You should definitely do all the Beatles albums in order, each album has a distinct sound. When you get to the album titles HELP! That’s when they really turn up on their songwriting
Then - do yerself a HUGE favor and watch HARD DAYS NIGHT. You don't need to do a reaction... just add to your education with a "giant leap for mankind". Oh wait - you probably don't get that reference.
THIS ISN'T "WITH THE BEATLES" ALBUM! "thank you girl" isn't on this album. and "roll over beethoven" starts off side 2! just search - "with the beatles song list." it'll give you the correct running order of the songs.
I used to think so but the more I listen to the early stuff the more I like it. It is the underrated stuff. I MUCH prefer this to those last relative bores 'Let it Be' or 'Shabby Road' where I only rate half of the songs. These albums are exploding with joy and inspiration. My #1 LP of theirs being 'Sgt Peppers'. Last great LP of their's being 'The White Album' and also love Magical Mystery Tour and 'Rubber Soul'. 'With The Beatles is the best of the pre Rubber Soul LPs for me. John agreed and dissed their last 2 LPs. John knew best!
The Beatles have given more JOY to the Planet Earth than any other people who have ever lived. Over several generations; over the last 60 years; over the entire globe.....they are, and forever will be, beyond compare. There is the Beatles.....and then comes everybody else. WORD 😃
broo, I love your reactions and I love the content. But please listen to the UK track listings. You listened to the USA Beatles ‘second album’ which is more of a compilation. The UK albums were how the Beatles intended for their music to be heard. All of the albums are on the UK listing on pretty much all streaming platforms and the US versions are pretty much ignored. Thank you tho for the video 🙏
I hear what you are saying but, as far as listening to "With the Beatles", he may as well listen to "Meet the Beatles" next and get that out of the way, Then he can jump into "A Hard Day's Night" -- the EMI release, not the United Artists (U.S.) record or the U.S. "Something New" album, to your point. He should do AHDN after Meet the Beatles and then move on to Beatles For Sale from there.
Not entirely true they did have a couple of albums my mom had one of them that was two different versions of the with The Beatles records , The Black album doesn't have any songs from either those versions so they're not really true what happened here is he's mixing bot with the Beatles it just comes to mind and if you remember the Beatles wanted to share their earlier signs and see if they would become hits
I totally agree! The British albums are the way to go to see the progression from album to album! They didn't sync up with the American albums until "Sgt Pepper"!
Yes we want to see more! I enjoy watching you enjoying the Beatles. As a 70 yr old for me I liked all music from the Beatles and after. I didn’t care for what came before.
Listen to "Ram" (paul and Linda Mccartney) masterpiece ,1971, 60 years ahead of its time first they said it was baaaad now with the remaster versions , they realize is a timeless gem and of course "band on the run" album, ( Paul Mccartney and Wings) AMAZING !!!!!!
There are probably more videos of The Beatles than any band ever and there are videos of many of these songs played live, where they are just as explosive as on their albums. They eventually HAD to stop touring because they couldn't even hear themselves play. Check out their live vids and see for yourself. Peace.
Smokey Robinson "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" is a song written by Smokey Robinson, which became a 1962 Top 10 hit single for the Miracles. One of the Miracles' most covered tunes, this million-selling song received a 1998 Grammy Hall of Fame Award.
2nd Album released in the USA by Capitol Records in 1964 (in actuality their third album released in America in 1964 - the first one being on the Vee-Jay Records label.) This is not how The Beatles intended these songs to be released in the UK. Additionally extra echo, reverb, and harmonica were added by US engineers to suit the tastes of the American market. Despite not what The Beatles originally intended, "The Beatles Second Album" is generally regarded as a true masterpiece. Rolling Stone Magazine included this album among their top 50 Greatest albums of all time from their list of 200, and an entire book is out there, written by one Dave Marsh, specifically, ALL for the sheer importance of this album.
In 1964, 5 Beatles LPs were released in the US, they starred in the movie A Hard Day's Night and toured extensively. In April they held the top 5 positions in the Top 10. They are not among the GOATs, they are The GOAT.
The Beatles, greatest band ever. Their early music was greatly influenced by American blues and rock and roll artists. On this album they covered Chuck Berry (Roll Over Beethoven), Smokey Robinson (You Really Got A Hold On Me) and others.
Thanks for waking me up and reminding me how great The Beatles are. I own all the vinyl Beatle albums and going to start playing them again. I am a HUGE BEATLE fan, keep it coming!
This album made the Beatles the biggest selling cover band of all time but that was just the start. When the group began writing their own songs, they (Lennon/McCartney) had no idea they would become the most successful song writing duo in history!!😮😊
"Please Mr. Postman" is the debut single by The Marvelettes for the Tamla (Motown) label, notable as the first Motown song to reach the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart. The single achieved this position in late 1961; it hit number one on the R&B chart as well. "Please Mr.Postman," written by Georgia Dobbins, William Garrett, Freddie Gorman, Brian Holland and Robert Bateman.
Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford wrote this wrote the song , "Money", and from what I've read, was happy with the Beatles' cover of it...there's also a Hard Day's Night Movie released in 1964 that I love to this day. Check it out!! Smokey Robinson and the miracles wrote , "You really got ahold on me". I think the Beatles wrote the remainder of the lp.
Lead vocal on "You Really Got A Hold On Me" is John Lennon, not George. When you listen to these early albums you really get a good hit of what a great rockin' singer John was.
Right, not long before the second album. Meet The Beatles began with their American debut single I Want To Hold Your Hand which came out in Early December 1963, by the time The Beatles arrived in America on February 7th, 1964 they were already America's number 1 group. In fact, it sold out long before they got here, totally amazing.
Fantastic. Best band there will ever be. And they changed the world in just 8 years. It’s so good you are doing the early stuff - and only a few years later, they did Magical Mystery. I subscribed hoping for more 😊
THIS is my favorite 'early Beatles' LP. John agreed! Great originals and KILLER covers! Btw that was not George on lead vocals on 'You've really got a hold on me!' it was John, the Rocker! It's the 60's original version of 50 cent attitude; as you say about their wants; 'In da Club'! *The Beatles are THE GOAT!*
Keezy, "you really got a hold on me" was originally done by Smokey Robinson, they beatles loved Motown music and covered a few different songs in that style 😊
Back in the early 1960s, when they were playing at the Cavern Club in Liverpool and the Star Club in Hamburg, the Beatles were the greatest rock’n roll band on the planet. The first couple of albums were basically their live sets put into vinyl. The fact that they went on to invent new musical forms which would create the foundation for most modern music is just astonishing. That they did it all in just seven years defies logic. Follow their journey and your musical life will never be the same😎
The Mono and Stereo mixes are different for "Thank You Girl", for example, which has a blistering drum fills by Ringo at the end. In the Stereo version, John's harmonica is louder than the drums.
'Long Tall Sally' is a Little Richard song which McCartney used to do in Hamburg. 'She was Just Seventeen', from their first album was a tribute to this song. Little Richard was impressed enough to record his own version of 'Seventeen'.
I think you picked a playlist rather than the album bro ... Some songs are missing like All My Lovin and It Won't Be Long and All I Gotta Do ... and Can't buy me love is from A Hard Days Night Album not With The Beatles.
He played the tracks from The Beatles second USA release “The Beatles Second Album”. Complicated, but UK released LP’s as The Beatles intended without including single releases. In the USA Capitol Records repackaged Beatles music with fewer tracks & included single releases. Basically, Capitol Records released more Beatles LP’s & made more cash.
@richardbeaton7324 The photo of the album he has up on the screen is the "WITH THE BEATLES" their TRUE 2nd album in the UK. The songs he is playing are from the 2nd album in the U.S. called "The BEATLES SECOND ALBUM" He has the WRONG album cover up next to him. When he showed the song list on the album there was a small picture of the cover of the U.S."The Beatles' Second Album" which has a white background and several square and rectangular boxes with differnent photos of the Beatles done in a brownish "sepia" tone.
It is pronounced Bate hoven. This was a cover of a Chuck Berry song. Long Tall Sally was a cover of Little Richard Both American Black Rock and Roll Artists. The Beatles were immensely influenced by music 🎶🎼 coming across The Pond ❤
Looks like you caught Beatlemania, son. Check out "The Meetles" playing in NYC subways stations, people go nuts! Do the albums in order, just go nuts 'cuz the world needs The Beatles more than ever.
The Beatles did a lot of covers of songs by black American artists that heavily influenced their music when they were first starting out. "Roll Over Beethoven" is a cover. It was originally done by the legendary Chuck Berry in 1956, "You've Really Got a Hold On Me" was originally done by Smokey Robinson and the Miracles in 1962 and "Please Mister Postman" was originally done by the Marvelettes in 1961.
This blows my mind. I was going to recommend you check out this album - became of all the R&B influences. So you'd understand their influences better - Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Smokey Robinson etc. Btw the cover you're showing is their 2nd album in BRITAIN With the Beatles
I agree. I can't figure out WHY I can only comment under some one else's comments but not my own at the very top!? Never happened before. I try to type and nothing shows up. WEIRD.
That was PAUL doing "LONG TALL SALLY" which is a cover of a LITTLE RICHARD song. It was usually the last song done at their concerts, alternating with "I'M DOWN" (another rocker ) which Paul wrote and sings. They closed their concert with one of those two. OH, that was NOT GEORGE who did that high note on "YOU REALLY GOT A HOLD ON ME". THAT was JOHN LENNON! GEORGE is singing harmony with John .
As someone mentioned, this appears to be a playlist that is in the wrong order and is missing some tracks. I’ll also point out that there are beatles albums as originally released in the UK, but also foreign versions with different track listings, as well as releases exclusive to certain markets (like “Meet the Beatles!” released in the US or “Twist and Shout” album released in Canada). The songs “I want to hold your hand” and “She loves you” were on the 2 albums I just mentioned, respectively, and were released as singles in the UK but were NOT released on albums there. I suggest to listen to those 2 songs at least, because they are 2 of the most popular and recognizable Beatles tracks but you’ll miss out if you only listen to their albums.
@Kezzyboii ***** You ARE NOT listening to the WITH THE BEATLES album which IS pictured next to you, but what you are listening to is NOT the track listing for WITH THE BEATLES.... HERE are the songs on WITH THE BEATLES: SIDE ONE SIDE TWO 1) It Won't Be Long 8) Roll Over Beethoven ************************************* 2) All I've Got To Do 9) Hold Me Tight I HOPE YOU WILL REACT to the 3) All My Loving 10) You Really Got a Hold on Me CORRECT TRACK LISTING on the 4) Don't Bother Me 11) I Wanna Be Your Man "WITH the BEATLES" album I listed 5) Little Child 12) Devil in Her Heart on the LEFT 6) Till There Was You 13) Not a Second Time ************************************** 7) Please Mr. Postman 14) Money
@@patticrichton1135 It was called the Beatles Second Album, which was released later in 1964. I think it was just before the Movie A Hard Days Night came out.
Do more Beatles. Historically, the Beatles would release albums in England and then the American record company would make up it's own America-only albums by picking and choosing songs from the original English albums. This is one of the America only albums. It would be good to know whether a album is the original English release or an American composite album.
I accidentally named Beatles 62-66 and Beatles 67 -70 when I meant Beatles Past Masters One and Two. Past Masters are the two albums that have all the non album singles on them. That said, "Red" (62-66) and "Blue" (67-70) are very good albums to make a playlist out of on your favorite streaming service.
Rollover Beethoven is a Chuck Berry tune sung by George You Really Got a Hold On Me is a Smoky and the Miracles song with John lead vocals Devil in Her Heart is a Donays (girl group!) George lead vocals Long Tall Sally is a Little Ruchard tune, Paul on lead vocals..
No that;s John Paul & John were the main lead vocals. Paul is currently touring, John and Paul and George and Ringo all have solo projects beyond The Beatles.
OK Kezzy! Let's ROCK, brother! How did you like that?? I knew you would clock how much FIRE the Beatles caught and created back in 1963 and headed into 1964! There's much more to come! SO! Here is what the deal is: The list of songs you just listened to was from an album called "The Beatles Second Album", released April 10, 1964 on CAPITOL records. But, the Beatles actual 2nd album was called "With the Beatles" and it was released on EMI records in November of 1963. Without going into too much detail, just understand two things: 1) it took Capitol Records most of 1963 to catch up to and understand what The Beatles were all about. When EMI representatives went to Capitol Records, on several occasions in 1963, to get them to release Beatles' singles -- understand that EMI is/was Capitol Records PARENT COMPANY -- the Capitol records reps said "no"!! Can you believe that? Capitol was convinced the Beatles' music would not translate to the American audience. But, as their popularity grew and grew -- and "Beatlemania" broke out in Europe -- they finally said yes, Capitol will back the Beatles and release their singles/albums. Finally! So, by the time they were ready to release albums, the Beatles already had two full albums out and several singles. So, Capitol had a lot of catching up to do! Ok, and 2) the U.S. releases of Beatles' albums were different from the British/EMI releases, for a few reasons, which I won't elaborate here, but I will say that the song-lists were different. So you just listened to the U.S. release of music from their "With the Beatles" album and several singles all combined on the "Second Album". That's cool and I understand why you enjoyed that because that album ROCKS! Well, what you need to do next is listen to the first U.S. Beatles album (on Capitol Records, that is) and it is called "Meet the Beatles". Meet the Beatles includes most of what you missed from the EMI-released "With the Beatles" and it is actually considered a very, VERY great album (it's # 197 of Rolling Stone's list of the 500 most influential albums). One thing that makes it "better" than the With the Beatles album is that it does not include most of the cover songs (there is 1 on there but WTB has 6!) and mostly focuses on their original songs. Basically, the set list on Meet the Beatles is WICKED! Note, you have already heard one of the songs, "I Saw Her Standing There". That song was included from the Please Please Me album on the U.S. Meet the Beatles album, but everything else you have not heard. Believe me, it is an amazing album and you will get blown away, my friend! Woo! So look up "Meet the Beatles", get that song-list pulled up and let 'er rip!
with the beatles" is a great album. "till there was you" and "devil in her heart" are 2 songs i could without. this was the actual start of "beatlemania!." (also that's the title to the canadian version of this album.) it was building up for about a year. then august '63 saw the release of the mega-hit single "she loves you" followed quickly by the even bigger mega-hit single "i want to hold your hand" and "with the beatles" in november '63. within a few months the latter propelled the beatles to international superstardom! beatlemania lasted until august 1965 with the release of their 2nd film "help!" and its soundtrack. "rubber soul" followed displaying a rather noticable new direction in beatles' music and persona. the beatles stopped being mop-top pop stars (I LOVE THIS PERIOD) and became cultural icons and music legends. (I LOVE THIS PERIOD TOO!) thanks for the video.
I listened to the first few albums on repeat when they came out, because that was Beatlemania. Every song rose to number one on the charts, only to be replaced by another Beatles song. But the albums get better, and the Fab Four grew and evolved. You got a taste of it with Magical Mystery Tour. I'm glad you are going through these first albums like we did, so you can experience their change and just marvel. I haven't listened to these first few albums like this, in their entirety, in 55 years. So, thank you for bringing me along on your trip. It's a hoot and a holler.
Please do all the Beatles albums. I love hearing them again in order on the album and watching your reactions. It’s just priceless.❤❤ The greatest band of all time. Until the politics and drugs got involved in Music, it was always about the girls! I will be listening to the Beatles until the end of my days.🎵🔥❤️❤️😎🇨🇦
This is the British album. In the US it was called ‘Meet the Beatles’. There were fewer covers on the American album. So you can see how they started, as a tight little RnR band.
I laughed my ass off this entire reaction!! That is awesome you’re doing full albums…keep going with the Beatles and Led but here are some other albums I HAVE to see you react to as well: David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Allman Brothers - At Fillmore East 🔥🔥 Stevie Wonder - Innervisions Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Is this the American version of the second album? You definitely gotta do the English versions of their albums. That’s how they were intended to be heard.
The thing is, the Beatles albums were released in the UK under Parliphone Records and in the US by Capitol Records. Now what Capitol records did was shorten each album so songs that were on the UK release were not on the US release. Capitol Records wanted to limit the size of releases to be able to put out more records and make more money. From what I can tell you are listening to the UK version. So the US has albums released that the UK never heard of, even tho the songs were already on albums they already had.
Honestly I wouldn't even use UA-cam as a source when listening to full album. Use apple music or spotify. They will almost always have the correct album and track listing orders.
The Mamas and the Papas did a cover version of "I Call Your Name." John Lennon has said that "You Can't Do That" is one of his favorites that he had written.
The US (Capitol) album was "Meet the Beatles" with different songs. It's worth hearing that one too. Capitol made different albums for the American audience than the British (EMI) versions and so, many songs overlapped. I guess you need to choose which catalog of records you want to play.
You should definitely do all the Beatles albums in order, each album has a distinct sound. When you get to the album titles HELP! That’s when they really turn up on their songwriting
I agree. And add in the great non-album singles at the appropriate times.

This is very cool. I really don't know of any other band that grew and changed as much as these lads! ❤️✌️
More Beatles please hearing the early records again remembering what an impact they had.
When they threw that Ska in the middle of I Call Your Name, you knew they meant serious business. They weren't just another trifling band.
The more Beatles you play, the more I like you. This rabbit hole has no bottom.
You Really Got A Hold On Me written by Smokey Robinson.

Hard Days night is next. It's also a movie.
Roll over Beethoven, (that is the famous composer, Beethoven!) was written by Chuck Berry.

Devil In Her Heart was George yet I understand the confusion cause their voices were so perfectly matched with each other.
"Roll Over Beethoven" is a cover of Chuck Berry. R&B. One of the first to cross over from Black to whites-only radio.
There will never be another recording act like the Beatles!😮😊

Not only their early music.
In 1964, She loves You started everyone chanting yeah yeah yeah very popular during Beatlemania.
Little Richard wrote and performed the original song "Long Tall Sally". The Marvelettes did "Please Mr. Postman".
The Beatles just covered it.
"You really got a hold on me" was sung by Lennon
And written and originally performed by Smokey Robinson who had a major hit with the song in 1962.
@MsAppassionata I commented that before I commented about lennon singing it lol. I forgot to mention it in my first comment.
I always thought this one was better than their first Album!

I've never listened to this whole album before. It really shows how early it was. Raw talent, energy, style. Old school.
But with a new style Liverpool twist😊
@MsAppassionata and steadily getting better
It a good album just kinda wished he listened to it in order and not shuffled
You can see how The Beatles evolved to Magical Mystery Tour in just a 5 years or so.
LOVING THE BASQUIAT HOODIE
Remember their sound at this stage. Keep going. I know I will enjoy watching you listen to their evolution. Thanks!

I concur on doing the Original British albums.
@richardbeaton7324 The photo of the album he has up on the screen is the "WITH THE BEATLES" their TRUE 2nd album in the UK. The songs he is playing are from the 2nd album in the U.S. called "The BEATLES SECOND ALBUM"
He has the WRONG album cover up next to him.
Long Tall Sally was a cover of Little Richard
Both American Black Rock and Roll Artists. The Beatles were immensely influenced by music 🎶🎼 coming across The Pond ❤
Excellente vidéo. Hâte de te voir réagir aux albums suivants !
Hi from France.
Looks like you caught Beatlemania, son. Check out "The Meetles" playing in NYC subways stations, people go nuts! Do the albums in order, just go nuts 'cuz the world needs The Beatles more than ever.
I hate when I don’t get notified! Let’s Go Kezzy!! ✌🏻🧡
Long Tall Sally was Paul doing a great cover of a Little Richard song.
I Call Your Name's midsection was ska/bluebeat influnced, which was big in England at the time.John loved ska,and eventually, reggae music
WEIRD.
A Hard Day's Night next, please!
On You've Gotta Hold on Me it is john that does the falsetto part you like.
Get this. When the Beatles formed Paul had to teach John how to play guitar, because John only knew banjo chords
I told you. You put it out I'll be there.
Kezzi, you heard “She Loves You” which they made reference to in the outtro section of “All You Need is Love”!
You’re hilarious. And you play this great music☮️
😂😂😂😂🙏🕊👍🪲🪲🪲🪲🍏
Beatles 1 is an album of all of their #1 hits. Isn’t it amazing that they had enough #1s to create an entire album.
Beatles are beautiful fire 🔥🪲🪲🪲🪲⚡️😄2024
HERE are the songs on WITH THE BEATLES:
SIDE ONE SIDE TWO
1) It Won't Be Long 8) Roll Over Beethoven *************************************
2) All I've Got To Do 9) Hold Me Tight I HOPE YOU WILL REACT to the
3) All My Loving 10) You Really Got a Hold on Me CORRECT TRACK LISTING on the
4) Don't Bother Me 11) I Wanna Be Your Man "WITH the BEATLES" album I listed

@@patticrichton1135 It was called the Beatles Second Album, which was released later in 1964. I think it was just before the Movie A Hard Days Night came out.
More beatles...i k beatles fan.
Fab four and Best band
Definitely recommend listening to them in release order and look at when each album was released

The Beatles turn every cover into something better because their versions are always better to me
They all can go high except Ringo That was John doing that high one on you really got to hold on me.
Do more Beatles.
Historically, the Beatles would release albums in England and then the American record company would make up it's own America-only albums by picking and choosing songs from the original English albums. This is one of the America only albums. It would be good to know whether a album is the original English release or an American composite album.
Long Tall Sally
Still dancin' to it today Kezzy
💃💃💃💃💃
More Beatles.
Rollover Beethoven is a Chuck Berry tune sung by George
You Really Got a Hold On Me is a Smoky and the Miracles song with John lead vocals
Devil in Her Heart is a Donays (girl group!) George lead vocals
Long Tall Sally is a Little Ruchard tune, Paul on lead vocals..
Woo! So look up "Meet the Beatles", get that song-list pulled up and let 'er rip!
love from canada❤
Nice reaction Kezzy ... enjoyed it. I like the way you respond to music.
Deffo carry on with the albums ;)
with the beatles" is a great album.
(I LOVE THIS PERIOD TOO!) thanks for the video.
why are starting on side 2? you're playing it out of sequence.
This is the album that followed Meet the Beatles in the US. He's showing the album cover of their 2nd album in Britain lol.
I laughed my ass off this entire reaction!! That is awesome you’re doing full albums…keep going with the Beatles and Led but here are some other albums I HAVE to see you react to as well:
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Allman Brothers - At Fillmore East 🔥🔥
Stevie Wonder - Innervisions
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Is this the American version of the second album? You definitely gotta do the English versions of their albums. That’s how they were intended to be heard.
Some of these on their first few records were covers there's probably a soul sister group that did this in America.
Do number 3!! Loved your presentation!
Digging these reactions!
Really got a hold on Me. John sings lead.
you have got to check out george's solo album All Things Must Pass, its beautiful
More beatles pls
man, I'm loving these Beatles videos
Love your reviews
Honestly I wouldn't even use UA-cam as a source when listening to full album. Use apple music or spotify. They will almost always have the correct album and track listing orders.
The Mamas and the Papas did a cover version of "I Call Your Name." John Lennon has said that "You Can't Do That" is one of his favorites that he had written.
The Mama's cover of I Call your name is one of the best Beatles covers ever. I love both versions.
The US (Capitol) album was "Meet the Beatles" with different songs. It's worth hearing that one too. Capitol made different albums for the American audience than the British (EMI) versions and so, many songs overlapped. I guess you need to choose which catalog of records you want to play.
