Here we are with your Beginners Guide to Under Night In-Birth 2! The classic franchise returns with New Characters, New Moves, New Mechanics, oh and rebuilt from the ground up to support rollback netcode! In this video we will be covering all the main mechanics of the game so you understand how everything works and flows together. So give a watch, leave a like if its not too much trouble, and enjoy! ***edit*** at the start I say there is crossplay, apparently there is not I have been informed, my bad :(
I may have detected a minor error in your video, you state earlier that you need a lead of 6 GRD blocks for Celestial Vorpal but at 20:37 your lead is at 5 blocks and you still gain Celestial Vorpal???
@@swordchronicle To be specific you dont need a lead of 6 blocks to gain celestial, you just need to have 6 blocks or more when the GRD cycle finishes (the clock in the middle). It doesnt matter how many the opponent has at that moment, as if you have 6 or more blocks, you will always have more than your opponent, thus always winning the vorpal cycle. Celestial behaves as if you have 12 blocks initially (you can still lose the blocks gradually through the normal methods) and when chain shifting with all 12 it will give you a TON of meter, more than the max you can hold actually. Just keep in mind that like normal vorpal, if you chain shift, or use the combo veil off (the red one), you lose the celestial state. You CAN however use normal veil off and celestial at the same time, giving you a MASSIVE 40% damage boost.
So yeah, I wasn't expecting this either! Apparently it was very poorly advertised the fact that on console if you pre-order the fancy edition you can get it a few days early, so that means i actually have time to make this guide before Tekken drops lol. Ideally tomorrow expect a Choose a Main video(couldn't get that one done first, just not enough time so enjoy the beginner guide for now!) and we will go from there!
Ah finally now I know why I'm seeing people drop videos. I was so confused how people were playing and thought it was leftover beta stuff but I guess console player are lucky

@@AnthanKrufix Have you tried playing online? That's where all the crashes are on PC right now. You said you were looking forward to playing online, so that's why I memed about the crashes. I may not be into Tekken, but I'll definitely keep watching even the Tekken news and guides because I respect all the effort that you put into getting information out there!
hey roofle, you actually missed one more important part about the vorpal buff: every single character gets their kit enhanced in some way when they're in it. the simplest example I can think of is merkava. when merkava uses his EX worms, he plants 3 worms on the ground that attempt to attack you. normally, if you can force merkava to block, the worms will immediately die out. however, if merkava is in vorpal, *those worms are active unless you actually hit him.* so his oki becomes significantly more dangerous when he is in vorpal!
Most satisfying and freeflow combo system out there. And without going overboard with combo length. Took me multiple iterations to click with the game, but I’m finally fully on the Uni train. Choo choo!
That is a unique take to me. I've definitely heard people say that combos are too long and hard in this game. I love this game and i don't mind longer combos because the first fighting game i actually learded is Umvc3. I'm glad to see people jumping into this game.

now that II think about it I think i missed covering that in the video, but the main reason is when you are shielding and you get thrown, that will break your grd
Shield also locks you into stand or crouch. If you get hit by an overhead/low while shielding wrong, you get GRD Broken. In short, don't get mixed, shield predictable attacks
can someone tell me why i would use the normal blocking instead of the other one where u steal their meter, u get meter and u have no downside? or is there
I do have a question about this game since you mentioned it said A B C D as attacks, can you change it to where it says like the buttons on the controller or does it just tell you that already? Nvm i found out already that it actually tells you in the game what does what, one thing I didn’t like about Melty Blood Type Lumina was that it was just letters and stuff ❤️
How do you break someone’s guard? Every time I hit someone and I string combos they just block ALL of it but when I block the grd gauge shatters and I can’t block anymore
When you block using the D button, it becomes a Shield. Shield can block chip damage as well. However, if you get hit by an overhead attack when crouch Shielding, or get thrown when Shielding etc, your GRD breaks. Also, getting hit with your opponent's Veil Off activation will break your GRD.

Didn't know about the force function moves or the creepy roll thing
probably one of the hardest parts about UNI is that when you get stuck in the corner its theoretically possible you'll likely never get a turn again depending on match ups, even with chain shift-
I experienced this quite a lot vs my friend who's an amazing Hyde(we always Hyde mirrored cuz we played him a lot)-
Creeping Edge's a good mechanic to avoid the "it'll never be your turn" part of Uni when in corner, yet what makes it interesting is while it could save you from the corner, its punishable.
so its a choice to keep blocking so you hopefully find one small opening to breathe or risk a roll that could be punished.
Chain shift's also very interesting cuz while it pauses the game and can help(not always) to escape corner, certain interactions make it possible chain shift will fail.
Take Hyde's Dash C for example. apparently its legit a true cross-up vs a wake up on the ground, to the point chain shift doesn't work well vs it.
even if you try to use your own Hyde's DP(even reversing the control direction to account for Dash C cross up) or Gyre vortex, you just get hit by Dash C. its really menacing.
but these type-a things, while its deff frustrating, I think thats what makes Uni have a lot of charm and great gameplay with all the technical aspects-

I'm not sure if I missed it but do you still get GRD broken the same as you do in UNICLR?
🤓🍿 ty.
I haven't seen anywhere that the game has crossplay. Thats awesome if true
it does not, my mistake and changed the pinned ocmment to reflect it
I’m new to this series so I have a question do I have to play to first one to enjoy this series or can I just play this and it would be just as fun
you might wanna catch up on the story of some of the older games as this is a direct continuation, but other than that you can easily start from here
@@Rooflemonger oh okay cool
Why oh why does this game have to come out at the same time as Tekken 😭. I want to play both but I don't have the time. I hope this game is still active when I hop into it in a few months!!!
For some reason I thought French bread was saying crossplay wasn’t in? But I’m glad to know it is!
Edit* guess not lol
I am paralyzed by the Jan25th decision. I really want to play Undernight because anime fighters are my deal, but I also want to try 3D fighters because Tekken 8 looks cool. I'm already playing Granblue and there are not enough hours in a day for much more!
between this, p3, tekken, and like a dragon it’s so joever
I wish they would of pushed their release date for this game. I'm afraid it's going to be overshadowed by the release of Tekken 8.
Looks exactly like melty blood interface. I wish they would have gone more hard on this
Good game
My says comes middle of February...
This game has no cross play, its the biggest complaint on steam forums
Why did you say it has cross play?
Wow, graphics wise it's significantly better than Unist.
yeah sprites look up-ressed a bit and everything looks just a bit sharper
@@Rooflemonger Yeah the shadows and color blending looks almost like kof13.
Is there an English dub? It would be weird not to have one when there was a full English dub in bbtag
Wait, crossplay between consoles and PC? Didn't French Bread say that wasn't possible for them?
There is no crossplay thats my mistake. Pinned comment changed to reflect that
I hope that under night 2 brings this goated series out of Discord fighting mode, but I don't think it will do to lack of advertising and that people who know about how good this game is are veterans fighting game players
Since you were dwelling on it for a bit, I just want to point out that the super gauge does not say 200%
Blessings friend.
