- A fascinating peek inside one of only two HQ Bunkers in the UK which are accessible. I then activate the bunker for Bunkers on the Air on 40m SSB. Pile up time!
Mike MM6OAG, Steve and Gavin took time to give us a quick tour. The enthusiastic and knowledgeable team do full 2 to 4 hour tours by appointment. See the website and facebook page for details:

The bunker is a charity. Please donate using the paypal link on the website if you'd like to support.
Bunkers on the Air is a new and exciting amateur radio awards programme. Initially just for the month of October, it has been expanded into a continual award programme. Details here:

I seem to have accidentally uploaded a lower resolution video than normal. My software had updated and I didn't notice the settings had changed. Apologies for the resolution being lower than usual.
great that you enjoyed your visit , an immense thankyou for the advertising and your very kind donation
Thanks Mike! I hope I did it justice. Looking forward to having a full tour in the future.
Cheers, Fraser MM0EFI
Another fabulous video Fraser, what a fantastic place and a big shout out for the volunteers keeping the place running and look so good!! Really enjoyed this one despite missing contacting you 😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it! I think a few folk missed me because they were having dinner! 😃
What a brilliant place, kept in such condition, well done volunteers!
It is an amazing place and the guys have done a great job restoring it.
Cheers, Fraser MM0EFI
Back in the 1980's when I worked there I was often a Post Display Plotter when there were exercises.
I don't think the current generation understand how tense it was in the 1980's and the amount of prep that went into planning for a nuclear attack.
What a fantastic place to visit and the staff were so friendly. Well done on the Activation Fraser. I may try logging on my phone one day but for now its pen & paper logging every time for me.

Chris, I believe there is also a Bunker in York that is open to the public. Maybe worth a look.

Nice video. 73 from Dave (aka Boots) M5TXJ, one of the Craigiebarns restoration team.
Dave, You guys have done a cracking job there. It is an incredible place. 👏 🙂
Amazing!
Thanks! A great evening. 👍
Wow what a cool and unique video Fraser… Excellent stuff…😊
How did you work the antenna setup from inside the bunker?
They had a G5RV above the roof, already wired in. VHF antenna too. The local Raynet run their emergency comms from there from time to time I believe. I just supplied the FT-857d. 100 watts of raw power Dave 🤣💪

Hi there I live very close to this but can't seem to find any details is it open to the public for tours
You can contact them via their website. Just search for "roc 28 group Dundee." Private tours can be arranged .
If I had known I would have called in, 2I0ROC.
Ah well, I only posted it everywhere 🤣
Next time. 🙂
I wasn’t a member of the BOTA page at the time, nor did I subscribe to this channel so I wouldn’t have seen any of your posts about it. I am good friends with the lads at 28 Group though and sadly they didn’t say a thing about it.
Brilliant Frasier Thanks de m7gnr
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. I believe there is a similar bunker in York that is open to visitors. Could be worth a look.
