hi barry :)
All Americans, WTF was in that bottle you called lemonade, and do Brits not just peel beets?!?
You need to sell sweat headbands !
Can't wait for your baked potato video. My family go nuts over baked potato 😂
Please do a vegan special!! :)
Can I just say Mrs B's Yorkshire puddings look delish.
They are rather stonking
@@mrbarrylewis Can you translate "stonking" into American for me? Lol
@@peshgirl “Radical”
@@peshgirl amazing/delicious
@@saint_lewis I read this and was still confused! Hahahaha good thing @gooseymoosey followed through with the Queen's English 😁
Hey Barry, I think it's way better when you don't count oil/water/S+P and similar things as ingredients. I think it's safe to assume that people have oil, water and basic seasoning :)
That way you "ram flavour", as you'd put it, into the food!
Yeah I agree, after some thought think I was probably being a bit too harsh really on the rules
Water, oil, salt and pepper seems fine. Just don't take it too far. Some channels pull rediculous stuff out of their pantries and are like "of course everyone has [....]. " And I am like "Yeah, sure... "
What is the pink liquid at the dentist?
Chlorhexidine
Chlorhexidine has powerful antibacterial properties, and can be especially helpful in maintaining a healthy mouth after a teeth deep cleaning procedure such as tooth scaling and root planing. This rinse also helps to control and kill the bacteria in your mouth that cause gum disease.
This confused me so much because I was like: I have never seen the pink water. But I have an allergy to chlorahexadine so that is probably why I have never seen it. My dentist gives me normal water to flush with.
I was just about to say I thought the Pink water has like some time of antibiotic in it, to clean out your mouth after they have done stuff in it,
Can you buy it in the high street?
@@ShytedYou can buy chlorhexidine mouthwash online,Amazon sell it too,as for the high street, you could ask in the chemist for some.
@@mikethedigitaldoctorjarvis that’s cool, half expected it to be something only available to the trade. Cheers.
What I think would be very fun is to do like, X meals with X ingridents. Basically take a group of ingridents, then using only those ingridents, make multiple meals, sides and ideally desserts. For example, if you did pumpkin as an ingrident, very easy to do a soup, some roast pumpkin side, maybe do some pumpkin ravoli for main then pumpkin pie for dessert. Basically, show the variety that could be done if for example, you got a good deal on a few items.
Yes 😍
That's a really good idea!
Sounds like a great idea to reduce food waste too. Giving people ideas what they can do with leftovers.
Pepper is actually a berry or the fruit of the pepper tree. So yes pepper can be fruity
Yes pink pepper is pretty fruity.
@@pinker812 There's pink pepper? Learn something new every day. I only really know red, yellow/orange and green.
I love that you chose to do a vegetarian video! I wish you would do more of these, too.
Tip for the pasta, stir it in the pot you cooked the pasta in. The heat from the pan will help melt it down :) You can also create the sauce by stirring in the cheese and water in the pan and simply heating it up. Put the pasta back in, mix and boom.
“It’s polite, I dont care”. The best Barry
So excited I love these videos and being a single mom these help me so much
A 3 ingredient video? It's like the universe is giving me a gift, this has made my morning! Time to relax and binge-watch this whole playlist again. Thank you so much for another wonderful video!
One of my fave playlists to do
Love your videos, you've upgraded me from a guy who never thought he could cook to someone who instantly goes to the kitchen anytime I want a snack. I make the snack myself to be clear, not reaching for something from the pantry.
Maybe it was you who made this pun but i liked it very much. It goes: Do not use Old Tella only Nutella . Hope you and the family are all keeping well.
Could have used cream soda instead of lemonade. Extra vanilla ness
Oh, yes, is the lemonade you used a carbonated beverage?
@@phyllisschapiro7894 oh yeah UK lemonade is like American sprite or 7up
7:36 I genuinely thought those were the scones for a split-second, and I felt unparalleled dread.
Me too haha I think because Barry said "those scones are looking phenomenal", pointing to that oven...then next thing we see the beetroot being taken out. I was like "wait...what?" when I saw them!
Right now I've had about 5 barathons (giant foods, kitchen gadget testing, hack testing, 4x3 recipes and mini foods . Lol 😂😂
I watch this channel way too much
Thanks for the support
Get some stickers to put on your back windshield!
Just in time for bed time ! Love this series as always.
Which country do you live in?
*runs over to website to see the pasta recipe because hubby says the only thing better than cheese is more cheese* 🤤😍
The Yorkshire pudding looks so amazing
I love how in the voicemail you had to clarify the fact that you where her husband
Cant wait to see what barry does for Christmas
Probably open some socks from the kids and eat too much food
@@mrbarrylewis honestly that sounds very appealing
Yum, great, great video!! I do my beets in a pressure cooker, 20 minutes to cut down the time and the skins slide right off. That was truly a very interesting dip, have to give it a try. How about posting Mrs B's Yorkshire pudding recipe.
With all the trouble with the Election here in the USA. Your videos have helped me forget about it for a bit
Yeah . . . 🙄
Oh LAWD, the Cacio el Pepe looks divine! Must try this one day!!!
There is a restaurant in Pimlico, London called
Cacio & Pepe and as you can guess its their signature dish. A rich creamy sauce and tons of pepper all served in a mini cheese wheel of parmesan.
Marbled scones...onto a winner there Barry, they look great! 👌
When you say “lemonade” you should probably specify that it’s what you mean by “lemonade” in the UK; many of your American viewers are probably really confused by why you’re putting in lemon soda like Sprite or 7-Up instead of actual lemonade. :)
I was completely confused , and i am grateful for this comment
Thanks, I was searching the comments for an explanation, as I have never heard of carbonated lemonade.
Yes I needed this. I am Dutch and we only sell lemonade syrup here that you add water too yourself. So I was like "That will be way too sweet" and then like "Hold on, it is fizzy, how is lemonade fizzy?"
Yeah I kept rewinding not understanding. Thx.
Thanks I was lost
Butterscotch milk sounds amazing
Been making cacio e pepe for a while now and my favourite recipe is from Marion’s Kitchen where she adds Szechuan peppercorns as well as back peppercorns and pecorino cheese. Szechuan pepper corns are amazing as they add a fruity taste but also make your tongue all tingly, and are so delicious! Definitely even tastier than any other cacio e pepe I’ve ever made. So if you like that version Barry you’d love Marion’s!
Hayyy I been watching your videos for years love your content
Thanks a bunch
Good video. I peel beets by boiling them on the stove until cooked. Then drain, put into cold water & the beet peel comes off in the water as you simply peel the beet.
got my gsce mocks for 2 weeks starting monday, really need and enjoy your videos especially right now to relax and de-stress so thanks :) --- SO STRESSED
Love your videos. I teach English in a catering school in France and told all my students to subscribe to your channel because of how good your content is. Love the enthusiasm and how you motivate people to try new things. Keep it up :)
Yay, vegetarian special!
Nutmeg on that milk Barry would be phenomenal! 👍
Barry - since you liked this pasta so much you've GOT to try Spaghetti Carbonara! It's one of the best pasta dishes I've ever tried. Talk about lush! 😋😋
I'm a simple person. I see my favorite food - spaghetti cacio e pepe - and immediately click like.
Always a fan! Much love from Utah, USA!
Wouldn't the scones have been better made with soda water, instead of lemonade, if you were using Nutella? Just can't imagine that bit of lemon tasting good with Nutella?
Citrus pairs very well with chocolate
You're correct some might not find the combination there favorite and that adds the option to keep changing the underlying hints of flavor.
One of my favorite wedding cakes was a lemon cake with lemon curd filling in a chocolate ganache. It was amazing and I can still taste it 15 years later.
@@Sethonious ok never tried lemon and chocolate. Just orange. But still the nuttyness of it still makes me think I wouldn't like it. Just wondering if soda water would do the same too or if it has to be a sweet soda??
Watching this the day after dental surgery when I'm still struggling to eat anything solid is absolute torture. Those scones look so good.
Cacio e pepe is one of my favorite foods. My favorite thing to do is serve it with a sausage dish that I don't know what it is called, but it's Italian Sausage, I use hot, split in half, browned in a pan and then roasted in the oven with tomato slices and fresh mozzarella on top of it, sometimes I add fresh basil between the tomato and mozzarella. The cacio e pepe serves as a wonderful pasta base, which I also just sometimes eat by itself, and the sausage, tomato, and mozzarella are your main dish and blend wonderfully into the cacio e pepe.
Aw, I kinda wanted to see Mrs. B try the cacio el pepe while explaining the Yorkshire puddings.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to leave things in the oven!
Well done you. I'm going to try that pasta one and see if my daughter likes it since she's daft over the stuff.
thanks for making a vegetarian one!
I have a giant food idea worthers Orignal s also love your videos always so entertaining. Always brings my spirit up.
You should try a 4x3 and 1 pan crossover episode!!
I made 3 ingredient scones this yr. Yummy and so light!
Reheat the yorkies and put some Nutella on them! Also fave pasta for me is pasta cooked in chicken stock instead of plain water. Drain and eat. Mmmmm.
I think, Barry, that you might have just shown me a way with beetroot that I can eat without gagging. That looked awesome, and I'm definitely giving that pasta a go, as well. A tiny slosh of truffle oil on top would probably kick that into the middle of next week. I'll pass on the scones, as I hate nutella with a passion, and the drink, too, as I don't really like sweet things anymore - I'm not moaning - they both looked great, but not my sort of thing. Good work, fella!
Love the beetroot dip! I make beetroot tomato sauce with pasta and people always called me crazy... soooo good tho
I highly recommend cacio e pepe but the method I know appears to be easier to get together. Serious Eats has the write up and video, but basically:
Cook pasta in as little water as possible so it's got the most starch in it
Heat oil in a pan and grind lots of pepper into it. Let the pepper infuse into the oil and mellow out.
Toss cooked pasta and grated cheese into the pan. Add pasta water as required, stirring it over the heat to help the sauce emulsify
Eat it all because you can't stop yourself.
I made a dish similar to the cheese and pepper pasta but using Parmesian as it was what I had on standby, it was also delicious! Cheese and pepper is just a great combination. :)
"Around about a year ago." was 5 months ago. It really has felt like a strangely long year.
I would say oil and those kind of things are more of an accessory to a good recipe, rather than an ingredient, so I wouldn't worry :) I understand your theory, but I'm sure people will have that to spare, all looks delish 😍
Perfect to try in the lockdown
Can you do a corned beef hash in this series? I've been looking for a good recipe for ages and feel you could be the key to my forever search!
Ooo I saw the live, can’t wait to see how these are made
Bring that “BEET” back!! 🎵🎶🎼🤣
When we make Cacio E Pepe, we add roasted garlic and roasted jalapeno....soooo good!!
Those scones looked amazing! :)
I may even try this one it sounds so good
Will have to start calling you 'Bad back Barry' soon, that immense angle, leaning over the table :D Great video, thanks.
Can not wait for the baked potato video
Food looks lush
I love the look of the scones, but I don't know if lemonade and nutella is a good flavour combination. Could I use sparkling water instead?
Think you need the sugar. Lemonade scones are an Aussie classic.
A cheap twist on that pasta dish is using cream of chicken or mushroom soup!
My favorite scones from Panera: cinnamon chip scones with sweet cinnamon glaze.
Pepper is a dried Pepper Berry, so yea a fruit 🙂✌
Why is the UKs nutella jars so fancy and nice?!
Dear Barry, It's been quite a while since I've seen your videos. WoW, you've evolved! As a cook (chef!!!!), and as a vid host. Congrats on all your achievements! I'll be watching more regularly from now on. BTW, what the h-ll does 'stonkin' really mean??? 💋😎👀
It means "brilliant" or "delicious" or similar with context.
Going to see Barry on Italia Squisita now lol. Though I would love to see you try and do their way of making pesto.
You need to do an ultimate 4321 of your favourite dishes from the playlist
Berry you should also try aglio e olio!!
Hi Barry did you check if the cheese was vegetarian?
I see you are from WSM thats cool as i grew up on the Oldmixon and went to broadoak.
Is it also clear why Mrs. Barry left the Yorkshire Puddings in the oven? ;-)
Needed this!!
Yeah you did it cheese emulsion.. that's pretty normal. That's what fettuccine alfredo is supposed to be it's just cheese, water and salt mixed until sauce.
I really want one of those Yorkshire puddings
Not a fan of beetroot, but that does look amazingly yummy.
Catch-e-o e pepe
Casio is a watch.
Vincenzo isn't going to be happy about the cold water paste
You went full Bristolian when you said it's polite 🤣🤣
Make this man a food tech teacher
I always make the curry you did before
My father in law is English (I'm American) and his scones are always triangle shaped, so does it matter what shape the scone is in?
Never had fizzy clear lemonade
We call then beets here in Canada.
your lemonade is carbonated???
Flour weighs half as much as lemonade by volume. 1 cup of lemonade to 3 cups of flour would, roughly,. be 240 g lemonade to 360 g flour. Could be... soggy.
Black Pepper actually loses a lot of it's strength during the cooking process so you should crack it fresh onto food after cooking. This is why in high end restaurants you are offered fresh pepper fresh once your food arrives. Top tip if you like peppery food
That moment you start watching, and then get the notification it's released.
Good work!
Barry’s pronunciation of “Al dente” drives me insane 😂 (love the channel though!)
Can anyone tell me if the “lemonade” is seltzer water i.e. carbonated water? I’m a little confused about that. I’m in the US, and lemonade here is tap water, lemon juice, and sugar.
Hello, lemonade is lemon flavoured soda, usually clear in colour. That's what Sprite and 7up are, lemonades. You can find the traditional lemonade in the UK (and here in Australia as well) but it's not common. When I was in the Museum of Natural History in London, I had a lovely lunch from the cafe there that sold traditional lemonade (it was very nice lemonade too).
@@juststeve1569 Awesome, thanks so much! I appreciate the clarification 😊
I'm not a dentist but I think it's fluoride in the water and possibly an anti bacterial additive that turns the water pink?
The twist thing mate, is from Jamie Oliver, who learnt it from his mentor in Italy.
Man those beachroots look so good! 😂
I have never seen clear sparkling lemonade
Please explain
In the UK lemonade is similar to 7up, you can use that instead
@@valkyrie8580 odd lol what do you call what we call lemonade then?
I put black pepper on pretty much everything 💪
