Truly a master of her craft, I always love getting out of my death metal comfort zone and hearing something new. Lets hang while I react to Battle Beast - Master of Illusion!

If you like this band, you may also like Beast in Black. It has some of the same people who were originally part of Battle Beast, and it also is amazing power metal with fantasy themes and an amazing singer. He even did a cover of Nightwish's Ghost Love Score that's worth watching. His name is Yannis Papadopoulos.

I didn't know they mingled with Beast in Black but that makes sense since their sound is definitely similar and I found Battle beast after listening to them.
Kamelot did a USA tour with Sonata Arctica and Battlebeast in 2019. I saw them live in Chicago. Kamelot has some songs with featured female vocals. Battlebeast's singer, Noora, came in during Kamelot's set to do the clean feature vocals on songs like Liar Liar and Sacrimony. She was awesome. I've never seen so much energy and stage presence in a front man or woman
Noora louhimo, the singer in battle beast, has participated in song videos by Hammerfall and Amaranthe. Both are pretty cool.

She did song Strong with Swedish band Amaranthe. They have Elize Ryd as their main vocalist. Young, VERY beautiful girl/young woman. Amaranthe did collab's with Sabaton and also with Arch Enemy. You should listen to those too.
Battle Beast's Black Ninja song is pretty straight forward but there you can hear how high Noora can really go with her Dio kind of voice.
Elize is 37 and thus four years older than Noora 😀. They both just have different role they take when performing and are styled differently.
I've been listening to this song since the algorithm served it up to me. It's the definition of taste! Everything in this song is so intelligently placed and carried out, every single part helps tell the story.
The first time you hear her voice, we see in your eyes my man :) She has the same effect on me! First time I hear this band tonight. So beautiful, so powerful, so uplifting :) What a discovery !!

A small recomendatio for Mark. As you're going more into Power Metal should give a shot to Sonata Arctica they're from Finland and are a really Sick Power Metal Band (Even tho they're going more with the Prog Metal style recently)

Yeah, this lady right here is my big favorite right now! She's featured in a ton of other bands songs. This particular song isn't even close to being the best example of her singing capabilities, but she still sounds amazing.
Love that Noora is able to shake 50k people at Wacken with Battle Beast and a while later sing with her Noora Louhimo Duo covers in a tent with 50 people with the same dedication.

I saw them in Atlanta in 2018 with Kamelot and Delain. Hell of a stage presence and she was pulling off these amazing vocals while being VERY active on stage. I'm also there with you, I'd love to see them with Unleash The Archers.
Not really a collab where they perform together, but Powerwolf has had other bands do covers of their songs and released on their albums.

There hasn't been a BattleBeast x UtA collab, but there **is** a BattleBeast x Amaranthe collab out there. The song is called "Strong" by Amaranthe.
Brittany Slayes just appeared as a guest artist on Star One's latest single, Fate of Man. (Star One is a side project of Arjen Lucassen if that name rings a bell) The song is based on Terminator and cheesy as hell, but boy is it catchy as hell and showcase Brittany's voice

I'm not a nationalist type, don't know why I should be proud of her being a Finn (like me), but certainly I do get to listen more domestic artists than foreign, and I see Noora more in media than foreigners do.
And I am a big fan of her, both voice and the person.

You should do one for "Rise of the dragon empire" by Bloodbound. Such an upbeat song that is pretty easy to sing along to. Plus, the music video is very well made. #powermetal

You really should listen Finnish metal band Wintersun and their Sons on winter and star. Something that will blow your mind.
This. Wintersun is a crown jewel. For people who consider Nightwish too soft and having too thin soundscape.

He's the grandmaster of this kind of singing and even though a lot of singers are inspired by him and do what he does really well (like Brittney from UtA), none of em come close to the insanity Daniel can do. I really recommend you check him out. Lost Horizon - Highlander (The One) or Cry of a Restless Soul
Yes! Love Battle Beast. If you're looking for more power metal, I'd highly recommend Avantasia. Beast in Black are also fantastic.

Both as a an amateur vocalist and as a person, when I talk to someone i tend to accommodate my gesticulations and mimics to that of a person I'm talking to. It is completely subconscious. That same thing happens also when I'm covering someone's vocals, and I think I have become quite proficient and successful in doing so. Also, my friends and colleagues have told me i can do really good imitations of other people :)

Definitely check out Gloryhammer. Unfortunately they fired their very talented singer this summer via an email but there is a live performance from Wacken 2019 on UA-cam which might be interesting. Elizabeth from the Charismatic Voice already reacted to this one.
Listen to a live version of one of their songs called King For A Day. She's absolutely CRUSHING it just as good live too.

Noora is amazing. If you want to hear her singing in her native Finnish (the whole band is from Finland) without as much rasp, you should check out her cover of a song called "Nukutaan". It's really nice.

Another song by Battle Beast that shows off the singer's capabilities is "Show me how to die", I think it's their old singer, but she's also just as great.
Mark, check out music by GHOST and NIGHTWISH. They're brilliant as well! BATTLE BEAST is by far my favorite band, but GHOST and NIGHTWISH are wonderful as well.

You really need to here more of Battle Beast.
The points you are highlighting is absolutely true, and why we love Battle beast.
But this track is not even on the high scale of Nora's raspyness and high pitch.
Same goes for the guitarist who always creates the absolute perfect solo for each track, with all the elaborated melodic and wild elements.
You don't have to be a power metal... Or even a classic metal fan to like Battle beast.
Their style is just so drawing, catchy and always in the pucked...

As for our lady and saviour(ess?) Noora, if you are down for more, "Eternal wheel of space and time" - song of her side project, kinda more... folky? countryey? I dunno what I would call it. Sounds as amazing tho.
Also, speaking of Amaranthe and Battle Beast, if you do Amaranthe, they've done a song where their clean female vocal(Elize Ryd) does duet with Noora of Battle beast, song called "Strong". So if you do some Amaranthe song w/ Elize(maybe GG6?), that would be a nice later reaction, too.

I'm not a power metal guy either, I listen many sub genres of metal and quite different genres. And good vocalists! I like Battle Beast, they have fierce hard driving heavy songs and more symphonic and dancable like this one. But main attraction is Noora for me though.
My first time to listen your channel and it was fun: looking at your channel videos, there's lots of things to see.
Noora (the lead singer) when you watch her talk in interviews on YT she talks with rasp so when she sing with grit it's natural for her.
Still she can switch it off when she wants and sing pure clean songs.
You should totally check out Helix by Amaranth. I'm curious to hear your input on all three of their voices!
The reason that Noora (the lead singer) is able to belt and keep that distortion is because her voice is naturally gravely.
Brilliant song and band. You need to react to the brand new Battle Beast song Eye Of The Storm that was released just a couple of days ago. Noora's voice in that one is even more impressive if possible.

Fun thing is, Noora wasn't a natural at this kind of vocals. She's practiced several hours every day since she was 15 to reach this level. All the more respect to her for that

Noora always says she started putting that rasp in her voice because she's a big fan of Janis Joplin who is her idol.
She also sings a smoother kind of music, soul-ish, in her own project Noora Louhimo Experience.
That "cutting phrases" thing you talked about, I don't want to sound like an idiot, but I noticed It's also kind of how Finnish sounds. So I guess it also comes from her roots. I've been driving a few Finnish bands for a festival lately and I noticed Finnish sounds like that when they were talking to each other.
I've seen Battle Beast 3 times this year, last time was one week ago in a quite little venue where I actually had my hands on the stage's floor (until they started using fire effects 😅). This is one of Noora's favourite songs to perform live she said. The three shows were a blast, I'm so happy I was lucky enough to be there 👌.
In the song "Where Angels Fear to Fly", she hits an even higher note than at 11:24.

An amazing collab would be between battle beast & gloryhammer. I'd pay any amount of $$ to see that show. 😍
Their previous vocalists Nitte Valo has quite a voice also, if you like to check it out. Iron Hand official live (2012) could be the song to go with. From Finnish female Metal vocalists Heidi Parviainen might also be interesting listening to a vocal coach. I'd suggest the song "Save Me" by her current band Dark Sarah (Cinematic Symphonic Metal). And Netta Laurenne, who has done projects also with the current Battle Beast singer Noora Louhimo. From her I'd suggest her Joe Bonamassa cover from Mountain Climbing (Live 2017). A Cappella groups should interest a vocal couch (Rajaton - Butterfly (Live) or Club For Five - Brothers in Arms (Live 2009). Could be interesting to hear a reaction also to Finnish Yolk tradition (Karoliina Kantelinen - Soittelen Soutusalmen suorimaista (2008)). From Technical Death Metal genre Demilich - When the Sun Drank the Weight of Water (1993) and from Melodic Folk Pagan Black Metal genre Vorna - Yksin (2015).
Noora Louhimo has collabed with many bands but Hammerfall was honestly the best one

No silent letters has nothing to do with the staccato style.
Native English speakers surely hear stuff we to whom English is a foreign language, can't hear. Finnish has emphasis in the beginning in the words, she pronounces more carefully when singing foreign language, our sounds are a bit different... but I think the stabbing style is just to emphatize, add weight.

Battle Beast is my favourite band, I saw them live 9 times, they always kick ass live and Noora is an amazing vocalist. But I didn't really like their latest album, this song is great again tho. Check out Black Ninja for her early times in Battle Beast
That album got highest music list ranks Battle Beast albums have got. But I hear some fans wanted more agressive stuff. To me this song reminds very much "No More Hollywood Endings" being from the more symphonic and dancable end of Battle Beast songs. Would very well fit on that album you didn't like so much.

She got a cool voice, I saw them when the guy/songwriter from Beast in Black was still in it, sounded exactly like the recording. However I think the songwriting has turned for the worse after he got kicked. Cool stuff tho!
