Right? And yet the mistakes are so marginal. It pisses me off to go see an artist at a concert and it is nothing close to a recording. Yet, Allen and other great players are so close to an album recording it is insane.
Lots of fine trumpet players do a great performance on this piece, but I must admit no one is quite as colorful as Allen; and how about all that stuff in the double register! And how about the upside down bit!!! About the only one as crazy as Allen is Jens!!! If you ever get to see these two together on stage, I guarantee it will be memorable! They go beyond trumpet playing into acrobatics!

It must have been so much fun to be a HS student in that wind section playing with Mr. Vizzutti on stage.

He has his own Yamaha model he always plays. The only time I've seen him not using it is when he plays C trumpet. Wonder if he's trying a new model?
