Your video was one of the first to pop up. Very straight forward and great info. I ran Motul in my 15 Evo X and never had an issue. I now have a 21 CTR in the Yellow. Hence why I’m being super picky on oil. This swung me to keep Motul. Just hit 3k miles and going to this. Thank you and enjoy the CTR!!
I always wait for your new post, yeay lol. Your channel is growing, i got the 21 boost blue btw. Keep the good contents coming. I love to watch girl type r owner who does all the upgrades herself. 💙👊
Good to see people actually following the recommended oil weight, i laugh at people using heavier oil because they think they are more smarter than the people who engineered the engine
Nice oil preference. I'd always wonder who used Motul oil for their type r. I love motul oil when i had my 18 STi. Looks like I'm going back to motul oil with my type r. Thanks for this video! 👍
I need to do my first oil change. I’m at 3400 miles. Wasn’t sure to change it before or right after my 1st track day. Also look up “OTC Tools 5911A Drain Plug Pro Magnetic Remover” on Amazon. Nice little tool to use to remove your drain plug without the oil spill on your hand/glove. Plan on running Motul. Good job.
Nice to finally see an accessible oil filter on a Honda. Not so bad on my J series but my K20 Z3 you had to be an 11 year old gymnast to reach the filter.
@@diznylnd You're very welcome! I Enjoyed the video. Your driveway appears to be full of the brand! Currently waiting for the snow to melt and the salt to dissipate before I can get mine back out.
You got it right. Change the oil every 3K to 5K and use a group 4/5 100% Synthetic Oil. Motul, Amsoil SS, Torco etc. Pushing a car like this to 10,000 mile oil changes is crazy. The manufacturers get EPA money forgiveness when they push the oil changes further into the Nike range and thinner oil etc. It gives better emissions. Not necessarily what's best for the car.
Those two 2.1 liter bottles of the 300V were enough? I thought the FK8 took like 5.7 quarts or so for a change? I may be wrong but I've been using Amsoil SS and have to buy a gallon jug and 2 quarts and I'm left with 1/4 of a quart left or so.
Hi! 👋 I used approximately 2 and a half bottles of Motul, that’s why I purchased 3. I just didn’t do it all on camera as it seemed monotonous 😉. Thanks for the comments!! Have a great day.
Hi 👋. We used approximately 5 quarts per manufacturer. It just wasn’t all added on camera. You can see on the forums or google what others suggest as well. We turned on the car and then added the last bit of oil. Hope that helps! Have a great day!
Hello 👋! Congrats on the new Si! You can use whatever you like, just make sure it’s the recommended weight by Honda. It’s usually stated on the oil cap or can be found online!
@@johnhill2550 oh wow, that was quite the wait! I’m definitely interested to see the new type R in person when it comes out! I haven’t even seen the new Si yet on the road. Have a great rest of your week!
Hello 👋. I bought my Type R on Mother’s Day last year, I traded an ecoboost AWD Flex. I also had a turbo Mini Cooper Clubman at the time. But my first car was a Honda CRX Si (back in the day) that started my love of Honda and cars in general. I have a video on this subject, if you want to check it out!

I agree! For my CTR I feel 3-4K miles is ideal, but Honda clearly has it’s recommended intervals as well. 😉

You only acced 2 containers for a total of 4 quarts? Or you added half of the other container to make it approximately 5 quarts ?

Hi
What do you think about motul 8100 power for type-R?
Is that can be good as well?
Hello 👋. I love it. I just did my second oil change with it at 6000 miles on the car! Honda OEM filter again!
@@diznylnd
So now you have v300 power in the engine
And you will put 8100 power next?
Am i say right?
Nice video and great job done by the female owner. Wondering how many litter of the oil do we need for the R. Mine is champion white.
Thank you so much for the kind words 😊. I bought 6qts and used approx 5 1/2 give or take. I ran the motor after then added a touch more. Love the CW 🏁
