Boy, I miss all of that...and I've never even been to that part of Nebraska. Two 45-foot trailers on one flatcar, a 2-axle Front Runner, Consolidated Freightways trailers, 40-foot UPS trailers, the C&NW, those DASH 8's and SD60M's. As for those well cars with the 2 pup trailers, I don't see why since that day forward, all 53-foot well cars haven't been built to that design. They are the most versatile intermodal car going. They can car 2 pup trailers, any single trailer up to 53-feet long, and any combination of containers between 20 to 53-feet long stacked. A brilliant design that for some reason hasn't really taken off. 🤠👍
