We are cruisers and glad to see the Captain of the trimaran was saved. You asked what happens to his boat….well, sadly it stays afloat and becomes a hazard on the ocean! Sometimes, if the owner has the funds, he will try to rescue the boat before a salvaging group find it and claim it as their own. The same thing for his dinghy. We are very surprised he abandoned ship; it’s difficult to tell what happened for him to make the distress call. This is surely a nightmare for any of us and our floating homes! Feel free to ask questions!! You did a great job capturing the footage and telling the story.
My cousin is also on this cruise. He saw the rescue. Thank God for the safety of the boater and the rescue team. Found this on the web: After a rescue operation at sea, the boat in distress is typically either towed to a safe harbor by the rescue vessel, secured alongside the rescuing ship, or, if severely damaged, abandoned and left to sink depending on the situation and the severity of the damage; the decision is often made based on the safety of the rescue crew and the feasibility of salvaging the vessel.
I was emotional to see this stranded sailor make every effort to get rescued. How scary to brave those waves in that little boat but he did not want to miss his chance to live to tell the story. So sorry for his loss. Hope insurance covers it.
@@danakruse7325 we like the Reflection. The casino is a pretty decent size. Our casino tour for the Reflection should hopefully be out in a few days. Just have to finish editing it
We witnessed a helicopter pick up a sick elderly man and his wife on a Carnival cruise. Our ship was rocking a lot and the helicopter lowered a basket and got the man. The men on the helicopter were hanging out the door with harnesses to pull him in when a gust of wind came and the helicopter took off to avoid hitting the smoke stack. The man started spinning it was so scary. They had to work to get him to stop spinning before they could get him inside. They waited quite a while for the winds to slow down. They finally said they were going to have to leave the wife behind because they were getting low on fuel. Just then the wind magically stopped blowing. They scooped her up in the basket quickly and off they went. I said she must really love him I don't think I would be able to get in that basket after seeing him spinning around. I still get chills thinking about it.
Did his catamaran stop working? Or was it because the swells were too high, which made it dangerous? What was he doing out there? Scary!!! Never know who it is…. I hope security accompanies them
The sail appeared to be ripped. I don't know why he was out there. Plus he was out there alone. There were a couple of rumors going around but I rather not say unless it was confirmed.
Ok, so that’s not a catamaran. It’s a trimaran. And it makes absolutely no sense as to why he’s abandoning ship. Unless it’s on fire, he is safer to be in that boat than in that dinghy. Trimarans (and catamarans) are almost unsinkable. They don’t have the weight of a keel so worst case is it sinks to water level. Glad he’s ok - I’d love to hear the whole story.

We were shocked too! It was a very scary situation!
Wow! That was incredible! So glad it was a happy ending!! Those swells are no joke!

It was very scary. We have no idea what will happen to the vessel.
Thanks for sharing, this was very interesting
Thank you for watching!
So thankful the ship was in the area and the man was able to be saved. Where did this take place? Was it far from land?
I’ll be on the reflection on Sat . How do you like it? Is the casino large?

So scary! Glad he's safe!
It was...We were really worried about the crew who rescued him . The water was really rough and they did a great job.
Ok so I clicked on this video and my priorities were : #2 - I hope the people are rescued safely. #1 - there better be a "Hello Joyce". :)
LOL ...

We once saw a rescue like that too. and it was windy. It seems very risky.
OMG Poor man. So scary😮😱So glad the Reflection was there to help❤
The Captain did a great job in organizing this.
I am on the cruise also. I heard a rumor that the boat was stolen. No idea if it’s true or not. Have you heard any details?
We heard the same rumor but we can't confirm it. Thank you for watching❤️
It's not a catamaran it's a trimaran, but nice footage of the rescue
That's a trimaran, not a catamaran
