Introducing Trip, New Sonic Character!

In a recent interview between IGN and Takashi lizuka covering Sonic Superstars, lizuka provided many more details about the new Sonic character or villain! We now know that the new Sonic character is named Trip and he is most likely a resident of the Northstar Islands. Trip is teaming up with Fang the Sniper who is has been hired by Dr. Eggman! Sonic Superstars looks great so far and Trip seems like a new fun addition to the classic cast of Sonic characters. I can't wait to see more interactions between Trip and Fang! I hope you enjoy the video!

I mean i think it fits in with the rest of the cast, sonic is fast, tails has 2 tails, knuckles likes to fight, eggmans shaped like an egg, only real outlyer is amy

I actually think it is nice that we are getting more robot characters in Sonic: for the past few years it's only been orbot, cubot, and Metal Sonic. Plus plus Trip and Fang give off serious Team Rocket vibes😹

Trip is actually a girl, and before anyone comes at me and demands proof. It's stated on the official website.
"Not much is known yet about Trip, the mysterious girl first encountered by Fang on the Northstar Islands. While a bit clumsy, Trip is heavily armored and has been enlisted by Fang and Dr. Eggman to protect and guide them around the wonders of this uncharted region."
So we know she's an inhabitant of the Northstar Islands. But as to what she is, we'll have to wait and see. I'm hoping she's some kind of Lizard, cause we could use more reptilian Mobians. But she might be another Marine/Sticks type character.

Trip is a clean slate, I'm very curious to see what his role will be and if he'll stay as an antagonist force or if he developes into a good guy. Perhaps Trip will be neutral and persuadable, a character that can be on either side depending on circumstances.

I am legitimately more concerned and upset over the fact that it looks like they gave Fang five-fingered hands rather than the correct four-fingered.
So, its not really a big of a deal i could live with it

@@lucasw1348 Because even though these cartoon animals are more like humans with superpowers in animal bodies (and even then often only barely resemble the animals they’re supposed to be), I like when animal characters come with reminders that they’re actually animals. Things like Espio constantly changing colors in his idle animation in _Knuckles’ Chaotix_ and _Sonic Prime_ showing Rouge taking a nap by wrapping herself up in her wings and hanging upside down from a palm leaf like a real Honduran white bat would, that’s good stuff to me (and yes, there actually is a real species of fruit bat with white fur and black wings and they’re adorable).
Classic Fang is a great example of this. Real jerboas do have slightly springy tails that can sometimes act like an extra limb, and this is reflected well in Fang’s moveset in _Sonic the Fighters,_ not to mention _Triple Touble_ showing him leaning on his tail and at times outright using it as a spring. Real jerboas also, unlike most mammals, do have only three or four (depending on species) digits per paw. Older official artwork of Fang accordingly shows him with four fingers per hand as opposed to everyone else’s five. I’m just saying, with promotional material for this game finally officially outright calling him a jerboa like his designer intended, it’d be nice if they stayed true to that. Believe me, I’m aware that it probably shouldn’t bother me as much as it does.

I think Trip is not a robot. He is armadillo lizard. Perhaps that's his armor (not his body part), or armor gived by eggman or eggman robotized him

@Balan Wonderworld no, his tail is nothing like raccoon's one. We already have two raccoons in sonic. And you should see how raccoon tail looks like. Trip's tails is spiky, just like armadillo lizard, also it's more original, because I am tired of sonic dobblegangers, hedgehogs, robots, Gods, echidnas, two cats, two racoons, green birds, too many purple characters. Trip for sonic game is original, he bringing something new. I don't remember any armadillo lizards exists in cartoons or games.

Trip is a very curious character yet the most adorable villain of the classic Sonic era. It let me think who is behind her hat and we are all curious to see a reveal of her identity, also her clumsy attitude and every time she trips really matches her name.
I want to consider Trip like a neutral and not evil if maybe she didn’t got tricked like Knuckles or maybe get brainwashed, but this is only a myth
