Remember listening to this for the first time many years ago and it's still one my favorite songs. One of Atmosphere's best songs and Slug's chorus at the end might be one of the best in hip hop. Always got love for real music like this...

When Atmosphere played Warped Tour 2005, that was my first exposure to them. I went out and picked up Seven's Travels, and immediately felt a renewed interest in hip hop. this song is lyrically one of my favorite of their songs for sure. cheers to Slug and Ant for creating such awesome music.
I can relate as a fellow metalhead/"grindcoremanic", well besides that I didn't see them at Warped Tour. Just like metal/grind/crust/d-beat, the underground's got some true gems in hip hop also
slug. i feel as if your words speak to me in more than one way, leading me in to directions i need to go each time trials arise in my life.. your my biggest influence right their with your entire label! all i really wanted to say was, thank you, much love, and more respect than you can fathom
I guess im getting old..... Slug thx for bringing Rhymsayers together; & the best hip hop talent i've ever had the pleasure of seeing.... I miss those oldschool shows where there was Tagging & Breaking in the back and you & Eyedea rocking the M/C up front.... Peace And Love brother
Such a great early Christmas present :) this song is the reason i started listening to hip hop 10 years ago. I remember listening to this and feeling the anxiety at each choice he made. Thanks for the awesome memory trip Atmosphere.
I wanted to make a song about where I'm from, you know? Pick up my hometown, my territory, my state, but I couldn't figure out much to brag about; Prince lives here, we've got 10,000 lakes- but wait! The women are beautiful, to me they are, and we're not infested with pretentious movie stars, then it hit me; Minnesota is dope, if only simply for not what we have but what we don't.
When you say you took a right on lyndale are you taking about that record shop on old shakopee?? cause if so thats where i chilled everyday. i lived right there by oak grove middle/elementary school.
Imagine seeing this - myself (black hair, winged eyeliner, ripped atmosphere shirt or some Morrissey shirt & blk leggings or skinny jeans prob 16 tattoos, septum ring & a white gold top grill@) & my boyfriend singing/rapping this song mainly, on Dallas public transportation train stops& trains. Oh and he's also tattooed up, mohawk that goes to the side etc
I think in that line he was trying to portray was how gun abuse in many areas is clearly a serious problem, and how children are being exposed to the violence.. although you seemed to have missed the entire meaning and point of this song.
Why cant inanimate objects be evil. Pretty sure there are a lot of objects people would consider evil. Not too much of a difficult concept to grasp. Unless of course, you're a conservatard.
One of my favorite songs of all time.
Slug is one of the best pure lyricists, ever.
I love the fact that whatever Slug spits is a real ass message. That's what i live for, hearing songs of peoples lives.
The chorus at the end never fails to make my heart bleed oh so slow.
Brings me back...

One of my favorites, I lit up with joy when I saw Rhymesayers post this.
This the type of storytelling hip hop we don't have much of anymore.
I must say that i agree He truly is the realest arist and the messages always speak to our souls, what we so the messages is up to us.

Atmosphere is like pizza in my opinion.. everybody loves pizza.

The instrumental sounds so familiar..
I live in Oshkosh Wisconsin :o
Why is the video unavailable?!?
Santino Medina Are you still having issues with it? Seems to be working fine, even when checking through other accounts.

2024 and I’m just another square saltine.
Sean Daley is the best
A gun is evil? an inanimate object?
Haha it's great how that's what you got from this song.
KhanMusick I'm responding to one line, the overall track was much less interesting than anything else I've heard from him.
I think in that line he was trying to portray was how gun abuse in many areas is clearly a serious problem, and how children are being exposed to the violence.. although you seemed to have missed the entire meaning and point of this song.

Justin Thorne public toilets are evil... pure evil...
mia
I've always loved this song. Not a big fan of the video though
