my Mitakon because the focus ring is rather hard to turn. Is this a known issue or do I have a bad copy? Thanks.
The focusing ring on the Mitakon should have some resistance but it shouldn't affect your focusing. I may have to save up for the irix lens then, do you have an Instagram n have the photos posted? Id love to see them
