Wow to Wells cathedral. Cathedrals always make me cry when I go to visit one. I thinks it’s the scale and wonderment about how they were built. If you haven’t read the Ken Follett Kingsbridge trilogy I highly recommend them - they follow the building of a cathedral and are fascinating.

I know what you mean. There’s a vibration that hums about these places. I feel like the volume of people worshipping and praying to the same “vision” creates some kind of energy. I feel the closest to my god when I am in these places of worship and with my Nic the Vic. My mum has sent me the links to those books on audible. They are in my queue and I think I should jump straight to them. X

I have so much to learn with spinning. I don’t have great ambitions, I’ll be happy to spin a consistent 4ply so I can knit a sweater. I love the repetitive motion and how it stills the mind…much like Wells cathedral. I wonder if the energy of all those people who over the years have worshiped are imbued within the walls.

Hello dear Cuckoo! You have done an amazing job with spinning the yarn. The colour combination is so pretty. You got some lovely birthday gifts. I bet Pete was so chuffed and touched that you spent the time knitting the socks for him. They were the perfect way to say thank you to him for the swing. He seems like such a lovely man. You made me laugh when you said you thought he felt trapped on the swing with you. I bet he loves your company regardless of whether he had to go or not. Have you noticed how the markings on Bunny's head look just like a badgers head from the top? I only just noticed it. You should knit everything in the knitting book. It all looked very nice. I can remember your earlier video when you said about Toby making the comment about who would want to watch you. Well, a lot do. Also you would have not got the minibus without YT either! I can totally understand about the clothes. When I finished work three years ago I kept a lot of blouses/shirts but have now had a cull. I did not need all those white shirts. Two was enough and also a lot of other things went too. I used to wear manmade shoes as I was border line vegan at one time until I heard someone mention about all the plastic used in the making of them. So I am now back to leather shoes. Well, I have rambled on, so it was lovely to have a little catch up. Take care. XXX

Bunny is exactly like a badger! We call her badger sometimes, it’s one of her many nicknames. More often lately she is “bunny bin raider!
I think Pete is happy with his socks, he keeps leaving plants on my doorstep.
I’m all for being vegan but I am baffled how an avocado flown thousands of miles from Mexico is deemed better than a local organic chicken? How plastic leather is better than a natural biodegradable product. I also don’t understand fake meat products, they are so processed. I don’t understand that either. I need it all explaining to me so I can get my head around it.

I was looking at 'Ballard Bella' yarn the other day and I loved it, it reminds me a little of a Thrush egg, I've been looking for a color way that is like a Thrushes egg. I've nearly finished a pair of 8ply socks in Cleckheaton Country Naturals in a pretty pale blue with brown flecks,. Love all your gifts and your spinning is awesome. You know I am the same with clothes these days and hardly ever wear make up any more, I am more comfortable in my skin these days, it's a good place to be xx

I agree with you. Getting out again after being at home the last year is a bit daunting. I haven’t figured it out yet. I am more comfortable at home, but I feel I should start getting out more. It is very unsettling.

Unsettling is the word! I’m trying to pace myself as if I accept every “invitation” there’s no time left for slowing up and catching up with myself. I’ve realised that’s vital to my wellbeing.

Aren't they amazing, hubby and I agree that after getting married and having the boys, Rigby is the best decision we've made. Even though insurance is expensive, he eats clothes, rolls in unspeakable things, has completely trashed the sofa and is people and dog reactive! He's a little turd and a loveable fluff nugget 😍🤣 xx

Happy belated birthday! How lovely to get a spinning wheel! The one you got is on my Christmas wish list. I currently spin on a drop spindle which while lovely and relaxing takes ages to spin yarn. I too have a dog who is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He is such a snuggle bug at home but absolutely awful to people and other dogs he meets!

Hi Gayna! A very Happy belated Birthday to you. I am really pleased to see you! I feel you are in a transitioning stage of your life! re- evaluating what's important to you and what is not so important to you now, that's well OK, I feel I am doing the same really, maybe we all are after so much change in the last year and a half! Yes our bodies change! not what they once were! Your yarn is beautiful that you spun, would love to have a go! I have been to Alterknits on the A370, I bought West Yorkshire spinner socks and the friend I went with bought recycled Sari yarn, which was beautiful colours. Bunny is adorable as always, and not forgetting margot. Wells is stunning and I have been a number of times to the cathedral the stain glass is out of this world. So green everywhere cause we have had so much rain! Look forward to next time Gaya, I do have a question I asked last time: where do you get your MAPLE TEA please? suze. x

I completely understand the post covid thing and clothes. I used to love finding clothes shoes and jewelry that were different and now it’s lost interest - I’ve lost interest in it. Focus has changed. An Evolution of sorts I suppose ? As always love watching and seeing what you’re up to! Looking forward to check out your spinning projects! See you soon? I hope 😀

I guess we all move through phases of taste snd interests so it’s inevitable that we will move on. I’m more interested in things I can grow or knit now so I don’t spend the time looking for or making wacky clothes. You’re right, it’s an evolution. X

'Ello lovely. Isn't it funny how we move on from things and our tastes totally change. The ebb and flow of life I suppose. I think I'll still always be a pastel girl, but I've certainly become more gentle in my tones. I always loved a dash of colour in the winter with my makes. It seemed to counteract the grey days which so dampened my mood. That seems to have all but disappeared too. Still floaty dresses and bloomers though......but into embroidery and reworking things. I'd love to do more slow living. You should watch Little House on the Mountain vlog if you don't already. It's the epitome of slow living and very soothing to watch. Big Love xxxxxx
