    Has to be the easiest way of replacing the temp sensor . Other vids require removing the intake & heater hoses which like to seize on to the metal tubing. Great vid 👍🏼

    Do I have to empty coolant to do this? Or just unplug battery and go at it

    • @seabee1625
      @seabee1625  2 роки тому

      no, you do not have to drain the coolant, when you are ready to remove the old sensor, have the new one ready to install, the process should take 2 to 3 seconds, minimizing coolant loss.

    This is happening in my 2007 chevy impala, the A/C vents makes a bad clicking sound too when thebAC Hot turn off warning comes on.
    I read that I can use a box end swivel ratchet instead of disassembling my car, I hope its true for the 2007 model.

    • @seabee1625
      @seabee1625  3 роки тому +5

      Pete, the clicking you hear on your impala is a common problem as the gear often strip, The AC vents are controlled by an actuator as you turn the knob to control air direction, it is easily fixed with a 1/4” ratchet and a 7mm socket
      It is located behind the glove compartment, here is the part number should you decide to fix it yourself; Door actuator # Dorman #. 604-108,

    • @steve0l
      @steve0l Рік тому

      Actually, there are 3 separate " gear boxes," the one is just left of the glove box, ( 5 min job) the other 2 are located pretty much right in the middle of center console. Which requires taking apart most of the entire front console apart, minimum few hour job at least. All 3 gear boxes on my impala are completely destroyed. So every time I turn ac on it off, setting thermostat lever to coolest setting and all the way up for max heat, the boxes go off on there clicking rampage. So for example I have heat of max, then turn it to coolest setting, then turn ac on each box will click for about 3 minutes, stop for a sec then go to the next box and that one will start clicking then time for the third box do do its thing. I've had all 3 now gear boxes just haven't gotten around to replacing then. Too busy replacing everything other part imaginable on this car. So yes, it is EXTREMELY ANNOYING, but kinda last to fix on my list.

    I have a 2013 chevy impala and I changed the coolant temperature sensor and the engine hot a/c off light has come back on. Could it be the thermostat?

    • @LH81633
      @LH81633 4 роки тому +6

      Bennie Mangle Jr. the thermostat is stuck open not allowing the engine to meet required temp!!! Cussing computer to false read !!! Not sensor waisting your money light will come back in a couple of days!! Also check wiring at sensor pigtail!!

    • @seabee1625

      Rise, seems to me that the A/C high pressure switch in faulty, I suggest to run the engine to normal operation temperature, turn the a/c off and make sure the defroster is off also, the fan should not run. try that and let me know

    • @seabee1625
      @seabee1625  3 роки тому +2

      Josh, you can continue to drive your car, but, my suggestion is to park in a safe area, turn off the engine, pop the hood and visually inspect the coolant level, you can do so by looking at the reservoir, open the yellow plastic cap, if is empty, you have a leak, you should have that checked out immediately, if the level is ok, drive it home then replace the temperature sensor.

  • @LH81633

    Temp sensor very rarely fails!! Light will be back!! Check for frade wires at temp sensor pig tail if all is good then change thermostat!!!

      As I stated in my video, you have to disconnect the battery to prevent others sensors to trigger codes, at the same time the ECM will reset it self. Now if you have damaged connector, chafed wiring or coolant leaks, the code will reappear, I hope that helps
