You learn for several years and you kind of think like you can play an instrument. Then you listen to this, and you think again...amazing as is, period. A real motivation to just keep trying, learning, doing your stuff. One might one day be able to play like one of 'em...

really amazing, i think i heard this version at least 1000 times now and i can't get enough of it.
I also like Herbie being so authentic when he is playing this. When he does a mistake, he does not try to hide it or "overplay" it, he just stops and starts with a new idea :D So for example at 2:30 he kinda loses his idea or what he wanted to play, so he stops and he just really looks like he was thinking "ah damn" :D And his face when playing some scales or other lines is unique :D

Best jazz fusion ever...I am amazed with every individual here, how good they are. Ten years ago I would've say no way that one person can improvise like this, because this must be prepared, Pat must practiced years for this moment, but today i know that some persons are just to god and they can play what ever they want on instrument, yeah he certainly practiced years&years, but this moment was pure improvisation, and it was perfect. I guess you can say it's just god given gift or else, something like power to momentary transfer imagination into instrument.

It looks like the guitar has been customized with a control panel to run the synth presets without having to go to the floor. Interesting setup.

PM's solo on this tune demonstrates his sound and facility is super fantastic. Professional hardgroovers, all of them!

    INCREDIBLE!!!
This is true and pure musicianship in a nut shell, i always said that music died along with its musicians in the late seventies, my friends had enough of me saying this long time ago. This proves me wrong in some way, RON CARTER is the best ever bass player regarding JAZZ period! To hear someone well into this new century just have a bit of RON's exceptionell timing and feel for the JAZZ is just INCREDIBLE!

I am beginning to seriously like jazz.
these guys are jamming in a very subtle way.
I love the turn around. it reminds me of linus and lucy.
I hope to find more musical gems like this.
