Retired for 12. No watch, but I know what day it is. Clock on the car dash keeps me on time for my Amish Taxi runs. Some mornings I get to sleep in, but sometimes I'm up way too early. Old Amish Driver saying, "The rooster wakes the people, but it's the Amish that wakes the rooster"!!!
hahahaha!! this is hilarious! I probably wouldn't know what day it is either without Kristi telling me.... I did remember it was Monday though this week because I had a dentist appointment... haha
Happy new year brother, great videos as always! It sure looked cold there , it’s freezing here too this week! Awesome test again and nice to see there is a walk around the rocket shot, that gimbal tilt is so annoying, it’s about time Dji sorted it now , it’s been like that weeks! Glad your trucks all sorted too brother , have a great week! 🙏🙏👏👍
Awesome! Not the cold part, but the part about the truck being taken care of... lol DJI definitely needs to get on this. If for no other reason but to make it where our poor viewers don't have to sit through another test about the rocket... hahaha God bless, brother... I hope you're having a good week...
Nice one Kev and you worked it out I'm retired and wake up at 7.30am but then I've a dog who needs walking well done Kev for solving the problem and happy 2025
hahahaha... We don't have any pets now so we have no ambition to get up early anymore... I do make myself get up before 9 usually though because I don't wanna get stuck in the loop of sleeping my day away. I'm a creature of habit so if I start doing that, I'll be screwed!!! lol Happy 2025 back!!!
Part of the problem is that when you click the "X" it draws a box around you, however, you need to become a point of interest. In order to do that, hit the "X" and get the box around you, and then physically move around a bit until the box turns into a point of interest. You will know when it happens because the box goes away, and a "Pin" (like on Google maps) symbol will appear. Try that, and see if Dwight does the Rocket correctly.
Thanks so much for watching and for the advice... I have a habit of reading comments when they come in but it takes me a few days to reply normally.. Just ask BlairAir... hahaha Anyway, I wanted to let you know I took your advice here and tried this test. I'm hoping the video will be released in a couple weeks so I won't spoil the results but man, I wish I'd seen BlairAir's reply and I could've included that as part of the test... Maybe we could do another follow up video though, eh? lol
Hey, man! No we left last Thursday morning. Mom called the next day and told us they got over 5 inches of snow that night... lol We timed that perfectly!!! haha Isn't 9:30 early????
welcome to the club. i retired in 2020. Have only set my alarm once or twice, like when i was getting a new roof and when the plumber was coming by to install a water heater. outside of that i just look to see if the sun is up or going down soon. It's like every day is Saturday lol, have already been driving in the carpool lane on a weekday after 3:30pm thinking it was Saturday. i usually get up around 7:30 or 8:00 whenever i wake, then i do pre-market day trading
hahaha.. Man, so far I have to say retirement is pretty awesome... I had to set my alarm the other day because for some reason I made a dentist appointment at 830 and the dentist is an hour away... I don't know what I was thinking when I made that appointment... I must've still been working or something because back then 830 was late!!! lol
lol I get that question pretty often. Here’s a link to the one I got on Amazon. It’s surprisingly inexpensive and it definitely helps protect the sticks in the back pack. Thanks for watching!!! God bless. a.co/d/bV89TtE
Hey Kevin ! I've been retired 3.5 years, still wake up around 3 to 4 am each morning. I guess my brain can't shut off work time ! Dang it ! Looks like you guys worked it out, cool ! Hope all is well brother. 👍
hahaha.... I used to wake up before the sun every morning, too but since I retired, I've had no problems adjusting to letting the sun do the heavy lifting. I get up around 830 or so now a days and I'm ok with that. If I didn't make myself get up though, I'd probably be able to sleep till noon!!! lol
Awesome!! Thanks so much for watching and for your continued support... We have a lot of fun making these videos and have found a lot of really cool places to fly for sure. We have a camping trip we're planning starting in April for about 6 months and I'm hoping we get to fly the drone at a bunch of new spots... That should be fun!!! God bless and thanks sagin!!!
I practice with my drone to fly towards me to get the muscle memory of operating the sticks in the revere direction. Sometimes I still forgot. God Bless you Kevin.
hahaha... It probably wouldn't make any difference how often I fly or practice, I would still get confused... I'm glad to know I'm in good company though... lol God bless you, Fred!
Here's a link for the Pekrews case on Amazon... I think that's the only place they sell the back packs but honestly they're not too expensive. So far, mine's held up really well... :) www.amazon.com/PEKREWS-Mini-Pro-Case-Accessories/dp/B0CQXBSM5H/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3CN5QW9OXBERD&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.JmTKi46cAH2kIgJPibMS5gEDVFPcq0FVBxOh-CAoI7OGXIJfWvoLQrufSjhQ88ObI5hNN2VtRvxDjfolaoA760yqWsjl5pJVzI45jwAhYLT16_M3MUZ43EgnPDAebm4QaNghJwMncV3_iLrWD4BoEIKne3D7gEv21OmL66LxpxJ8pMV_4SHQAD37Ab1Ztl3T_CAH2powplbLv8zry9sn3wOPriQT8SzXJnjUizCiuEl-6Lo56tt2QiZU1Sc0PR2HEwari1P4c0qSxeHaI8vXhQSjq4j2d_sFZFIP7cf175Q.O4mH1RZGCgi0_DUEXH-spcwGVXY5vxBHWYK90f00QKk&dib_tag=se&keywords=pekrews+mini+4+pro+case&qid=1736472822&sprefix=pekrews%2Caps%2C714&sr=8-1
@@WeretheRoberts thank you. I just ordered one. Looks good and sturdy. Lots of padding as well. Love your videos by the way. There’s some humour which I enjoy. From Ontario, Canada.
Hey kev, great video man! Haha.. we did get on that problem. Instead of dji. Although we did not get rid of the issue totally, at least we have a work around. And thank you for sharing it to your viewers as well. 10:01 where can I send my email? Haha.
Like Kevin told me a couple days ago when I asked him the same question, find his channel using a computer. In the About, you’ll find a listed email address. Doesn’t work on mobile devices.
lol, you're right about that Moto G Tee... Sometimes a work around is better than a solution anyway, right? haha Jeff, thanks for letting him know about the email address by the way... We've had a busy week and I'm pretty far behind on replying to comments... All I can say is I suck!!! lol God bless you guys!
lol thanks for watching as always, Paul... Honestly the only time I really use the rocket shot is for videos... I don't think I've ever used it when I've just been out flying for fun. I do use the others pretty often though. I'm not surprised this one got past me until someone mentioned it... haha God bless and thanks again, brother!
Another great test Kev, so I tried it myself. But first of all, mine didn't point up to the sky until it was almost down to where it took off from. There seems to be a point where it changes from reaching for the stars or returning correctly. If I drew the box around my feet, or lower, it would return normally. If I centered the box, or tap on the X while pointing at my chest or above, it pointed up on the way down. But if the X or box is centered on my stomach, it would return normally. It also depends on how high the drone is when starting out. But if I had it a head high, or lower, the deck rail would cause interference, and the flight would end. It was getting too late to try it out on the ground, away from obstacles. BTW, I love the scripture at the end, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
lol there just doesn't seem to be a true rhyme or reason to this but I think you're right... There has to be a point where something is screwed up, right? Oh, wait till Sunday's scripture.. It's really fitting for the video.... hahaha
Nice times in Ohio. That's where I'm from. That rocket thing messed me up a couple of times but you do the rite steps it works wonderful. God bless an. Keep on flying my friend
lol Ohio is pretty cool. I'd much rather drive along route 7 in Ohio than route 2 in WV.... haha I'm sure eventually DJI will get this straight but it's pretty annoying they haven't addressed it yet. I guess it's a good thing though. I got another video out of it... hahaha
I am flying in 12 degree temperatures but I am flying from inside my house. I am also watching football at the same time. Just open the sliding glass door to retrieve my drone!!😮 Great video. You always make me laugh!!
hahaha!!! That's awesome, Steve! Weren't you doing the same thing last video? lol As always, thanks for watching and for your support. I love hearing when someone gets our weird humor... hahaha God bless!
Kevin, thanks for another great testing video. I’m glad that you’re enjoying retirement and getting to sleep in. After being retired for several years and getting older, the late sleep-in option doesn’t work anymore, I might start dreaming about the show A River Runs Through It, you know what I mean. Keep the videos coming, I enjoy them.
Oh cool! Yea, man this bag has been really handy and it's held up great so far. I use it really often and take the drone with me pretty much every time I leave the house... lol
I would not be surprised to learn that the rocket problem is not actually a mistake but forced compliance. Much like the DJI mic system as a stand alone recorder that now disconnects after a peroid of time.
That’s a really good possibility here. We don’t use the DJI mic but I’ve heard that it can be a pain sometimes. Rode wireless has its quirks too though. lol. I wonder if they’re ball related?
@WeretheRoberts Actually my DJI mic worked flawlessly until an unwanted update automatically occurred. These things are like a rock , in the hands of an intelligent person it's a useful tool , in the hands of an idiot it's a dangerous weapon. Enjoy your retirement :)
@@philsmeanderings7991dang that blows. Basically what I got from your reply here is in the hands of “Kevin” it’s a dangerous weapon. Haha. I hope you get it figured out l, buddy. Unsolicited updates are irritating
I got a new remote for my mini 3 pro yesterday and the right joystick would not center so it was beeping every time I turn the drone on and then when I went to do a return to home the drone would not come back to me. It just stayed there until I did an automatic landing. Thank God I wasn't over water and I was right by my house. If you hear anything about the return to home not working on the mini 3 pro please let me know
Oh wow that sucks!!! I don't have a Mini 3 Pro and haven't heard of this problem but if anyone may have info on it, it would probably ne Nobbygreen... He's pretty smart when it comes to this stuff.. lol Also, is the left stick named Uncle? haha
Even though you figured it out Kevin. I still think it's not right. If I can remember correctly. No matter how high the drone was, and you did a droney. The camera never did that. I personally think DJI needs to fix it. It's still good that people can do their droney's now without that camera going all crazy looking straight up when it really shouldn't. Thanks for sharing my friend. 👍👍👍
I totally agree and appreciate the support, man... Some people are saying the rocket has been like this ever since the drone came out but I'm pretty sure I did a rocket shot back in the day. If I did and it did this, I would remember that... lol Then again, I don't remember what I had for supper last night so I could be wrong... hahaha DJI needs to fix it for sure.... God bless!!!
Good fix Kevin for the gimble issue....I have been retired the same length time as you and I think I invented something I am calling the "Afternoon 2:30 pm nap"...a great activity but the morning alarm has to be set for 7am to 8 am to keep you from slipping into a comma during the nap and waking up around 5pm lol, now temp here in Central Ontario, (yes that is in Canada), is 24 feeling like 14, still flyable...42 sounds kind nice...I can dream about that during the nap exercise lol safe flying
hahahaha!!! Congrats on retirement, man! All I can say is I've enjoyed it so far way more than I ever thought I would and your invention is something I'm gonna give a shot for sure. I really don't like the sound of the alarm at 7 or 8, so do you think 8:30 would be ok? hahaha Stay warm up there, brother! We're back in Florida now and I've flown a couple times already since we've been back. Oh, did I mention the temperature was 75 yesterday? hahaha
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, John. I think you're right here. From what I've seen on this topic, if the drone is above the subject with the gimbal angled down, the camera works like it should, but if the drone is level with the subject, the gimbal goes all nuts... I know there's more to this but I don't have the brains to figure it out... hahaha God bless and thanks again for watching!! Kevin
Hi Kevin, it's still very nice to watch your videos, thanks for sharing your experiences. I wanted to ask you, what do you need to be able to fly legally, recreationally in the United States? I read that you have to do a safety test (Trust). Also, do you have to register the drone? For example, the mini 4 pro with the plus batteries? Thanks, greetings
That's awesome and thank you so much for watching... We always enjoy seeing when someone appreciates our videos and somewhat understands our weird attempts at humor... hahaha Regarding flying recreationally, all you need to do is take the TRUST test which is free online. Once you pass (and it's a really simple 5 question test I believe) you'll receive a certificate via email. Make sure to print out the certificate and keep it with you when you're flying so you can present it to Law Enforcement if they contact you... Regarding the drone registration requirements, if you're only flying recreationally, you don't have to register your drone if it weighs less than 250 grams. If it weighs more than 250 grams, it'll need to be registered and be remote ID compliant, also. With regards to the Mini 4 Pro with plus batteries, it will need to be registered but fortunately, it has built in remote ID that activates when it determines the plus batteries are being used so that makes it a lot easier... I hope this helps, buddy and I didn't make it more confusing. That's usually what I do... lol God bless and thanks again for your support.
@@WeretheRoberts Kevin, thank you very much for clarifying my doubts and also for always responding to the comments, that is something that those of us on this side of the screen value a lot (at least in my case). Again, thank you very much and may God bless you.
@setenta30 heck yea, man! I’m just glad we could help. :) This drone stuff seems to change weekly and fortunately my experiences with the FAA have proven to me that they understand even part 107 pilots may not be 100% aware of some stuff.
Thanks, John! We really appreciate you watching and commenting. I would agree it's great info, but coming from us, that automatically brings it down to mediocre info.... hahaha God bless!!!
hahaha.... Yea, shocker that I forgot those stupid things again, eh? Mark's right, too. I even put a reminder on the controller and STILL forgot!!! lol I'm not a rocket scientist obviously but fortunately this was only an 80 foot flight so the signal wasn't a problem. I seriously think I've forgotten those antennas more since putting the reminder on the controller, too... Kevin's got issues... hahaha God bless you guys and thanks so much for watching!
oh wow that's hilarious that you mentioned this. I was just making that same suggestion on another comment... that's a great idea but of course I never thought of that until I was editing the video... It's funny how these great ideas elude me until it's too late... hahaha
Seems like this is more about their A.I. tracking when on ppl. This was a feature DJI took off once before, and has recently put back on believe last yr.
hmmmmm I wonder if they had a mishap when they put it back in... I'm pretty sure they could fix it if they'd try and my bet is they're already working on it... BUT I'm not a betting man so I'm probably wrong... hahaha
@@WeretheRoberts i think that's what happened. I hope they're working on it... but I have a bad feeling about these "regional firmware updates" for what country you reside in the future.
Retired 2 years ago Dec 31st, first week I was like ,man 45 years and unemployed and don't have a job but after month or so ain't looked back lol, Usually got up every day at 4am for work now 6am like sleep'n half the day away now lol, I would like to fly but got bout 6" snow and get'n more, Thanks fur yur videos bro..
lol I know exactly what you're saying, man... I do have to say, I've adjusted really well to this retired life... I wasn't sure exactly how it would work but I definitely wanted to give it a try. I'm glad I did because I'm not looking back either... hahaha Did I read that right though? 45? That's awesome!!! Were you LEO, too?
@@WeretheRoberts No I was a maintenance lead for General Mills for 38 1/2 years and was in the Army before that, So glad to do what I want when I want bro lol
Personally, I think the problem is the "+" vs drawing a box. If you draw a box around yourself, I betcha a lead penny that it will work. I have been retired 10 years. Didn't plan it as well as you did. I waited until my mid 60's. And thank you, sir, for your service. Po-po is an honorable profession. Retired DoD. Stay busy, it's easy to get bored. I am CERT/SAR - fly with the FD and the PD. So far it is just training flights i.e. not done for a mission. Other than local festivities.
Oh wow that's a great idea, man. Some others have mentioned the rocket has done this since the drone came out but I'm pretty sure that's not correct... What do I know though? I can't even remember to put those pesky antennas up... hahaha So far I gotta say I'm loving retirement and don't see myself getting tired of it any time soon... I really appreciate your congrats and support, buddy... Thanks to you for your service as well.... I bet you have a lot of fun with the SAR training, eh? We had a drone team at our sheriff's office but I never got on board with it... I didn't want to deal with the guys in charge of it.. hahaha
lol, I like Indiana but we were in West Virginia for this video. We'll be going through Indiana though in July or August heading out to Iowa to visit Krist's family...
@WeretheRoberts cool. Let me know and maybe we can fly somewhere. ua-cam.com/video/iWXwMRkYfeo/v-deo.htmlsi=6ITWsUQ4wLUQIRFp. I think that's my best footage ever. 1080p and crank up your screen brightness
lol, thanks as always, Chris! My bet is I forget all about this next time I fly... hahaha I mean, apparently I forgot to put the antennas up again... lol
So, what happens if you take off and rise to the required 7 m (22 ft) for precision landing, then select yourself as the subject? That would definitely put the drone above the subject for a rocket. And yeah - dump the geo zones.
hahaha... I've had viewers comment on our channel here saying I'm the reason there's Geo zones to begin with because I suck... lol The weird part on this Geo zone is it's set up for an old airport that's not even in operation anymore up the river... There's a water plane area a little further up the river that could play a role in this one, but from what I found, it's not. I think a lot of these Geo zones are in place in the wrong place but then again, I could be wrong. All I know is every time I fly, I check to make sure I'm not in a controlled air space location and if I am, I get the LAANC approval before I do anything. Is that wrong? lol Regarding your suggestion of lifting up to 22 feet, that may be the magic number for this to work right... I went out for a flight yesterday and tested something similar to this but I didn't specifically go up to the 22 ft mark. All I can say is that video will be out next Sunday hopefully and I don't wanna give away the ending... hahaha
lol yea I’d say 50 years would create a little bit of a habit, eh? I only did 25 so I didn’t quite get in the habit of waking up too early because I’m having trouble getting up before 9!!! lol
I didn't see that but thanks for the heads up for sure... I'll have to pay attention to that next flight and see if it happens again... God bless, Keith! Thanks so much for watching....
hahaha.. I bet you would, man. We're back in Florida now though and I'm sure you're relieved we're back in the 70 degree weather... You can stop worrying about us now... hahaha
Got ya... That seems to be the consensus I reckon but does anyone know why DJI would make it do that? lol I still think they do this kind of stuff on purpose so they can justify their jobs in the I.T. department... hahaha Thank so much for watching and for the info... God bless!!! Kevin
hahaha... Maybe we just need to go back to the old RC remote so we don't have to worry about those stupid antennas... I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached!!! lol
It shouldn't say check your propellors, it should say check your antennae, that way you can ignore it on the screen as well as the controller cover... 😜
hahaha!! That's hilarious... I seriously think I've forgotten those antennas more often since I put that reminder on the controller than I used to before... What do you expect when I'm the pilot though? hahaha
Oh good deal.. Definitely let us know what your results are, Ben... I saw Nobbygreen released a video on something like this today and had a similar result... I'm still thinking it's a glitch but who knows? Maybe DJI has it like this for a reason... Lord knows they won't tell us... hahaha
@WeretheRoberts i had the same result as you did. I haven't had a chance to do much flying since due to rain, but that's normal at this time of year. We may even get flooded out this year. 2011 was the last devastating flood in brisbane, so we're kinda due for another big one.
lol 27 years of night shift had to seem like 45 years, I'd think. I've been making myself wake up around 830 or so or I would probably sleep past noon every day... I have to admit, I've enjoyed retirement a lot so far and don't think I'm gonna give it up any time soon... lol
hahaha... I'm gonna pretend you didnt' say that, Norm... Wait, does that have something to do with the dew point? Crap, I learned something about that when I was studying for the part 107 test but now I forgot what it said... lol Oh, I had to set my alarm Monday for a dentist appt... for some reason I scheduled a root canal for 830 in the morning!! What was I thinking?
Hi Kevin and Kristi, See, I told you you were a jeany, er jenni, ummm,,, genious! . Congratulations in solving yeti another sleutherous mustery. Nobby will be proud of you. And Kristi too! Well I am. 😁🙃
hahaha.. Happy 2025 back, buddy... And yes, I am a total slacker when it comes to those antennas... I guess that reminder is TRASH!!! lol Story of my life...
Damn. If you aren't the retired sleeping in, swing by the dealer multitasking, drone flying, problem solving man, then I just don't know who is! Us working types don't have the luxury of multi tasking, flying out back etc. One time, I tried to fly while getting a state inspection on one of our cars. It was going well, until I realized the guy who should have been inspecting, was hanging out with me talking about drones. The efficiency level of my multi-tasking went all to hell and back. I switched to single tasking ever since.
dude that's hilarious!!! Apparently I've adjusted to the retired life pretty fast, eh ? So how long were you flying the drone before you realized the inspector was distracted? Are you still trying to ge that inspection done? hahaha
Did you remember to pull out the antennas buddy 🤔. Seems that big sticky sign in your controller cover isn't working 😂. I have the same issue with forgetting to put the antennas up on my goggles n3 😂
hahahaha!!! I guess I just need to accept the fact that no matter what I do, I'll never remember those stupid antennas. Maybe I should get a Mini 3 pro and that way I wouldn't have to remember them.. lol
Thanks again, Johnny! I hope you guys are staying warm over that way.. We made it back to Florida and it's back up in the 60s and 70s now... hahaha I'm not bragging... seriously... lol
hahaha... I have to admit, even with my little reminder, I still never remember those stupid things... Good eye... lol God bless and thanks for watching!!! :)
Ha, I've been retired for a couple of years and yes, i set my alarm to go off at 9:30, exactly the time you said. I rather sleep in more, but I make myself get up so the day won't be half gone by the time I get up. Oh and $150 oil change? Whatever happened to the $20 ten minute oil changes at Jiffy Lube. Geeez.
lol... that's a pretty good point... I'd probably sleep till noon every day if I didn't make myself get up.. I don't wanna get caught up in that trick bag, eh? hahaha That $150 oil change is cheap for a diesel.. this truck takes 16 quarts. I was tricked into putting synthetic in it by a dealership in Florida and then they charged me $300 for it when they were done... I'm ok with $150 now I reckon. We did get Kristi's car done today for $25 at Grease Monkey.. hahaha I do miss the good old days though for sure.
Happy New Year 2025 and no bugs in DJI software :) I watch DJI struggle with its own bugs. I fly Mini4pro and Mini3pro. I tested Rocket on Mini3pro. After the flight the camera returns to the position it was in at takeoff. Now you can draw your own conclusions and write to DJI where they have a bug in Mini4pro :) In my opinion, it's a bug in saving the camera settings. Notice that the gimbal wants to exceed the range upwards. Error by 90, 45, or 30 degrees?
lol Happy no bugs New Year back, buddy... Do you think it's a bug in saving the camera settings on our end or is it DJI's end? I have no real solution but at least this work around worked, eh? I suppose I should've taken a step forward then I would've been in the camera view the whole time for the rocket shot, but of course I didn't think of that... lol
So basically you need Dwight above you then set that quick shot rather than setting it level with you ? So he needs to be slightly above the subject? “Florida man arrested for loitering with dodgy looking back pack” 😂😂 Great video as alway Kev 👍🏼 Dan 🇬🇧
hahaha.. I would probably make a pretty good Florida Man... He gets himself in a lot of shady positions, doesn't he? lol My take on this is exactly what you said here, but other people are saying the camera screws up when it's subject is human but it's fine when the subject is an object... I'm not 100% sold on that yet though... Time will tell but I bet by the time we get it figured out, DJI will fix it... hahaha
@@WeretheRobertsHi it’s Dan from the future, the camera doesn’t shoot up in your next video 😂 I’m having an issue with UA-cam. I didn’t know you’d replied to my comment until I opened this video again. I’ve had to do it on a couple of channels I subscribe to.
Oh wow, that's awesome! My parents moved there in '93 after I graduated (I was the youngest) so Dad would be closer to work. He worked at Bayer (Convestro now) for 35 or so years... We grew up in Hundred and my first memory is a flash flood we had when I was 2 years old where the Fire Chief (Biggy Berry) and his crew rescued us from our front porch... There's a lot of better memories though after that... hahaha.. We'll be back up in New Martinsville in June or July... Maybe send me an email and we could meet up one of these days... If you go to our homepage on a computer, you can find our email address under the about tab... Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment by the way... God bless!
I wonder how high the drone needs to be above the person for the rocket to work? If it's not working at head-hight - would it work if you were up 4 or 5 feet further and selected yourself? Oh, and for being 40... It was 40 here yesterday - but that's C not F ;) 104F Stay warm!! And as always, enjoy your videos :)
Thanks so much for watching and commenting... Um 104 degrees is way too hot for me... I like it anywhere around 60-62... maybe 65.... hahaha Regarding the height, I can't really answer your question yet because I tried something the other for a video coming out in a week or so.... You may see the answer on that video but then again you may not... hmmmmm lol
Kevin - Now that you're retired you're officially on what Jimmy Buffett called _Island Time_ so you don't need no stinkin' watch or clock as there's no place you absolutely have to be on time! But trust me, after a few years it gets even 'better'. Buffett said it best when he sang, "The days drift by, they don't have names..." This happened to me not long after I took an early retirement at 53 here in the land of the coconut -telegraph- internet. And now, at my ripe old-fart age, the month's drift by, they don't have names. Yep, time is going by so fast now I have to wear a smartwatch to tell me what year it is! 😲🤪
hahahaha... I like that analogy, man... I'm hoping I can keep myself a little bit structured so I don't sleep too late every day but other than trying to make sure I'm up before 830 or so each day, my days are wide open.. It's AWESOME!!! My dad always told me time flies by after retirement. Honestly, I can't believe I've already been retired 3 months... I know it'll be a year next week.... haha
lol... I've been honestly making myself get up around 830 every morning just so I don't sleep the day away. Daylight savings time really screws me up... I have noticed we've been staying up pretty late since I retired though. I used to be ready for bed at 9 every night but now midnight is about right. Wonder when that will change... hahaha
hahaha... I'm still trying to figure out what the point of this channel is... Thanks for watching though and for the support.. Maybe one of these days I'll get it right... lol God bless!!!!
I feel like DJI is getting too comofortable with not supporting the older models. And I am pretty sure I wont be buying DJI again until they get their acts together.
That's a great point, buddy. I have a couple Mini 2 drones we fly for videos and stuff on our channel and when they came out with the Mini 4K and didn't try to hide it was a Mini 2 in disguise, I knew the Mini 2 was forgotten... lol Yea, I used to be a detective.. hahaha DJI has too many new models coming out to quickly for me to keep up with and apparently they can't keep up with themselves either, eh?
Retirement?? you too young to be retired haha. I got another 6 years left yet lol. strangely i has they same comment on my video. im still yet to try it out. Good job man.
hahaha.. I wish I was too young to retire but I'm old.... lol I hope you have good results with your test like we did... I wasn't sure if it would work or not but of course, our viewers know a lot more than I ever will about this stuff...
I always love these Country Bumpkin Videos of Drones. That's right my friend… You, don't know how to fly these little contraptions. It is not a remote-controlled toy car, anymore. It's a Flying Cinematic Camera Drone. Ideally, for, Professionals. Who both understand how to Fly. And know how to Produce, Cinematography, in the 21st Century called Videography, today. As our Electronic Resolution encroaches that of, Silver Oxide, Film. And all its luscious looking, Glory. But certainly not in your hands. Of Cluelessness Amateur Hour. Since you Country Bumpkins… Don't know how to read the, Instruction Manual. As it has big words in it. Such as, Altitude. Regulations. No Fly Zones. Technical Specifications. Operational Statistics. Flight Instructions. Complicated big words like that. And so Country Bumpkins, never read them. Because they don't know how to? They just want to open the box with the toy. And start playing with it. As it looks as exciting as what they have in their pants. And can extend beyond your body, by up to, over 6 miles! So you would have the largest and longest! Of anybody's robotically controlled, sexual fantasy machine. And that's what Country Bumpkins, get these, for. Because they Don't Know How To Fly, anything. They are a danger to, Aircraft. And you wonder why they have, Restricted Flying Zones, programmed in? Why can't I race airplanes at the local, civilian airport? Something ain't right here? I certainly wouldn't hit any. Right, check, gotcha, Roger that. Famous last words. And so the stupid Chinese built in, Artie Fecal Intelligence. Since most Americans no longer have any. As they voted for Donnie. Who wants to get rid of the, Bored of Edgamucation. And they are all for that and Fart with glee! In the courtroom with him. They are gas bags of Farts. If you ever learned how to operate a robotic camera you would be dangerous. You are not flying a plastic tripod with a camera on it. In other words. You want Fluidic Motion Shots that, Move the Viewer. Not jerk up. Jerk down. Tilt this way. Till that way. Drop to that altitude. Shoot, to that altitude. This is not a ride at the Weekend Carnival. But it is to Country Bumpkins. That have invested none of their time reading the instructions or that of, Photography and Movie Making, Books. Those funny things made from chopped up dead trees. And all glued together. In a book of Knowledge. That will get you started. Before you start. So you do not present yourself as a clueless hapless, jerk, here. Not knowing how to fly anything. My God man! All you needed to do was listen to the, FOO FIGHTERS. And the song Learn To Fly. Everything you need to know. Is in that, 5 minute video. You need nothing else. All the instructions are there. The technique fully demonstrated. Breathe in. Breathe out. Inhale. Exhale. That terrific, Stink Weed. And all will fall, into place. And you will learn to fly. When you follow your, FOO FIGHTERS FLYING MANUAL. Of course Taylor Hawkins, flew off, forever. And we shall all remember him, fondly. As he wanted to go join Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and all of the other hapless idiots. That OD' ed. That had to have Ultimate Fun. Because Moderate Fun. No longer extreme enough. And whoops. And Kurt Cobain was so busted up as a father of a little child with Courtney Hole of the rock group Love. Just couldn't handle the success, fame, fortune and life was horrible. In Malibu, California. Don't we know it. We all agree. We would also blow our brains out just like Kurt Cobain. Because we would not bother a psychiatrist in Beverly Hills at 3:30 AM on the phone. Right. And so Kurt Cobain would not rudely call a, psychiatrist. He took care of the problem himself. What an ass hole. Selfish ass hole. His child was unimportant to him. Fame and fortune was just intolerable. In Hollywood, California. We know, Kurt, we know. That's why we do not live in Los Angeles, California. That's why we are not rock stars. We couldn't handle it either. And so when you become a rock star. You can afford. To commit suicide, accidentally. And be proud of your deathly accomplishment. RemyRAD
hahaha... Remy, thanks for watching and I'm sorry you find our content so below your standards, but if you're gonna try to attack my roots, get it right, please.. It's West Virginia Hillbilly... I don't mind country bumpkin though... It's got a nice ring to it... hahaha And thanks for the back up, Jeff... God bless!!! :)
😂 I’m retired, been retired for 10 years now.
Don’t wear a watch or even know what day it is.
Love it!
John
yep everyday is Saturday
How do you know it's been 10 years? 😂
@@olabergvall3154
Wife told me it’s been 10 years
Retired for 12.
Yep. You're absolutely right. I've watched some videos where this procedure was done, and the Rocket worked correctly.
You can just move the drone, you needn't move.
@@BlairAir Very true. I guess because he was so close to the drone, I thought if he just took a step to either side the drone would lock on.
Maybe we could do another follow up video though, eh? lol
@@WeretheRobertssounds good!
Are you still in town, or did you leave before the snow storm? Thanks for yet another vid! I do have to set my alarm to get up at 9:30, BTW. 😂
I must've still been working or something because back then 830 was late!!! lol
Where can I get the rc2 control casing that your using?
lol I get that question pretty often. Here’s a link to the one I got on Amazon. It’s surprisingly inexpensive and it definitely helps protect the sticks in the back pack. Thanks for watching!!! God bless.

If I didn't make myself get up though, I'd probably be able to sleep till noon!!! lol
Amazing video my friend as always beautiful shots good work Beautiful place see you next video😊🌲🇮🇹👍🏻👍🏻
A guy walking behind a building with a drone and backpack will make national news. 🤣Enjoyed your video. 👍
so funny 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
hahaha... No doubt there. Right now the backpack wouldn't even be noticed...
GREAT buddy thanks for helping and sharing your knowledge happy flying❤
Awesome! Thanks for watching as always, brother... Hope you have a great 2025!
Wondering if you have the link for your drone backpack case? Thanks.
Here's a link for the Pekrews case on Amazon... I think that's the only place they sell the back packs but honestly they're not too expensive. So far, mine's held up really well... :)

@ hey thanks for the info. I'll check on that once i get a hold of my laptop. 😃
lol, you're right about that Moto G Tee... Sometimes a work around is better than a solution anyway, right? haha Jeff, thanks for letting him know about the email address by the way... We've had a busy week and I'm pretty far behind on replying to comments... All I can say is I suck!!! lol God bless you guys!
Thanks Mr Roberts! Although I've never used the rocket mode it's good to know you can solve it easy thanks to one of your subscribers!👌👊
lol thanks for watching as always, Paul...
It's really fitting for the video.... hahaha
Thats great I will try this tomorrow morning. its 10:50 pm back in India, thanks
lol, good deal. Sorry it took me a few days to get back to you here.. So how'd it go?
Nice times in Ohio. That's where I'm from. That rocket thing messed me up a couple of times but you do the rite steps it works wonderful. God bless an. Keep on flying my friend
I’m near Dayton. Where are you?
lol Ohio is pretty cool.
Oh yea, man. The sleep-in thing is a double-edged sword. hahaha!!!! I think I've seen that movie in my dreams a time or two.... lol That's hilarious!
Got the same bag. Best ever
@WeretheRoberts No , not what I meant . Simply all tech is both good and bad depending on how it is implemented by the user.
Oh, did I mention the temperature was 75 yesterday? hahaha
Good test and did solve the gimbal problem.
But instead of marking the ground take it above yourself and then mark yourself.
Then do the quickshot.
We always enjoy seeing when someone appreciates our videos and somewhat understands our weird attempts at humor... hahaha
Regarding flying recreationally, all you need to do is take the TRUST test which is free online.
Great information on this issue thank you 👍
Thanks, John! We really appreciate you watching and commenting. I would agree it's great info, but coming from us, that automatically brings it down to mediocre info.... hahaha God bless!!!
Kevin, I noticed your antenna's were not deployed. Dwight needs a good signal. Glad you got the issue fixed.
He even has a reminder on the inside of the controller cover🤦 I have a “gimbal” reminder that I ignore.
Just a suggestion, if you mark the ground then start the rocket, maybe take a couple of steps forward so you are in the centre of the camera
oh wow that's hilarious that you mentioned this.

I didn't want to deal with the guys in charge of it.. hahaha
Not all our folk (LEOs - PD, SO, and FD) would get a gold star for “Plays well with others” on their report cards. 😝
I had no idea you were in Indiana. Cool. I just worked 6 months in South Bend last summer. Loved it. Nice area.
lol, I like Indiana but we were in West Virginia for this video. We'll be going through Indiana though in July or August heading out to Iowa to visit Krist's family...
@WeretheRoberts cool. Let me know and maybe we can fly somewhere. ua-cam.com/video/iWXwMRkYfeo/v-deo.htmlsi=6ITWsUQ4wLUQIRFp. I think that's my best footage ever. 1080p and crank up your screen brightness
Great fix!!! 😃🐈⬛🐾🐝👏👏👏👍
lol, thanks as always, Chris!
All I can say is that video will be out next Sunday hopefully and I don't wanna give away the ending... hahaha
Hey Kevin, how about the antennas? 😂😂
hahaha.... Yep, I screwed that up again, Phil... I may need to put a bigger reminder on the controller... lol
I retired in June 2017, but I still wake up around 3 a.m. I just can't shake the early morning after more than 50 years of getting up for work.
lol yea I’d say 50 years would create a little bit of a habit, eh? I only did 25 so I didn’t quite get in the habit of waking up too early because I’m having trouble getting up before 9!!! lol
So I noticed you have a gimble issues I seen you propeller on the top right of screen right after warning went away
I didn't see that but thanks for the heads up for sure... I'll have to pay attention to that next flight and see if it happens again... God bless, Keith! Thanks so much for watching....
I would welcome 42 degrees right now Kevin...Ha Ha Ha. Nice test buddy. Like # 251
hahaha.. I bet you would, man. We're back in Florida now though and I'm sure you're relieved we're back in the 70 degree weather... You can stop worrying about us now... hahaha
Dear friend,
when an object is marked the gimbal does not go up, when a person is marked the gimbal goes up. Best regards!
Got ya... That seems to be the consensus I reckon but does anyone know why DJI would make it do that? lol I still think they do this kind of stuff on purpose so they can justify their jobs in the I.T. department... hahaha Thank so much for watching and for the info... God bless!!! Kevin
what we need is automatic antenna deployment, tryed you're ant sticker it works sometimes.
What do you expect when I'm the pilot though? hahaha
I'm definitely testing that myself.
@@WeretheRoberts it is only a minor glitch as i can still get the shot with the function.
Hi Kevin. I’ve been retired for 3 years. 27 yrs of night shift. Sleep in every morning to 10:30-11. You’re not alone.
lol 27 years of night shift had to seem like 45 years, I'd think. I've been making myself wake up around 830 or so or I would probably sleep past noon every day... I have to admit, I've enjoyed retirement a lot so far and don't think I'm gonna give it up any time soon... lol
$150 for an oil change? Are they putting gold dust in with the oil? 🙂 Nice workaround. Hopefully DJI will get on this ASAP.
lol I hear that! This truck takes 16 quarts of oil so I guess they can charge what they want to, eh? It was actually $178... hahaha
Yes, I’ve seen my breath in 50 degree weather.
No, I don’t set my alarm anymore, except for medical appointments.
Great video
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching and for your support. God bless!!! Kevin
Hi Kevin and Kristi,
See, I told you you were a jeany, er jenni, ummm,,, genious! .
Congratulations in solving yeti another sleutherous mustery.
Nobby will be proud of you. And Kristi too!
Well I am. 😁🙃
hahaha... And I would've gotten away with it, too if it wasn't for those meddling kids...
interesting as always!
Very cool. Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words. God bless!!!
Hope you have a great 2025, ps you forgot your own reminder sticker about the antennas lol
Maybe I should get a Mini 3 pro and that way I wouldn't have to remember them.. lol
nice work buddy
Thanks again, Johnny! I hope you guys are staying warm over that way.. We made it back to Florida and it's back up in the 60s and 70s now... hahaha I'm not bragging... seriously... lol
Your antennas are not up
hahaha... I have to admit, even with my little reminder, I still never remember those stupid things... Good eye... lol God bless and thanks for watching!!! :)
People love to hear themselves
lol. thanks for watching. God bless!
“Florida man arrested for loitering with dodgy looking back pack” 😂😂
Great video as alway Kev 👍🏼
Dan 🇬🇧
Time will tell but I bet by the time we get it figured out, DJI will fix it... hahaha
@@WeretheRobertsHi it’s Dan from the future, the camera doesn’t shoot up in your next video 😂
I’m having an issue with UA-cam. I didn’t know you’d replied to my comment until I opened this video again. I’ve had to do it on a couple of channels I subscribe to.
I LIVE in new Martinsville also an fly drones have an air3
I know it'll be a year next week.... haha
I wake up at four just about every morning. I like about seven hours of sleep.
lol... I've been honestly making myself get up around 830 every morning just so I don't sleep the day away. Daylight savings time really screws me up... I have noticed we've been staying up pretty late since I retired though. I used to be ready for bed at 9 every night but now midnight is about right. Wonder when that will change... hahaha
Hey Kevin, antennas😊
hahaha!!! Yep... All I can say is, "I SUCK!" lol
Maybe you should highlight you antenna note to self..lol
hahaha... Man, I just can't remember those things. I think I may as well just boycott the antennas altogether now and just give up.... lol
Never put your antennas up, once again!!! 🤪
hahaha... I think I'm gonna just flat out boycott the antennas now... I can't remember those things!!!! lol
What's the point of sticking the masking tape with the word "ANT" on it if you don't act on your own reminder ?
Watching you fly is hard to watch
hahaha.. If you think watching me fly is hard to watch, you should see me try to eat chicken wings...
Great video but not a solution. DJI needs to fix this so the subject is actually the subject
Thanks for watching and for the support... I agree DJI needs to get this fixed or maybe they should pay Moto G Tee for his work around idea... lo
Old dudes and their toys 😂
hahaha... Yea, we're just a bunch of old kids...
$150!!!! For an oil change?
hahaha... I know, man! the truck takes 16 quarts of oil so that's their justification... Kristi's car was only $25 today... lol
@ will be out later today ☺️
