Nice set of vintage trains! That first locomotive is a Bowser Pennsylvania Railroad I1s decapod. Today, only one I1s decapod survives, no. 4483, preserved in Hamburg, New York. The Bowser I1s were manufactured sometime between the 1960s and 1970s (I believe?). Today these I1s are extremely hard to find (and I1s that are for sale by previous owners are usually listed for $200 or more). Yet again, you've got yourself a very rare and lucky find!
Harrison, The 2-10-0 is decopod made by Penn-Line between 1955-1963 it is missing the pilot, The Tyco set is the royal blue set made by Tyco between 1959-1969 I have the catalogs these trains were in Thanks for another great train video.
If anyone can make 'em run, it's you! And save that cardboard box, both of them... LIONEL-great box... You got some beautiful locomotives. I look forward to watching you work on them. And that book! Holy cow! That's worth some major dollars... it's a true treasure to have and so nice that boy had you in mind since you're in Quebec... real treasures, you're a fortunate guy! John Kamloops, BC
I had a Tyco Royal Blue set, and I didn’t remember the locomotive was THAT bright! Also had the Santa Fe streamlined set you mention, which Tyco called Super Chief, but it should have been El Capitan. Coaches, no sleepers! LOL I enjoy watching you bring this equipment back to life. You inspire my less intense maintenance.
The first Pennsylvania locomotive was made by Penn Line. Penn Line made models of almost all of the Pennsylvania Railroad's steam locomotives and yours is a model of a class I1s 2-10-0 (just to clarify as they look the same typed, it's an I as in the word igloo, not a L as those were the PRR's 2-8-2s). They came in RTR and kit form and were made between the 1950s and early 1960s, after that Penn Line went out of business and the line was picked up by Bowser who kept it going until they stopped production of steam locomotive kits in about the year 2008. Fun video by the way!
B&O had GP9TT that were used for local commuter runs. The TT (torpedo tube)was the designator for air tanks that were moved atop the roof where the dynamic brk blister was and the fuel tank was expanded in size for extended running distance.
Stan - The large tank may be two tanks; one for water & one for fuel. The water would be used by the steam generator to provide heating for the commuter cars. Many railroads had those GP9TT for both freight & passenger operation.
I have that Baltimore and Ohio Pacific. It doesn't run and I was going to fix it up but I decided to convert to N scale. I was actually pretty tempted to send it to you but technically it isn't mine, cool to see you got one though!
SMT, you acquired a nice mid 50-60- Bowser Pennsylvania Railroad 2-10-0 “Decapod” kit, I thought it was a Bowser kit, but needed clarification of the origin of the locomotive Hope to see it be restored in a video in the near future

Wow thats AWESOME to see a mint condition mantua 4-6-2. The 2-10-0 is rare. The metal tender is from at least 1950s I have 2 tenders that say Baltimore and Ohio cast metal from 1950s . careful with the tender link they some type of felt plastic get brittle over years.
I know I'm late to this one, that PRR Decapod has a special place in my heart. My Dad gave me it to me when I was way too young and I wrecked it. Then later in life I realized Bowser kits existed. Bought the PRR Pacific as a test to see how it would come out. Built it and it was great! Went back to buy the Decapod and the company discontinued the steam engine line. Anyway he was happy to see the finished Pacific which was cool.
I have some trains that belonged to my dad that havent been run in over 40 years. I recently tested them and they surprisingly worked. Though they didnt work too well
I have a tyco 4-6-2 and some old tyco cars maybe around 30 years and not too long ago, I was running a 4-6-2 and somehow, it stopped. I’ll fix it sometime and the B&O 4-6-2 is really nice.
It appears to to be a Pennsylvania RR I1s Decapod. A Baltimore and Ohio USRA Heavy Pacific. The tyco Mikes and Pacifics were probably their best locomotives. The little 0-4-0 Shifter was popular but likes to stop on insulated frogs. Are these the metal passenger cars? I worked for a toy store when this train set was popular, and I think it was $50 or less, The lowest priced sets were about $20, but minimum wage here was $1.50 to 1.65 per hour fifty years ago, so the passenger set would have been a weeks take home pay for many.
It really says something about the quality of these old trains from Tyco and Mantua when you can store them for 50 years, tune them up and run them again! You’re lucky to have such a nice collection of classic model trains that you might possibly be able to share and pass on to your children someday. I know you were excited over the trains, and rightfully so, but be gentle on those boxes. They weren’t pristine but still could add value. Even the Lionel box could be worth something to the right collector. Displaying the Tyco train set in the original box would distinguish you from those who just have the train by itself.
I got an ancient Piko set for Xmas lol If i give the loco a push it will run, it didnt run at all until I sprayed the inside of the motor with Spray lube

I think you need a new blade for that knife! Love your content
It's been long replaced since then 🙂
The blue set is the Tyco Royal Blue set. I'm 60 now, remember back in the early 70's wanted that set so bad but when your dad is in construction and Jimmy Carter was President I was lucky to get the long hauler set. That's a great set take good care of them. Thanks to all who created this video.
Well folks in today's video!!! Also imagine when he throws a bundle of bubble rap and hears a crunch
Hey Harrison, I would like to tell you I saw Amtrak’s 157 heritage unit!!!!! It’s in my video if u wanna see it 😎✌🏼
I was going to say that the locomotives look in good shape but on the inside
I’m just starting my train collection but I haven’t got a table yet so your videos help me to learn new things.great videos
Great video! Looks like some good stuff.
Pennsylvania RR 2-10-0 Decapod Freight engine! Ran until 1957-58!
What a gift! Please give that 50-year-old train a gift, a can of 3 in One oil. What more could one ask for? Oh, to win the lottery. Final score: SMT 0 Old Age 3.
I’m a novice model railroader and I have 50+ year old model trains and a train table. They belonged to my mothers father and they haven’t run since she was little. Is there any advice you can give me to help me get them running again?
Will they run
*Let’s find out*
That Pennsylvania locomotive is made by boswer
Could be. The front wheels to me look like tyco but maybe they just used the same material.
I think you are right, my Dad gave me one as a child and I wrecked it. Was so pissed when I realized how cool it was when I was into it. I found the kits on line about 15 years ago and built the Pacific with the same boiler. I didnt get the Decapod kit in time. They were discontinued unfortunately.
