Mia angelo is the greatest, powerfullest black woman I have ever known. Every word she speaks just sends chills all through my heart. Indeed she is and always will be a woman of god.
R.I.P. Dr. Angelou. Her books were introduced to me while I was in high school. My English teacher was a huge fan of hers, she asked us to read: I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, and had us analysed it.That was the first time I have ever read anything by Dr. Angelou. I went on to reading more of her books, my favorite poem by her is Phenomenal Woman. Dr. Maya Angelou you will be sadly missed for your wonderful contribution to literature and the person you were. Your books and poems are being use in Colleges and Universities. Thank you Dr. Maya Angelou. R.I.P
Thank you Maya for your contribution to our Generation, thank you for your consistency and transparency. We thank you for BEING the Beautiful Queen you were created to be! Thank you for rising above the trouble of this world! Thank you for your words! #GodSpeed
She has the most genuine and beautiful smile and laugh. She’d been through so much in her life but she chose joy and rose up above the adversity. If ever there was an angel put on this earth to be an example of strength, integrity and love, it was Maya. Her words still live on... they move us and give us hope.
Fear may beat me up. Anxiety may knock me around. Panic attacks may have knocked me down. But like the fighter I am... It never knocked me out. I am a fighter. I rise!
THANK YOU FOR BEING A GREAT WOMAN OF STANDARD BEING THE VOICE FOR MANY NATIONS THOUGH I NEVER MET YOU IN PERSON I HAVE HEARD YOU LOUD AND CLEAR I AM THE HOPE AND THE DREAM OF THE SLAVE AND SO NATURALLY I RISE ** TAKE YOUR REST NOW MISS ANGELOU YOUR JOB IS WELL DONE YOU HAVE LEFT THE GREATEST MARK ON THIS WORLD YOU WILL BE TRULY MISSED ** REST IN THE LOVING ARMS OF THE JESUS
I can't say exactly what it is about this video that captivates me, but it has been a lifting, encouraging, and grounding source of comfort for about a year. Sister Maya, you go girl!
This is one of my absolute favorite poems for it speaks of all the things I am in my warrior's heart. Keeping your head up in the face of adversity and never letting anyone or anything defeat you on the inside. Not needing to respond with words or anger.... not needing to respond at all, but showing with the bright light of your spirit that you can never be kept down. It always seems to be the strength you have on the inside not the outside that can move mountains or make a difference!
Dr. Angelou is such an amazing woman....it is always just a pleasure to share anything inspired by her, as well as her works. I love Dr. Maya Angelou a woman of God, hope, courage, love, peace, and inspiration!
I wish we read maya's poems in class. To the person responsible whether its the proffessor or not, I thank that person or persons for bringing her beauty in to the classroom....
That is good. She just likes to be called by that title though. I don't think she even got the honorary title. But she still manages to inspire many people through her writings. And I think that is good.

May a beautiful lady take her wings and Rise Rise Rise. What a wonder we have witnessed in our lifetime.
She takes simple words and makes them into beautiful music with her sense of rhythm. Gorgeous.
