    Just thought I'd elaborate on chain shifting in pressure. This game has absolute guard which means once you're in blockstun you don't have to be holding back any more to block if it's a true blockstring. Because of this, you want to be holding down or be in neutral while mashing D to get chain shift, if you're holding back or downback you'll get shield/guard shield instead which is dangerous and not what you want. By taking advantage of absolute guard you can chain shift the exact moment there's a gap in their pressure string and potentially reversal out if they're staggering, as seen in the video.

    the most interesting parts about chain shift I've found from fighting my friend's amazing Hyde(with my own Hyde) a long time ago,
    is how vs Hyde's Dash C on the enemy's wake up is one of the few, and probably rare instances where chain shift just flat out doesn't work.
    Hyde's Dash C, when perfectly timed on his enemy's ground wake up, is a surprisingly nasty cross up when not in corner.
    to the point even if you try to do your input the opposite way to match Hyde crossing over to counter or dp/super from chain shift, Hyde still just hits before your input comes-
    its cuz of this I found you just have to block it, since near nothing else works for that
    most deff the hardest part about uni is that theoretically, it can legit never be your turn when you get caught in corner,
    even with chain shift and the new creeping edge(which's very nice to have, despite still being punishable from what I recall of a video.),
    it may still not be your turn, depending on the opponent-
    thats the part I find the most interesting, as thats one of the hardest technical walls of uni to overcome, the turn taking.
    and its only 2nd to those who, I applaud, ever have the courage to play Seth(actual handbreaker) or Yuzu
    I love playin Yuzu after learning her(Hyde'll always be my fave to play, he's an incredibly fun mc to play with). she's deff easier than Seth to learn, but some of her moves legit don't got enough hitstun, so her combos can drop easily at times. Sadge

    French Bread games are unique and really beautiful, and the only reason I haven't bought this yet is because I'm worried about it becoming another discord fighter, especially with all the other great fighting game content out there right now.

    • @dragonmaster3030
      @dragonmaster3030 7 місяців тому +3

      I wouldn't worry about that too much. The newest one coming out is a 3d fighter and SF6 looks and plays much differently. From the start this will be a more underground type game as usual but I wouldn't worry about other games stealing large chunks of it's player base especially higher ranked players

    • @joilantargus5824
      @joilantargus5824 7 місяців тому +3

      No one can tell you for sure how it's gonna go. It's true that this game appeals to a particular audience, removed from the SF6 and T8 crowd, an audience that's likely already sold on it, but it's also absolutely gonna need to bring in new players if it is to have a future, and in that regard the steep competition will definitely be a factor.
      The last Melty Blood didn't perform the best and this game has no crossplay. There's a lot of things stacked against it and so there's a good chance that it only lasts a few months before becoming a discord fighter. Or it could beat the odds and capture a modest but loyal fanbase and still be active for a very good while.
      Could go either way. If you're gonna buy the game now you need to be comfortable with both outcomes.

    • @Zarrius05
      @Zarrius05 7 місяців тому +2

      I don't see why a game becoming a discord fighter is a big deal as long as you can find people to play with...

    • @dragonmaster3030
      @dragonmaster3030 7 місяців тому +2

      From what I know these are 2d animated not 3d, the old characters are rips from the previous game but the new ones out are completely fresh.

    • @Kasaaz
      @Kasaaz 7 місяців тому

      I was just wondering if it's like KOF13. It was actually easier to do all the characters as 3D models and animate them first, then just use that to generate the frames for the 2D Sprites, than it was to do all the animation and shading from scratch.

    Hey I tried to pick up tsurugi but all of his combos that the game tries to teach you rely on this really tight (I think around 4f) dash B OTG which is really hard to hit, you can’t use the macro for whatever reason, and doesn’t even have much reward because the follow up (236A) can just randomly drop depending on the situation.
    Do I just eat shit and spend 40 hours in training mode missing Dash B or is there something else I can do? Everyone else online seems to be doing like 3k damage without meter and I’m struggling to do any damage with just ABC launcher bc special or ABC special because the only option the game has for me is really tight even though tsurugi seems like a beginner friendly character.
    Also I hate DP motions so much it never works for me. how do I get better at DP on wake up? Everyone keeps just bullying me with meaties because whenever I try to DP on wake up I just keep eating counter hits because my DP input didn’t come through properly.
    I fuckin love this game it seems really cool it’s just frustrating how some stuff (the dash macro just giving you an attack if you press it at the wrong time) makes it so much more difficult for me to even enjoy low level matches against people my skill level because everyone my skill level shits out damage

    this is all a little too advance for a beginner. Im not a beginner to fighting games, but this game is so intimidating to me. I feel like i have no idea how to play neutral lol. Im master rank in street fighter and in the top towers in guilty gear. Yet, this game feels like so much more to me

    • @NickJJU
      @NickJJU 6 місяців тому +2

      Granblue is definitely gonna have a bigger playerbase. UNI has always been pretty niche, and it's got a reputation for being pretty hardcore, compared to Granblue which is one of the most beginner friendly fighting games out there. Not to mention Granblue has a free version and crossplay, so plenty more people to play with

      Despite the length of the combos, they're pretty easy, and you'll find yourself using the same 3-hit sequences in a lot of different combos. There are lengthier, more difficult combos with stricter timing for links but the basic easy combos are still long. I came from mostly playing Strive and I was able to learn my character's BnB's without any issues, even if they're around 20 hits
