Great video, we did this in my adult ed class today, my tutor showed the technique and as I'd just thrown a small vase, she asked if I could do it to, we added slip first, dried it, added the sodium silicone, dried that, then I cut some lines using a needle tool and added and dried another layer, the slowly stretched it out. For a first attempt, ,I was really pleased, gentlemen thankyou for sharing😊
Agree. It's blurry at only 240p. Could not watch full screen (theater mode better) on 13" MacBook Pro. Could've been a poorly focused camera as well. Shirley Wydeck, Seems there's always a fool with nothing better do than leave rude, idiotic comments anywhere there's an opening... smh.
you prolly dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times then you can watch all the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few weeks :)
nice I can't think of a nicer way to spend time than with an ol' buddy chewing the fat and throwing down some great shapes. Then again I am getting on a bit funny how things change.
Published 2016, filmed with a 1990's camera flip phone, uploaded on dialup Love this technique of pottery but seriously, this videos sucks balls in visual quality

Does we use sodium silicate in slip while we do slip casting work.
And how much quantity should be use how to judge it??
Could you mix the sodium silicate with underglaze, apply it then stretch out vase???
Wow...that was super cool
Thanks, wonderful info! I feel inspired,...I have to try this!
What about porcelain? What do you think about using porcelain and the coloring method of this ?
What clay body are y'all using in this video? I'm having a difficult time finding a good clay that will stand up to this process.
Try soldate or b mix with grog. I've used both successfully (took a workshop with Randy and Don at Sierra Nevada College). @davidws37 instagram
I wish this video was in at least 720p. :(
