Perfect. And establishing character. Sills’ Maria was impulsive and passionate. I did see JS in this as well and Joan’s Maria was an unconvincing grotesque.

For all of her typical musicality, Beverly's embellishments here seem to make no dramatic sense - they just seems ornamental for the sake of being ornamental or impressive.
