Thank you. I am overwhelmed by what you have spoken. I have been seeking with all my heart, wanting the three things you have described. God has spoken to me, a few hours ago about a sin that remains in my life, I will remove it today. After I have prayed repentance and asked forgiveness, I ran across you. Like you, I was raised a protestant. Studied the Bible as protestants do, went to church faithfully as protestants did. Started as a Missouri Synod Lutheran and went through Methodists, Assembly, and ended up a Southern Baptist. Also like you I have wanted more so I have started researching the Church of the Apostles, and thus find no other place than the Orthodox Church. I have been reading the Anti-Nicene Fathers and hope to get to the Desert Fathers next. There is no Orthodox church where I live, there are a hundred Catholic churches as I live in the Philippines. There is one Orthdox Church in Manila, but that is a long was from me in Bohol. I am starving to learn, receive the Sacrament, and participate but as you know, there is only so much you can do yourself. God is moving me closer and I am thankful. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, you help to continue to inspire mine.
Dear one! God will not desert you! If you can, go to the church and ask the priest or bishop there to help you start an Orthodox mission in your community. I am certain you are not the only person in your community who is seeking the fullness of the Christian faith. Ask our Lord Jesus to lead you to others. May God protect and continue to inspire you!

St. Athanasius was not called a “black dwarf” by Julian the Apostate. Please source the specific letter. I’ve read all of them and it doesn’t exist from everything I’ve seen.
Racial strife has always been a problem in the Church. Race is not abolished by Christianity, but rather, our racial differences are reconciled with each other. I only hope that the reconciliation is true, rather than a cloak for some worldly political agenda. Faith matters more than anything, but still, lesser things such as race do matter, although they matter to a lesser extent than faith.
I've listen to both Baptist preacher (Charles Lawson) and Father Spyridon for many years on and off. To some degree they have both helped me grow. Even though I went back to sinning something always brings me back to repenting. Even though I have at least one sin I have a tough time with, I've corrected others. I still don't understand some of the bible but I learn and research.
It is amazing and joyful for me, an Orthodox Christian from Russia, to watch such videos! Thank God for everything! I just didn't understand why you cross yourself with your left hand? God bless you!🙏
Had no idea Athanasius of Alexandria was black and "Athanasius is also the first person to identify the same 27 books of the New Testament that are in use today; up until his Easter letter, various similar lists were in use. However, his list was the one that was eventually ratified by a series of synods and came to be universally recognized as the New Testament canon."
Except he wasn't black, he was a North African from Alexandria, likely Greek or Semitic. The "black midget" phrase was likely an insult from Julian the Apostate.

Welcome home, brother, from Athens, Greece. God bless you and your loved ones.
Apostolic Ortodox Church teaches us that we are one Christian nation and race of brothers and sisters in God's colorful garden.
God bless you Father and your journey in the Faith. I’m beyond blessed to become part of the Orthodox Faith. My Chrismation will be next month. I’m beyond joyed for the day.
Thank you for your inspiring speech . Glory to God for teaching us about the church fathers and the desert fathers and for the orthodox apostolic faith.
agreed i like that orthodoxy touches on original documents.
Thank God for you, Father Deacon! Many Years. ☦️⚓❤️
There is one father in Philippines I know of, father Phillip bilingmart or something I can't recall his last name. One of the most zealous with knowledge fathers of our day, right kind of zealousness, the one following the royal path
From what I know
Brother, if you haven't been able to be received yet or at least find a Priest somewhere, you should reach out to Father Peter Heers or Father Turbo Qualls; one of them may have some connections in your area or be able to find a way to receive you into the faith.
I see the icon of Saint Moses the Black top screen right (your left). I did not know about Athanasius and the Council of Carthage. Thank-you for this teaching.
I converted from Judaism and my patron saint is the new martyr, Philoumenos of Jacob's Well (Bir Yaqub) who was martyred at the well of the Samaritan Woman (Saint Photine) in Nablus, Palestine at the time that I was an Israeli soldier (1979).
The other famous church in Nablus is to Saint Moses, who passed through there. He went on to establish monasteries in Syria and he was martyred in Petra, Jordan.
I converted from Judaism too. I lived for 6 months on a kibbutz in 1976 searching for the utopian life, finally found Truth in Christ. ☦
Thank you Father for this video. I wore out my copy of "Malcom X" and never saw that passage. This shows me how blind I was. Still workin' on it.
Thank you father deacon for your testimony it is very interesting and has sparked a curiosity in me to learn more.
The Desert Fathers were located in Egypt but came from all over.
Love your story brother! I’m definitely coming back to hear more. Be blessed, praise the Lord.
Glory to God!
Glad to find this video and hear about your journey towards Orthodoxy! Finding out about the desert fathers was for me also one of the decisive factors that led me to orthodoxy.
❤☦️welcome my brother. Peace be upon you from a unworthy Greek Orthodox Christian
Yes, St. Moses the black (Ethiopian) is my patron saint. His story really resonates with me! Looking into becoming Orthodox soon, born baptist.
I know the Lord is guiding me.
Glory be to God Alleluyah 😇☦️🙏🏼🙌🏽❤️🔥✨️
I apologize for the camera orientation. It looks like I'm crossing myself incorrectly. But, I am using my right hand and going right to left.
Christ is Risen, Father Deacon!
I am just about to convert to Eastern Orthodoxy from Roman Catholicism!

So happy you came to Orthodoxy 10 years ago, God has all kinds of reasons when calling us and yes thank you Lord for helping us to listen to his calling. Amen!! We Ethiopian Orthodox are going a very hard time currently, we are all wearing black and prayed for the last 3 days, 37 people died because they are Orthodox Christian, pray for us.
🙏🏼 for Ethiopia since communists took over.
@@anastunya What?
@@alex_brg7680 In 1974, the Derg (who were Communist) overthrew the emperor Halie Selassie, abolishing the monarchy. And since then, Ethiopia has been plagued with division and violence even though the Communists are no longer in power, even at this moment there is still violence happening.
communists ARE EVERYWHERE NOW when do christians do something.
when the blood is in the streets.@@anastunya
its by design communists want us to go back too a stone age society because they think we were peaceful in the stone age.
because communists
are stupid.@@danshakuimo
I was challenged as a Protestant by an atheist on what I believed and why and I had to recognize I was so woefully ignorant of the faith it led me to Orthodoxy
Thank you Fr for sharing! I’m very inspired and grateful 🙏🏻☦️
I’m happy for you, my Christian brother. God loves you.
¡ Χριστόσ Ανέστη !
Wellcome home brother
God bless you from a Romanian Eastern Orthodox Christian!!!
Glory to God ! Even though I was born and grew up an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christian, I read the autobiography of Malcolm x in high school and it was one of first few books I read when I was re discovering my faith.
are you still attending the Orthodox Church? Im a black man wanting to convert to the Orthodox Church in America.
I suggest taking a look at Saint Paul Orthodox Tewahedo Church. They are in Maryland but very active on social media. t is in English too. @@FatherSonSpirit1
Please note the Ethiopian community is not in communion with the broader Orthodox Church because of the rejection of the 4th ecumenical council, sadly. By God’s grace, May all non-chalcedonians come into the fold!
yes. I suggest looking into an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church near you and speaking with a priest there. If you are in the east coast, check out SPOT (Saint Paul Orthodox Tewahedo Church ) in Maryland. They cater to the English speaking community. They are active on social media and youtube @@FatherSonSpirit1
Glory to God! Thanks for sharing your story.
Thanks for posting. Fascinating. Best wishes from England.
This was great. Thank you for posting Deacon.
A good word Fr. Deacon. Thank you for sharing.
I’m on the journey as well. Loving the stories of the saints. So humbling.
I LOVE YOU you are such a great man for speaking facts praise the lord
I saw your link on Twitter. Very much blessed and informed by your video. The Church in Africa has been very much overlooked by Euro-centric Christianity. “ Thanking God for influences wherever they come from, influences that lead us to the Christian Faith.”
My faith is very weak yet i feel sure the african church orthodox or not will revive and save europe, colour really does not matter it's the message
Converted in 1999. Beautiful Orthodoxy keeps getting better! Слава Богу!
Amen Father. God bless.
Conversion to Orthodoxy = from Knowledge.
Conversion to Islam = from Vanity
Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me a sinner ☦️
It is sad how protestants ignore the lives of the saints almost completely. There's so much to learn from those who struggled before us.
Glory yo God in all things
Beautiful, Father! We truly can find God beckoning to us under every rock!
God Bless you brother! Please keep us in your prayers.
Makes me so happy to listen to you brother
St. Athanasius was not called a “black dwarf” by Julian the Apostate. Please source the specific letter. I’ve read all of them and it doesn’t exist from everything I’ve seen.
I´m a Greek Orthodox in South America, we are growing in the name of Chirst
Welcome aboard my brother!
Thank you for you uplifting message .🙏🙏🙏❤
Im glad to hear your testimony Father. I myself converted to Orthodoxy and Took the name of my Patron Saint Moses the Black.
Hello from Belgrade, Serbia, brothers and sisters❤ ☦️
My family patron saint is Saint George
Happy Easter!
St John Maximovich pray for us amen
One step closer to the truth, but your journey has some roads left. I hope God continues to guide you to the right path.
There he is! God bless you. Hope all is well
Thank you. I learned something about my own Faith from this.
Welcome to the true Faith brother. God bless ✝️🙏🏻
Finally someone who knows what nicea was actually about
Thank you !
Hello from SanDiego
Saint moses one of my favorites. The example of the saints is how we should reflect our faith for our spiritual struggle.
May God bless you brother ❤☦🙏
Thank You Sir
Your words are Amazing.
WoW?؟?
Please keep influencing us. That was what I had been looking for.
Welcome to the family, sir.
Nice bother,love you☦️❤️
It is amazing and joyful for me, an Orthodox Christian from Russia, to watch such videos! Thank God for everything! I just didn't understand why you cross yourself with your left hand? God bless you!🙏
My camera orientation was backwards.
The Desert Fathers and Mothers rocked.
Welcome to our beautiful church
I'm glad that's what you took from Malcom X. Footnotes are a beautiful, spiritual thing.
Glory to Jesus Christ!!
Ameen brother.
-Serbian Orthodox
Thank you for sharing
Malcolm X also led me to traditional Christianity.
God bless you!🙏🙏🙏
I love you. Thank you
Beautiful.
Praise God
God bless you❤️☦️
Thank you Father .
Awesome speech which made a lot of sense.
God bless you!+++
God bless you 😊 🙏
You are obsessed with the flesh, in particular, the tone or hue of it. The flesh is of the earth, when we pass it will go back to the earth. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... I pray that you are one day freed from your obsession with the flesh. Amen
