No dramatics for the camera, no cursing & swearing, no hurtful put-downs and no unnecessary added music; just fishing without complaint, and good-natured banter. Very pleasant viewing.
Awesome. Thanks guys for these video's. Not just the fishing, but the adventure of family working together. Father passing down skills to his son's. Most of America has lost this and we can see the results in todays world. Keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing more of your video's in the future.
Thanks Roger. We hope you doing well and have fully recovered. We wish you the best and hope you can get back out fishing the beautiful streams in Canada. Take care friend.
I enjoy your video documentation immensely, It's nice to see you all working together in the family business, and T's sense of humor is a nice teenager touch. Reminds me of my son who is very similar. Thanks again for the great fishing land of West Michigan.
I think it's good to share the slow days as well as the action packed ones - provides perspective and why it's called 'fishing' not 'catching'. We like squid baits here as well for the same reason i.e they stay on the hook longer. when it's slow we double up a squid bait and fish bait on the hook so if the fish bait goes the squid is there as insurance. I can also very much relate to what you said about fishing when it's quiet - One of the reasons I fish out to sea is to escape the crowds! Thanks again for the video.
Another day upon the ocean's swell. Got yourselves some nice looking fish despite the water's tossing and turning to and fro. Always enjoyable to follow your fishing journeys. Stay Safe and Be Well! -Bob...
Nice cod and good eating I imagine. Here in QLD Australia we get nice cod on the Barrier Reef but they don’t really school up like yours. Thanks for the vid fellas.
Looking like a calm day to be out . Your numbers remind me of something someone once told me...A little bit is betta' than " nutin' " . Take care and be safe .
Hey folks, nice to see those big fat cod. I am amazed at how very much like Atlantic cod they are. They have to be the same species, which surprises me a little. I hauled a good many of those in over the gunnels when I was a lad. I am dying to get my hands on some of your Halibut. Have you worked out a Canadian delivery option yet?
Hi Fishing Magician. We are getting close to offering delivery to Canada. If you would like to be added to our notification list please email us at sales@eisalaska.com
The rockfish were sent out fresh, meaning not filleted and packaged/frozen. For the cod, these were brought in the next day to be processed, so there was no need to.
Thanks Jon. I wish there was an alert when the lens gets dirty or splashed. It's easy to miss when it gets splashed and so annoying when editing footage and it's blurry. Thanks for the reminder to check the lens more often!
The sea is far away in Chicago, I love the sea the smell of it the sound of it everything about it, I was born and raised in Ireland where the sea is not that far away at any point, miss fishing off wrecks for cod and beach casting on the strands there for European sea bass. With covid I haven't been able to visit there in the past couple of years. Love eating fish and chips (cod) there where they do it right.
Hey William! It would be very difficult being away from the sea after growing up around it. I hope the covid settles down this year and you can get back to it. Some good ol' fish n' chips sounds delicious right now!
@@dks13827 Oh, like a VHF radio. We have two. You are required to have one at a minimum. You can transmit a mayday call to the Coast Guard and other vessels. We also carry an GPS Epirb onboard that will transmit distress beacon with location to the Coast Guard, and an Inreach for staying in touch. You can send an emergency message with that too. So lots of safety comms.
Definitely this summer I'm heading down to OLH, to do halibut fishing with my uncle, though its gonna be short instead of doing are corporation pounds because it's not really worth since they take 45% of your pay which I think is unfair for fishermen who do the pounds
Hi from Ireland where I enjoy your videos while unable to fish as recreational anglers are Covid locked down to 5km. I've seen you bleed and gut the Halibut on board but after bleeding the cod went in the hold. Why is there a difference?
That's a shame Tim, hope it all blows over soon. Main reason is just industry standards, for cod we aren't required to. For the halibut we take weights to figure out our quota remaining and that is cleaned weight.
@@EISAlaska cool, thanks for explaining. No halibut here and any time I've tried a long line from my kayak it has been plagues of lesser spotted catsharks. The only time you want to see them is when nothing else is biting 🙄.
Cod usually like soft bottom, sand and mud anywhere from 10 to 100 fathoms. Deep in the winter and fall, and shallow in spring when they come up to feed on herring and sand lance and also spawn. Right now we are fishing in mid-thirties.
Never a dumb question, the reason is that we brought these in the next day to be custom processed, they were filleted and frozen. In our area gutting cod isn't really an industry standard, so we don't generally do that. Thanks Deb.
It's a different sea bottom. The cod like the sand and gravel areas, whereas rockfish like hard and rocky. Rockfish do eat the bait, but it's not necessary to use it.

nice dude!
When do you guys fish for Lingcod?
It's not a directed fishery for us, they are bycatch. We are allowed to take them starting July.
EVERYTIME “yeah” is said, everyone takes a shot.
Yeah!
Hello what's the story with the ring worm in cod fish???
Nice haul guys! Love eating cod. What kind of ground and depth are you looking for to chatch them?
Cod usually like soft bottom, sand and mud anywhere from 10 to 100 fathoms. Deep in the winter and fall, and shallow in spring when they come up to feed on herring and sand lance and also spawn. Right now we are fishing in mid-thirties.
Nice fishing we are fishing now in the france/english channel with flyshoot fishery
Nice Johan, safe travels and best wishes for a prosperous season!
ya'll doing that dock to door ?
We are Kelvin. You can order online at www.eisalaska.com Thanks
Hi Kelvin. Yes, these fish went straight to the processor to be packaged and then we sell them on our online store. www.eisalaska.com
SO WHY were the cod not gutted? just a dumb question from a land lubber here.

After 6 minutes I am #3 here.
what kind of cod are those ? sablefish ?
I'm a sporty in southern B.C.
Pacific Cod.
I watch you older guys always working ,what's the job for the boy.
Hello, where we can but those fully auto jigging set
How do you target the cod over the rock ?
It's a different sea bottom. The cod like the sand and gravel areas, whereas rockfish like hard and rocky. Rockfish do eat the bait, but it's not necessary to use it.
Does it take a commercial fishing licence to do this what you do?
👏👏👏👍
Where can buy jig cod motor and rotor ( hole set )
Try here Le Anh. alltackle.com/waterman-industries-bandit-reel-electric-12v-w-aluminum-spool/
It shall not be fish, it shall be fowl
How deep are the cod?
30-40 fathoms for this time of the year. They shallow up closer to spring.
Why don't you clean the cod?
The reason is that we brought these in the next day to be custom processed, they were filleted and frozen. In our area gutting cod isn't really an industry standard, so we don't generally do that.
What's your vote for your favorite table fare , cod or rock fish ?
Oh hard choice, I think we prefer cod for chowders, soups, and frying with batter, and rockfish for frying with panko.
Hi bro can I join you bro for a job on your boat
i'm in boats every day but i bet i would get sea sick on your boat..
It wasn't too bad this day, usually its the wind waves we'll put the stabilizers out, or when the swell is stacked up.
E-Z Baiters?
Correct, 15/0 I believe.
