He didn't even answer her question, she was asking if it would still be as efficient and have the same quality if it is payed by the fed. There are doctors who don't take Medicaid because there is a limit to how much they pay for certain services and they never receive the money they're supposed to, only what the government deems is the right amount.

Here’s my concern if this dream of free public college becomes a reality won’t jobs pay less. Think about it doctors and lawyers get payed so much. As well as people who have a bachelors degree get more money than people with a high school diploma. Now that more people have the opportunity to get a college education won't that degree become obsolete in the same fashion as a high school degree?

As an employer, part of the reason I look for college graduates is to find out how they got through college. I ask them point black about how they paid for college, because in order to even get through college, many people have to scrape and save money, some live in their cars, others work 3 jobs, join the military, etc, etc, etc. High school graduates, especially from larger city schools, are woefully undereducated, and that is exactly what you would have if you started paying for college for everyone, it would be foolish. Not only that, but there is no such thing as a "free ride", I would be paying for it, anyone who pays income taxes would be paying for it. NOT a good idea.

Roo H - I agree. To have Carte Blanche for college education, the quality of the primary education has got to step up its game. Better quality of education begins on day 1. IF those students excel, apply themselves and have shown they are capable of even achieving a higher education, they should be awarded that opportunity through grants. I also know, nothing is free. Someone somewhere will be paying. I'd hate to think of mass amounts of tax dollars were wasted on students who couldn't make it with their own motivation or interest just because it was available to them.

And multiple others that are well off without college degrees because they had the drive to work and make something of themselves. That’s what’s missing today these kids feel that everything should be handed to them with nothing in return. If you can’t afford college then get a job and work and save money. A lot of people do that. Or don’t get $100,000 in loans for a job that pays $30,000. People today are missing a lot of common sense

Sanders said a highschool diploma 50 years ago is worth what a college degree is now, after making it public and free. So he's making the point that college is becoming less valuable. Why would we water it down more by sending more people to college and making it increasingly less valuable to have a college degree? He wants to increase every hard working Americans taxes. Nothing is free. Focusing on lowering tuition for students and increasing funds for low income families is a much better solution to education and will give more opportunities to people rather than make college the new standard of education. Also why would we pay for other people's student debt? Debt is burdensome but a portion of college students are well off making 60,000$ a year or more. My friend graduated and is making 135k. Why would it be a good use of hardworking Americans dollars to relieve my friends debt, which he can easily pay on his own.

The girl actually it's pretty smart with a question. The quality when everybody goes to college goes down. It's been going down for the last 20 years in terms of the quality of the college education. Good thing that's got up is the cost of college which is three to four times the cost of living over the past 20 years. Colleges just need to reset their cost.. free college absolutely not. Norman Vincent Peale once started giving away his tapes after seminarshe found out that people threw them away. After that he began to charge for the tapes and Yuma nature kicks in and at that point the tapes had value. College is the same thing free free free Bernini..
