@Karan Kapoor tf, those were not immigrants, that guy was French, you obviously don’t know your stuff if you are just going to make statements like that which come off as xenophobic.
To answer your question, yes. At the very least we need to fix our refugee program, we're turning people away who legitimately need to enter America or they'll be killed by Hispanic drug cartels. We also have a ridiculously bad system for dealing with asylum seekers on the border, giving vague directions and sometimes telling people to show up to courts for legal hearings while the courts are closed. We don't even have temporary housing for them to live in, they practically have to wait in a homeless camp while waiting for their turn on an immigrant made queue so they can set up a court appointment that, as I said earlier, will probably have vague directions and sometimes be set during times when its impossible to show up. Our immigration process also takes several years, which is way too slow. I wouldn't even say change the immigration criteria other than for asylum seekers, just speed up the process so that people aren't sitting there for years waiting for a citizenship that might not even come. It should take 1 year at maximum, and ideally a few months. If this means hiring more government agents, cool, we can take the money away from ICE, who are currently spending the money we give them on tricking cheap hotels along the border to be used as mass detention centers for children of illegal immigrants.
@@AquaDogYT As a 2nd generation immigrant, making it too easy would be unfair. You don’t understand the tests that people have to take to come illegally. It’s hard, but fair. So what if the process is slow. Your moving to a new country. Expect complications. If ones life is in danger if they don’t come to America, it should be a temporary stay under supervision.
I'm a U.S. citizen and I have been trying to get my fiancee to the U.S. since February of 2014. We now have a five year old son. Still we're waiting to be reunited. The current immigration petition for my family and supporting them through all these years have costed me over $150,000 and is draining the life out of me every day. Anyone who said immigration is easy don't know what they're talking about. The current immigration system have separated thousands of families and is severely broken.
My dad is a legal immigrant and cost him a fraction of that to stay in america. He didnt find the system hard since he just was a good person before he came here! He worked really hard and put alot of money in the bank by doing small jobs. He did an internship type thing in america and worked super hard and the owner sponsored him. So my dad was a great prospect and sacrificed to get here.

It is terrible trying to deal with USCIS. My foreign national spouse was denied an American Tourism Visa, B2, to visit the U.S. The USCIS Officer's assumption was wrong...and they did not even look at all the evidence that I sent with my spouse to his interview for the visa. There is a lack of honesty and motivation sometimes at USCIS. Demonization is used by GOP politicians to deny changes to the immigration system. Yeah the Brits do make it fairly straightforward, although it's often very expensive (for a lifetime work visa in my profession back in 2014 when I was last interested, it would've been $3200 - the other option was one year at $1800) and unless you're in a shortage profession or otherwise have some specific special permission, Americans will generally not be permitted to.

For instance, some Mexicans who filed 4th Preference I-130 petitions in 1999 are STILL waiting for a law permanent residence visa to become available. The average American has no idea how difficult it is to gain status in this country legally on a permanent basis.
Still preferable over illegal immigration. At least the immigrants don’t get kicked up on drugs from the cartels and risk their lives trying to swim across a river.

There's millions of illegal immigrants in America. It is fairly easy (at least, too easy) to enter illegally. Entering legally may be a bit challenging, but that doesn't give anyone the right to decide they deserve to live in the country under other peoples taxes anyways. There's too many people trying to enter for things to go smoothly, and focus should be put on the people that want to enter legally instead of building free housing for illegals.

I saw a PragerU video in social studies class once. Granted, it was to show why citing from one source is bad and how it can leave you with a biased perspective.
PragerU: I wish we were in every social studies classroom across America! DoE: Granted, you are now a part of the curriculum PragerU: What is our purpose? DoE: youre used to demonstrate the importance of multiple sources from different perspectives PragerU: ....why

If I were a social studies teacher, I would absolutely play PragerU videos in my classroom. The students would then be tasked with identifying claims made in the video and putting them on one color of post it note up on the board. Then they would choose one or two, fact check them, and if they found a descrepancy, theyd write it on a different color post it and cover the original claim with the fact. “Okay kids thats the bell. I’m a child of an immigrant mother. She left Japan in order to get a better education and life (late 80’s early 90’s) she worked as a tour guide to get extra money for her education. Not to mention, she was learning English as a second language while in school. She met my dad and they fell in love. However her student visa was almost done and she could be deported back to Japan. Luckily my dad was in the Navy and was able to get her to become a citizen fast. Hearing families being thousands of miles apart because one of them isn’t a citizen yet hurts me. It’s so expensive and can take years just for one person to become a citizen.
I'm an immigrant and I apove of this video. He explained exactly what my husband and I had to do to get our green card. It's wasn't easy. My husband is now a USA citizen and I am saving to become one soon.
Why should it be easy? The USA is not obliged to give you or anyone else citizenship otherwise citizenship becomes a meaningless concept. I respect that you've done it the right way though - congratulations 🇺🇸
I literally watched the entire thing, then looked to my phone after he was finished explaining and BAM i heard "jacob, jacob pay attention" i felt like i was in the truman show or something
I recently went through the process of sponsoring my wife for her green card, and I actually think that Mr. Beat got a bit wrong here. It wasn't $535, that was just the filing fee. We also had to pay for a medical examination, pay a processing fee, and show that we had annual income of at least $60,000 in order for her to get her temporary green card. My wife just got her citizenship in January, but all told I would say that we have spent about $5,000 on her residence status. $2,500 of that was on her initial green card. We are just glad that it's over. And we didn't use a lawyer. Many immigrants have to use one to make sure that their specific situation is covered, and if you make a mistake on your application, then the government keeps the fees you paid and you have to file again, paying the fees over again. This can EASILY reach the tens of thousands of dollars for some. Not to take anything away from Mr. Beat, he did good work on this video. Just providing a little additional context to those who want it.
@@Domesthenes your perspective is super valuable under this video, it’s wild to see all the people in this comment section going through all of this. i will say that i think he did clarify the $635 was just the filing fee, implying that everything else gets more expensive.
I like how they whine about the liberal bias in classrooms, yet they try to get their clearly conservative bias videos shown in classrooms for "education."
@A Z Any stats to back that claim up? You do realize if that were to be true, there are still a plethora of reasons to explain a change in academic achievements of American children. You just watched a video disproving lies being spread by these conservatives. You really think showing American children lies and conservative brainwashing would "raise their grades"? What a joke.
@@ejr1226 so when it's conservative views it's brainwashing but when it's liberal views it's education? What a skewed way of thinking, liberal bias is a real thing that happens in most schools because overall most teachers nowadays are liberal, especially English teachers. When it comes to education both views should be showed not just whichever fits the agenda, the issue with bias in the classroom is when I give an opinion it's considered political because I am an outlier, but when a polar opinion to mine is shared it's normal, there's a serious problem with this as I cannot participate and take advantage of my education while my classmates are stuck in an ecochamber education where their views are reinforced everyday. The fact that I can't have a conversation without a teacher jumping in and trying to shut me up but not do the same with my peers is frustrating. I have to put in twice the effort if I want to avoid boot-licking for my grades all because the articles and projects give little for right wing opinion to be presented and what sucks even more is that i'm being graded on using as many of the sources provided so I am essentially choosing pride or a grade and that's just not right.

My parents immigrated to the US from India in the 90’s. The things they had to do back then to come here were pretty crazy- you had to have at least $15,000 in cash to show you could provide for yourself, usually required a college degree in a “useful field”, and have a place to live as well as a job. My dad did his MBA here and then he got his first job and he worked hard for five years before he got his green card. My mom and him weren’t married when they immigrated here and her process was a little more cray! My mom is a scientist and she worked at a few Pharma companies (and helped formulate some of the meds that many folks love!). She worked really hard and always shares that the H1 visa meant folks would literally abuse her in the work place, giving her extra hours, stealing her work, many things. And she was lucky she had a boss who had immigrated in the 60s from Germany, who understood the process. He helped her find her confidence, and know a little more about how she could be treated a little more equally. Eventually my parents met and got married, and a few years later I was the first to be born here. My parents worked really friggen hard, legally coming to the US and they’re both US citizens now (have been for a really long time). But if they were to come to the Us now, they’d be waiting on a green card for 20-30 years. The process to legally immigrate is broken and it’s unfortunate because immigrants have really made a huge difference to the development of the US. Never forget Einstein and Tesla were immigrants to the US! Villainizing people bc they look different is really stupid. And never forget. Without immigrants we’d not be able to move forward. I'm currently going through this process. My wife is american. It is so dehumanizing and long it literally makes me depressed. The us immigration system is one of the toughest in the world
One of the toughest in the world? I am from the bay area in California. Its so evident base only from observation that the culture and people has changed especially in my district. There are a lot of central migrants here and I am pretty sure they didn't follow the "correct" steps into coming in this country. Guess what? Nothing is happening to them! They are here to stay and especially with those "anchor" babies...as long as they can get their foot in the door. The babies will indeed be American and thus the freeloaders are here to stay and continue thriving here. The immigration system is absolutely swamp with backlogs. The whole "pandemic" made it no better in creating laziness among paper pusher in office. Where as everyone else...who wants to follow the correct course can take the long way since they are obeying the rules yet may never see the opportunity. As far as your status on being able to come here legally and etc. The paperwork process is a little difficult but obviously there are other factors that I am unable to account for but marriage is usually the easiest way to fast track your application. Two of my cousins who went to Thailand had no issues bringing back their wife. The only exception is my friend Jimmy who seemed to struggled with the paperwork and wonder why his fiancé still hasn't been able to come over. I believe in his case, he didn't married her properly both through the girl's country marriage system and the system we have here in the U.S. Secondly, his finance isn't stable which might explain his inability to actually support her once she moves here. Thirdly, he didn't go through a proper agency and as a result, his paperwork are a mess resulting in his third attempt. Sadly, had we have a stronger border security...there might be a better acceptance of foreigners basing on the acceptance amount and marriage guest would also be easier to fast track. Its really unfair, one side...we have people like yourself who would like to make sure everything right but on the other side. Millions upon millions pour into our country from the southern border and it isn't helping the communities, cities and states it affected through illegal immigration. Yet, many of these cities and states proudly present themselves as a sanctuary encouraging "illegal" activity.

Those are some of the hardest working men I've ever seen. They get up at 4-5am and work on houses, gardens, pools, landscaping, etc in the hot Arizona sun. Every day. As far as I'm concerned, even if all of them were illegal immigrants, they've more than earned their place in the US. Moreso than many of the American-born citizens who hate them.
A friend if mine from Guadalajara said if an able bodied man tries to beg change there they would be straight beaten by a mob. Strong work ethic. Their loitering outside of stores not begging change but ready to work!
They work for low wages, pay no taxes, come into this country illegally (making them criminals), but yet they get the same benefits of help that tax payers fund that even natural born citizens don’t qualify for. Why? Because it’s almost a guarantee that they will vote Democratic, so they let them in to win elections. Furthermore, it causes hardworking American’s wages to stagnate because business owners think why pay someone more if I can pay this person less and don’t have to pay their taxes either. It makes it harder for equally hard working Americans to earn a good wage.

@Future Caucasian politician I mentioned how the Nazis made propaganda on film, stop getting triggered. (And a lot of people use that method to manipulate, from the left to the right, from vox to pragerU)
@Future Caucasian politician if you “see” Dennis Prager “making sense” then I recommend you visit an optometrist because you need to get your eyes checked. Dennis Prager is advocating to destroy traditional American values of freedom, self-determination, and independence. To cite the specific video in question, the USA was founded and built by immigrants (for example, my 5th great grandfather John Early came to Pennsylvania in 1757 as an immigrant; he went on to fight with Washington for American independence) and immigration is a vital part of America today.
The idea that public schools in the US could actually consider allowing this into the classroom really legitimately terrifies me. Keep putting out great content Mr. Beat! You know you are credible when not everyone agrees with you, but everyone respects you!
Everyone respects him? Everyone but one. Seriously, he has a face that I would love to punch, speaking tongue in cheek, UA-cam! I oppose violence toward anyone even if I disagree. This is what separates conservatives like me from leftists like Mr. Beat.
Both my parents are immigrants. Thank you for educating people on the subject, and not fearmongering. I remember when I made a presentation in class on immigration. Most didn't believe when I said there is zero evidence immigrants are a strain on government resources.

Im here to share some good news with you. Refugees (the study was only on refugees) do cost a bit to get housed and into the community but they are a net benefit to a nations economy. This is because refugees are more likely to stay in lower paying jobs, and someone has to work them. Also lowkey US Federal minimum wage is so ridiculously low.
That's because there is evidence that immigrants are a strain on government resources. That's what they found in the most recent National Academy of Science report. Immigrant households are net tax eaters.
"judeo-christian values" shouldnt even be considered a thing. judaism and christianity have way different values and to pair them together like tgat is just plain wrong, honestly
The term was popularized during the cold war, as a way to differentiate us from Communists' values, by pointing to religious expression within the country in a way that still sounds pluralistic, as it refers to more than one religion.
I work in the same building as Prager's studio, and i run into him a lot. One time there was this random business man talking on the phone outside the building and prager walks up to him, towers over him, points and goes "Tell him i said hello!" the business man, annoyed and confused, was like "what?" and prager goes "Whoever you're talking to, tell them i said hello!"

Well, as was being shown in this video, it's not that PragerU wasn't telling some facts or truths, it's that PragerU spins those facts & truths to say that America as it is isn't the problem, it's the people who keep complaining about their problems with America that are the problem.

She cited that "If you put all illegal and legal immigrants in one state, they would be the 18th largest state in the union. Imagine how that could change our voting patterns!" I wish you were there to debunk it. Needless to say, we went home mad that day.

You hit the nail on the head on why most videos that debunk PragerU don't really work. PragerU keeps their videos short and snappy, the rebuttals are usually way longer. This particular debunking seems to have hit a happy medium in length.
It's called a Gish Gallop, Daniel, named after Duane Gish a big thinker in the Young Earth Creationist Movement of the 60s and 70s who was famous for using it as a debate tactic. You can tell a lot more untruths, misrepresentations, ignorant remarks and lies in 5 minutes of a debate round than your opponent could hope to debunk, correct or qualify in 5 or 10 rounds after that... and then you can "destroy" them for not having talked about ALL of your points and thus not having "really debunked" the complete exercise in futility. A modern form is what happened between Aron Ra and Kent Hovind, where they exchanged videos back and forth, giving their points and data and each round Kent made more and longer videos, that needed even more work to take apart and give the full factual treatment than the previous rounds' worth did... I think after 3 such rounds Aron Ra gave up as Kent refused to actually reply to any actual questions or corrections and just got less and less civil with each exchange. Another (in)famous form of this are Glenn Beck's Whiteboard conspiracy orgies... nobody can completely work through one of those 5 minute babies without 20, 30 hours of research and at least 45-60 mins of video time... which means they already lost, cause it won't get the attention of anybody who listened to the original monologue and thought "might be up to something this Beck"
@@jamesoconnor8985 For example he claimed that we don't allow the largest amount of immigrants into are country. He attacked that by using a percent of population. That's dishonest and nothing to do with anything PragerU claimed.
I immigrated to the US in 2018 on a spousal visa. It is very expensive, much more that $500 mentioned in the vid. The medical exam I had to take was another $500 alone. I am a college educated, white male from an English speaking country with no criminal history. It is still hard. I couldn't imagine trying to attempt to do it without being fluent in English, or if I didn't have the robust safety net of my friends and family. Even now USCIS has been backed up like crazy. I'm about 2 years over due for my application for renewal to be processed, and my lawyer just said to expect atleast another 12 months. I think there are plenty of misconceptions about how green cards work, as if it is just like renewing a driver's license. Things are not just automatic. Just because I've married an American citizen, does not mean I'm automatically allowed to be here. I've integrated just fine into American life and rarely feel like an immigrant. However, the few times that I have to go in to be interviewed, or have my biometrics taken you certainly feel second class. I know my experience is anecdotal, and that's not the best way to counter misinformation. I wish the average American would appreciate that it is far from easy, and if you do decide to immigrate, it was not a decision made lightly. My heart goes out to all the folk that don't have the resources/time to do it legally. They aren't "skipping the line" or being impatient; they are desperate.
When I lived in Asia it was less work than renewing a driver’s license. I wish it was the same in the US. Essentially as long as I hadn’t been in trouble with the law and remained employed (I was on a work visa). I brought some paperwork to the local government office and they punched my alien card with a new date. I can’t remember if I even had to pay anything. It’s more work to update my paperwork for my current job, as a US citizen in the US (bi-annual fingerprint required for my job, local government office will ONLY fingerprint for concealed carry permits, NOT for employment. I can go to the private fingerprinting company and pay $150 or drive 1hr plus to the nearest sheriff’s office that doesn’t require a local address to get fingerprinted for employment).
I accidentally came upon a PragerU video thinking it was one of those cool Infographic videos and within the first minute or so, I had so many red flags go up because it was more storytelling than actual unbiased information. I was lucky that I was already really into infographics and research, which is why I realized the anecdotal evidence, inaccurate information, and misusing data so quickly!

So interesting that there is verifiable proof that immigrants really help our medical system. I remember discussing that topic in high school and I said something about how immigrant healthcare workers collectively have saved my life and I was given odd looks by classmates who believed otherwise. We lived in a major metro area. Saying immigrants don't make up your hospitals and doctor offices is ludicrous. Even then I want to clarify immigrants who are artists or teachers or homemakers are just as important as nurses and doctors.
There are many foreign doctors in the US. The sad part is that we don't produce enough right here, mostly because of active restrictions by the American Medical Association. American doctors are the best paid in the world, and the AMA wants to keep a lid on the number to maintain those high incomes.
My family came to this country about a century ago. A few decades ago, my dad went to my uncle working in the World Trade Center in NYC, looked at Ellis Island, and joked “after decades of being here, we only moved a few miles.”
The U in Prager U is for "Uninformed." You showed them for what they are. Excellent work, Mr. Beat.... My family immigrated to the U.S. in the mid-1800s, moving from Baden-Baden, Germany to Indiana. Some of them helped start a mineral springs resort, which they called West Baden. Today, the resorts of West Baden and its twin town of French Lick (best known as Larry Bird's hometown) provide jobs in an otherwise depressed area were not everybody can be a pro basketball player. That's what immigration does for America.
It should be obvious to anyone that specialized industries would suffer if immigration rates went down. Not only are we an aging country, but Americans who have generations of family in the country are either benefiting from old wealth or disolutioned/unmotivated. The GOP would rather us be a country not worth moving to
True, especially when Japan is suffering from what the GOP wants for our country, Japan for a long time we’re against immigration and now that they have become a devoloped country they are paying the price for it, their population is decreasing, massive labor shortages, and now Japan desperately wants migrants to come to their country.
Should the United States make it easier for immigrants to move there?

Hey, you made a new video about immigration!
I was going to comment before the video to talk about Gravel lol
Comrade 😳
Our country would not exist. Period.
Most underrated SCOTUS case is the one in 1880 that gave the US its modern immigration system. Arguably did just as much damage as Plessy v Ferguson and the Dred Scot case.

This video by beats has a lot of issues. Legal immigration needs to be offset by illegal immigrants and those who stay past their Visa.
It’s all a mess, but their overall argument isn’t wrong. Mr. Beats nitpicks verbiage to not address the issue.
The overall issue is economics. The US has too many low skilled workers to work and not enough professionals.
Look at economics of California. It’s expensive to buy land, inexpensive to build on it.
The reason why? People use illegal immigrants to build. Diluting the actual costs of said labor.
Racism is just a scape goat to deflect from the broader issue of slave wages.

No it's not. Not if you come in illegally

They work for low wages, pay no taxes, come into this country illegally (making them criminals), but yet they get the same benefits of help that tax payers fund that even natural born citizens don’t qualify for. I saw an ad for PragerU Kids the other day, and they were bragging about how their videos always tell kids the factual truth about any topic. I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that they’re showing this to impressionable children now, or that they have the gaul to act like they never make mistakes.
Well, as was being shown in this video, it's not that PragerU wasn't telling some facts or truths, it's that PragerU spins those facts & truths to say that America as it is isn't the problem, it's the people who keep complaining about their problems with America that are the problem.

You hit the nail on the head on why most videos that debunk PragerU don't really work. PragerU keeps their videos short and snappy, the rebuttals are usually way longer. This particular debunking seems to have hit a happy medium in length.
I had to cut so much out. lol But thank you, this comment is kind.

That Michelle Malkin, a daughter of IMMIGRANTS, would turn around and promote antiimmigrant lies, says a lot about what a contemptible person she is.

American doctors are the best paid in the world, and the AMA wants to keep a lid on the number to maintain those high incomes.
its almost like this country runs off of immigrants that eventually become citizens or something

It should be obvious to anyone that specialized industries would suffer if immigration rates went down.
