This game isnt perfect, but it dererves at least an 8, 6.5 i strongly disagree with. This review really overlooks how fun it is to play, snd how great the pixel art is.
I absolutely LOVE this art style and direction, but really struggle to get into Metroidvanias. Think it's not for me, but it does look incredibly cool.
4:45 "Blade Chimera won't probably be for everyone, but it may resonate with players who click with its particular style." That doesn't say anything. It's just another riff on the "fans of the genre" cliche.
How isn't it saying anything? The game is competent enough for people who have exhausted the best of the genre and yearn for more of it. The game is not special enough to warrant those lukewarm to the genre to give it a go.
@Nersius aka "fans of the genre" Technically correct but pretty much meaningless. Might as well say "People who like this kind of game will like this game."
It's not the most useful comment, but it's not useless either. It's saying that it's not good enough to warrant people who are lukewarm about Metroidvania giving it a try. Basically it's not a BG3 type of game, i.e. a game so good that even people who usually aren't into its genre give it a try and love it. But it's also not a bad game so people who enjoy Metroidvania, will get enough good stuff to look past its flaws and get more of what they like.
I'm probably gonna pick it at some point, but I'm not surprised by the score it got, the demo already wasn't all that impressive. IMO Team Lady bug peaked with Touhou Luna light the Lodoss War game wasn't bad but definitely less interesting and Blade Chimera seems to be of the same calibre.
Hope we get a sequel. More story and character interactions. I would like Hanzo to be the main character for that one. And maybe his sister was well. Maybe choose which character to play in the beginning o the maybe switch them. Who knows lol
Oh damn, the lowest score I’ve seen yet for the game. The skewed risk/reward/lack of difficulty will probably bother me but I’ve been so damn excited since the demo. Thanks for the review!
Update. Little over halfway through the game and I gotta say, I think I disagree with a lot of this review. Not hating, just disagree is all. Definitely aligning more with the enamored reviews. Though it started a bit slow to me, wasn’t super feeling it until about the 2 hour mark then it only got better from there.
I think as a platformer he should run a little faster, enemies should be more responsive & aggressive to make sure you can’t just point & shoot & also the combos for every weapon should be extended
I was very impressed with their Record of Lodoss War game, I am definitely getting this one.
Record of Lodoss War is always fun to play
What I would give for Team Ladybug to do another Touhou game. Luna Nights was brilliant, and the world has so much more potential to explore!
John Chimera

Thanks for the review! I think a harder difficulty option would go a long way in alleviating the game's issues.
I love this game. But first thing I did was drop the gun and go full melee haha

Yeah, you gotta wonder if they listen to themselves when they write this stuff. 😂

any idea if this has a physical release? thanks!
Well another game from this guys, so let's see if it's even better. 👌🏻
thank you for this review. how long is the game? i personally thought that both luna nights and record of lodoss war were way too short.
It’s pretty brief, similar to Lodoss War but the narrative bits do pad the runtime.

Thanks for the review guys! ♥ I enjoyed Deedlit in wonder a lot
Not my genre but looks good and it was a good review vid.

I love games where the character gets so strong that it makes enemies trivial.
Will be giving this a miss. Pity, It looked interesting but I need a good challenge or I get bored. Thanks for review!
Interesting!
If its like lodoss then its good
Team Ladybug hasn’t missed yet for me. I especially loved Record Of Lodoss War and Drainus. I played this for about 2 hours so far and I love it!

This sounds perfect for me. Now they'll probably nerf it. =/
I feel bad for any game coming out today
Cause the switch 2 stuff?
@ yes. It’s all my UA-cam feed is flooded with
Some of the best most technically impressive games come out near the end of a consoles life.
@@creekandseminole like Donkey Kong 😂😂
Pasar es pasar...
6.5!? Estás fatal.
Huh. Ez and fun like sotn. Im down
i was excited about this game, but i hate easy games.
That’s a dumb ass reason to hate a game
You're missing out. Some easy games are really good like the Kirby games
