I'm impressed with the grid (as opposed to Pokemon's turn base with just menus) and the writing (foreshadowing of the giant robots and 4th wall breaking of why you search everyone's home).
I can say that this game looks like a cross between Pokemon and Mega Man. Some things I wish they put in the game are: 1. A level-up system: As you win battles, whatever mons were used and survive in the battle get experience points, and level up upon getting a certain number. Or, upon winning a battle, you pick one mon to level up that has stronger moves, etc. This would help the feel of your team getting stronger over time, and maybe lead the way for evolutions of your mods down the road. 2. A PC system: Since you can only have 6 mons with you at any one time, finding a place that lets you deposit and withdraw mons as well can help so that you'll able to catch all 60+ mons in the game without worrying about party space (when you catch one, you need to release one). This can also help with certain boss battles, since if you told in the game that a boss relies heavily on one type of mon, you could bring it a team of mostly superior types to counter them. 3. "Pokemon Center:" Having a place in each turn where you can heal mons for free can help so that you don't have to keep hunting repair kits all the time. In summary, the game looks like a great take on Pokemon: The Board Game, and if can introduce some stuff from the video games into Robomon to make the experience so that healing is more frequently (and free), you feel that your mons are getting stronger after X battles (level-up system), and solve the 6-party limit with some PC storage or something, it would be a better experience for everyone.
2 and 3 are in the game. You can keep any numbers of Robomon, but only 6 ready to fight at one time. And there are free repair centers to rest at (a limited number of times though, so repair kits are still useful).
@@OneStopCoopShop according to how many time your going to be able to get new robomon do you think the lacl of level up skill for our robomon is a lost opportunity ? In my mind it is more of a way to prevent too much grinding and balance issues in the story and side quest. @@OneStopCoopShop What I meant was, you did such a good job giving it an independent overview, that if I was this publisher, I'd send you early copies for all future projects. Willowhare gives me heavy Tentomon vibes, so that’ll be my pick. Thanks for the video. I didn’t even know this game was a thing. I hope it turns out as good as it looks.
It looks fun and interesting, one thing that I am curious and didnt see in the vídeo, is how the evolutions work? Is just spending resources or os there any other mecanics specific for that?
Sorry, that was one thing I forgot to cover! You need to discover the evolutions through play, and once you have them you need to spend the indicated resources to evolve your robomon to a new card with new powers. It's about what you'd expect :)
Wow, I watched another creators video on this game and it was an easy pass. But your video here, shows the game in a totally different light. More of an adventure game and it seems really neat! Can’t wait to see the 5 in 5.
After watching your playthrough of both this and Dragon Eclipse, I felt like this looked like the "funner" game. I'm curious what game you had more fun with since you got to actually play them.
I think both were about the same level of fun for me. The bigger differences for you to consider are: 1 - do you like open exploration (Robomon) or a more linear narrative with a timer (dragon eclipse) 2 - do you like robots or dragons 😜
This game is pretty cool, I really like how it's a love letter to Pokemon. Unfortunately the price doesn't seem to match what you're getting. $120 USD for deluxe + $30ish shipping (they don't even have a shipping estimate for the deluxe, only the base pledge). I'm hoping it funds so I can pick it up second hand/retail down the line 🙂
@@kikiah9586 Yeah that's why I'm waiting for retail, $79 + $30ish shipping for Base Game is still too steep for what what you're getting. They need to show the value of what you're getting on the campaign page better
Feel free to do whatever makes sense for you but I definetly don’t agree with your value proposition. It’s a minimum 30 hour campaign with a lot of art assets, unique components (look at unboxing and see the storage system, and D4), custom soundtrack and a lot of writing. These things cost a lot of money. The amount of physical stuff isn’t always a good indicator of value. Minis for example do not actually cost that much when compared to the paper components of games as whole and depending on the sculpt they are often less expensive to manufactor than custom dice which this game has. Let’s compare to sleeping gods for example. I’d argue the components are comparable and the volume of both gameplay and art assets are comparable although there seems to be more maps in robomon and it has comicbook strip scenes. It also has a custom soundtrack which comes with the game when sleeping gods it’s a separate purchase. This is also a smaller publisher who can’t have a print run anywhere near what red raven games can do so it should be actually more expensive but instead it’s a pretty decent deal being priced similarly
I still can’t believe you weren’t into Pokémon back in the day! As a classic game guy (eg megaman) I admit I didn’t expect that. Excellent run through very excited for this one.

So glad that this game is living up to my super high anticipation!
Glad you like the looks of it :)
It's ambitious, so I can't say with 100% certainty how it will all turn out, but I'm excited to see!
I'm so grumpy i don't have money to buy this. You did an EXCELLENT job promoting this kind of game. bravo!
I hope it didn’t come across as “promotion”. That’s never what I’m trying to do. But I hope the video was useful, and glad you enjoyed it! :)

Very simple and easy to catch on hope to see more on this game in the future. It's a cool little twist with a mix of Pokemon and dnd skill checks

Whoops! I haven’t watched any of the other videos yet, but I had a ton of fun with this one
Mike, do you think each of the robomon's ability is roughly similar, with the difference only be the element type?
They also have elemental effects, different ranges, different costs, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t VASTLY different, but it works :)
@@OneStopCoopShop Ok noted. Thanks
for the info~
Is this one that will be coming to retail?
Not sure. I’d ask on the Gamefound page. Probably depends on the campaign’s success

Only if they're painted
Any idea how many robomon there will be in the game? This seems so much fun!!!!
I knew this at some point… I think it’s in the 60s? And then expansions add more?
I'm looking at this as a solo dungeon crawler and dice roller. Something like Four Against Darkness but with a pocket monster/robot theme.
I think that’s a fair perspective
I'm not a big fun of the stickers but seems interesting and entertain even if we may need to read a lot.
I will check a bit more thanks man
Happy to help!
Out of Pokémon nostalgia I went and pledge. Looks fun.
You wanna be the very best? :)
Yes. To Catch them is my only test and train them is my cause.
How many Robomon are in the game?
I know it's on the campaign page, but I forget the exact number... I think maybe 70?
"Blaze Grabem" 🤣
Fun game. just wonder how does 2 player works for this game?
It’s just splitting the two robot fighters between the players. Nothing else changes. So you have to enjoy reading the stories together :)
@@OneStopCoopShop so you split the control of 2 robomon but still share 7 dice right?

It’s tough for me to say whether the final product will be worth the cost, since I only experienced a small portion of the game
It’s $79 for the base game. $125 for the the deluxe. You don’t need the deluxe. Thr base will likely be more than enough and looks like great value
Ah. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn’t sure if the $120 price was the only option. That sounds a lot better :)
