I've watched this arc more than any other parts of HxH and have thought a great deal about these characters in regards to their loyalty. You did a great job covering each character and I love how you analyzed their answers to the king when he asked about his name. The whole bit on Pitou was my favorite and I think you nailed it.
Yeaaaaaaa boooooooooiiiiiiiiii more hxh videos!! I agree there is a lot more nuance to them, but all 3 are based off of the different way we all express the same emotion of "loyalty". Your analysis of pouf as the devout follower is spot on. I think it's very interesting as pouf is more loyal to the CONCEPT of the king, rather than the actual king himself. This is why any action taken by the king or event that contradicts his "perfect being" narrative initiates cognitive dissonance in him, and as a result he acts aggressively towards whatever is causing that dissonance. Youpi is similar in that he serves the concept rather than the person which is why the both get along so well. The only difference up to the point where they witness the miracle is that Yupoi serves the concept of the "high ranking man" the king and yet that one difference causes his character to branch out in a completely different direction in so many ways it's simple amazing XD (I have nothing to add for pitou you pretty much killed it there) Also interestingly enough not only does pitou relate to wolfin in that way where they both truly care for the PERSON they are following but I don’t think toGODshi frames Yupoi's and Pouf's form of devotion so much as but more so as "This way of thinking/serving won't make you happy in the end cause no one lives up to the ideal no matter what the ideal is." Overall great video can't wait for more!!
I could not ask for higher praise from the HxH Dickriding Association itself, I was worried about this videos reception since it aligns closer with a theory than the praise I gave in my last video. It's a lot harder for people to look negatively on praise than it is a theory, even if this is barely a theory, the fact that the HxH dickriding association would write such a long positive message must mean I'm doing something right. Thank you for the comment, you gave me some relief which goes a long way
"This way of thinking/serving won't make you happy in the end cause no one lives up yo the ideal no matter what the ideal is." That's a good point. People follow political leaders to extremes like fascism and communism thinking they've found their savior only to find that their savior can't even save himself. That's also paralleled with Diego and then averted into a contrast with the real Diego who survived because he realized the price of such ambition wasn't necessary, that one only needs the land, the sun, and poetry. Something Meruem only learned once he was terminally ill and at the same time finally human in the humane sense.
Last video I had commented on some issues in organization and how your points sometimes didn't feel highlighted enough, but I do really like the format you had in this video. It improves on a lot of issues I had before and also feels like your talking to the viewer more than teaching like your last video did. I guess it feels organic and I really liked your analysis on the Royal Guards. Looking forward to your next video.
Superb analysis dude. I agree on all fronts. The only thing you could do, and that's from a technical standpoint, is to lower the music volume a bit. It got a bit loud at times and it was hard to hear what you were saying.
Can do, I raised the volume a bit compared to my last video because I thought it might make the silence in between my statements less obvious but I see that backfired. I'll change that up next time, it's really not a hard thing to fix so that should be no big deal, expect that not to be a problem from here on out!
In the manga most likely, in the Anime well idk. I think of it as female since it ads diversity to the royals. I don't care how people refer to it but there where inconsistincies whilst u discussed Pitou. In one sentence you said she yet the next sentence you refered to it as a he.
Excellent video, but I think it'd be better to take more time when saying your lines. Reading at a slower pace would give your viewers more time to process what you're saying. Either way, I greatly enjoy your videos, and van't wait until the next one!
My bad! It's really hard for me to tell when it's too fast or too slow so I'll try to slow it down a bit more next time so I've been adding captions just to be safe. I'll work on trying to fix that for the next one, thanks for bringing it to my attention because like I said, I have trouble realizing it's an issue on my own

The structure and analysis in the video is great! Keep it up!

Intense..this was so intense I loved it!!
Pitou this little kitten
Youpi, the kid with aggression problems
Pouf, a damn butterfly

You reffered to Pitou as male in some sentences and female in other. Somewhat confusing at first.
Freudian slip, I think of Pitou as a she but I'm pretty sure biologically Pitou is a he

6:00 through 6:08, it's minor really but i thought i'd rather point it.
Or maybe you were reffering to Meruem rather than Pitou there, sorry.
check out 6:52 also
Interesting video! Quite reminiscent of Aleczandxr's Royal Guard analysis, which I'd recommend if you haven't seen it. Thanks for the work.

I only came here to know Youpis name
Pito is a FEMALE you called her a him several times
She was actually supposed to be a male actually. But because togashi didnt tell them her gender they just made him a girl
I’m pretty sure Pitou is a guy. Just because he looks and sounds more feminine means nothing
Neferpitou in the manga is a male, and the anime version is a female.
Ratel3000 yeah the gender was more ambiguous in the manga, but was made more feminine in the anime for some reason.
The background music is so annoying dude
