Once I was graced with a deep plunge into the Passion and cried for three months straight and still sometimes do. Then I began to see so much sweet love pouring through the Vrucified Christ and it became a star. I feel the human horror of what we sinners did Our Adorable Jesus, but then I get a glimpse of the spiritual view and the love pours down.

I have really benefited from your books, I have all 5. I have gone ahead and purchased the Divine Office, the 1962 and pre 1955 ( Fr Lasance) Roman Missals. I bought “The Incredible Catholic Mass” and St Leonard’s “ The Hidden Treasure”. I’m up all hours reading, praying and learning. Thank You! My only memory of the TLM was my First Communion and not long after it was gone. Swallowed up by modernity. I’m learning the Latin Rosary which I pray at Adoration now. I feel I am on the true path. Thank you for your comment. Just to give a clarification: the Death of Our Lord in signified in the Mass by the separation of His Body and Blood, which are distinctly symbolised (and truly present) in the sacred species of the Host and the Chalice. The breaking of the Host is not a sign of His Death (as "not a bone of His shall be broken"), but is needful so a particle can be added to the Chalice which symbolises His Resurrection. Hope I have not expressed that poorly! God bless you.

Ah, I can see why that is implied. Not sure how intentional it was, as it is not an easy thing to match the Mass up one to one with the chronological course on Calvary. There is so much more going on. In any case, it is correct that when we see the Host and the Chalice, we are to think of His saving Passion; yet to know He is Risen and Ascended; that Christ in the Holy Eucharist is the same Jesus Christ reigning in Heaven. God bless.

@@kevinrhatigan5656 : this is not a short answer, and it's only a small part. The modernists in the Church have had a long-term plan to destroy the priesthood and the efficacy of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. If you have read encyclicals such as 'Pacendi Dominici Gregis' by Pope St. Pius X, you will understand that revolution is achieved incrementally. The two world wars in the 20th century brought about economic, social and spiritual upheaval, the perfect fertile ground for the modernist's seeds of dissent against all spiritual and moral authority.
In the 60s, we saw the revolution against all moral norms: legalization of contraception, divorce, followed by abortion and then so-called 'same-s-marriage'. All of these destroyed the fibre of families, the trust and charity between family members. Our Lady said to Lucia; " The decisive battle between the kingdom of Christ and Satan will be over marriage and the family."
Also in the 60s, we had Vatican II, proposing to 'open the doors and windows of the Church to the world'. Yes, the Church opened her doors, and Protestantised the Holy Mass, so that all of those who were contracepting, divorcing, aborting and in all manner of sinful relationships, would not be taught the correct teaching, in order to 'feel' welcomed. This was wrong!! Many if not all seminariand were taught to be 'pastoral' rather than tell the truth, that sin has real-life and eternal consequences.
Now we're at the point where upcoming 'Synod on Synodality' will be proposing that women become priests, that people in various types of irregular and manifestly sinful relationships will not be refused Holy Communion. This is NOT the Church that Our Lord Jesus Christ established! These are NOT His teachings!
So, returning to the transgender ideology question, one could made a sequential argument that the changes brought about by the Novus Ordo Mass have provided the 'spiritual slide', if you will, that might very well lead some people to be OK with a woman offering Mass, which would be totally contrary to Church teaching, which has always taught that the priest must be a male, in order to offer the sacrifice 'in persona Christi', in the person of Christ, Who was a male.
Many people will be led by blind guides to allow this type of thing to happen, wrongly thinking that 'the Church must include everyone'. Yes, the Church has always desired to include everyone, as Our Lord taught, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost'. Mt. 28:19
But all those who would like to be included must turn away from sin, repent and sin no more.

Very good attempt at answering my question. I'll point out a few things I don't clearly understand. Yes my question actually (if I could elucidate) is why the fixation on particular rubrics remaining exactly the same way pre-Vatican II? I myself believe the Mass should be the pivot of my entire existence. I personally don't know any significant/violent changes in the Mass, I'm barely above 30 years of age and only witnessed an updating of the (English) grammar in the missal some years ago (I don't think the Latin changed) and a few phrases/clauses being added - beato Ioseph eius Sponso - all of which make sense to me. I don't see any old vs new Mass per se. My question is essentially is are you saying the new Mass is no longer THE MASS?
How is Moses the 'highest point of man's openness' to God and at the same time be a preparation for the perfect sacrifice to come afterward?
How does a (violent/sudden) change in the liturgy amount to a change in human nature, you said man becomes a new kind of being? You are saying that since human nature doesn't change then we can't make changes to the liturgy, that appears to be the basis for insisting on maintaining the pre-Vatican II patterns cos you seem to think that these changes amount to people starting to walk on their hands instead of on their feet. I think that the changes have to do with things like serving your guests Pepsi instead a Fanta, you served your guest a soda all the same, you performed the customary gesture irrespective.
Of course at this point I'd like to know what changes are regarded as 'violent' and why? Just a list of them please (I'm not disposed to starting any new books, I already have a lot of unfinished books).
For clarity sakes I'd want to know what you consider the marks of the Holy Spirit's guidance or influence? If one were to condemn Vatican II's changes as being utterly human and probably diabolical then you have to show that it is completely lacking in every mark of the influence of the Holy Spirit. That would imply that you have to also show that what came before had no human element in it and could not have been imperfect in any way.
Lastly, you know when Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man and not the other way round, I'd like to think of Him addressing this kind of issues and saying to us that the rubrics were made for us, we were not made for the rubrics. He was addressing this sort of fixation on particular wordings of particular prayers, on particular gestures and postures. Not that these wordings or gestures are now wrong but the fixation on them is wrong. I see no reason why the "old" would be fighting the "new". They have both produced fruits of holiness and sanctity over the years. God's hands are not bound to any particular rubrics or gestures. You could just as well recite all the wonderful prayers and follow precisely all the 'old' gestures without putting a single bit of your soul into it while you could pour all your soul into a wordless groan unto the heavens. I perceive it could be an argument about which vehicle is the faster or more officient one at lifting the soul to God, which to me is not very relevant (and shouldn't cause a schism) as long as we all arrive at God whatever the nature or duration or length of the route. So my question here would be, how definitely sure are you that the 'new' is clearly not leading souls to God?
Alas, all this happens because we're humans, we'll always have misunderstandings and fights over stuffs, maybe when we all meet in heaven we'll all have a healthy laugh over it all.😂

    • @ScriptureandTraditionFrJM
      @ScriptureandTraditionFrJM  10 місяців тому +2

If you compare the texts and rubrics of the Old Mass and New Mass side by side, you will see numerous parts were ripped out.
For you question about Moses, I hope it is obvious from what follows (searching the transcript shows at least two mentions -- about 3:44 and 5:56) that the revelation made to him was a preparation for Jesus, Whose Incarnation and Resurrection are the greatest events to have occurred in history.
You rightly write that I said human nature does not change. No, it does not. Yet Vatican II suffered from a strange optimism, as if modern man had somehow become better than his forbears. This error works its way into the New Mass by the removal of so many references to sin, penance, contrition etc, as if these are out-dated or no longer needed. This is absurd.
For 'violent' changes consider the wreckovation of sanctuaries to make them fit for a wreckovated Missal. You say you do not wish to read a book about it. That's up to you. But I cannot write one here (already written "Crucifixion to Creation" which details many of these changes). But you don't need to worry about these things if you do not know about them. Search for Jesus, it is enough. These things will come onto your radar in God's time.
I don't know if you are serious or not, when you write things like Vatican II being "utterly human and probably diabolical"; or mentioning Pepsi and Fanta. These are your words, not mine. If you want a mark of the Holy Spirit, how about 1900 years+ of liturgical stability until the 1950s? And the liturgy is the work of God and of man, cooperating in the highest work of man. I don't understand why you write about excluding the human element.
Nobody ever denies that people can attend the TLM and yet be cold-hearted toward God. And I know many Catholics who attend the novus ordo and are better souls than I am. That is not in question. But that does not mean the rites of the Mass and its texts are irrelevant, that we can have just whatever. The traditional rites and prayers are objectively superior, immeasurably so, for reverence, depth, richness, stability. This is better for offering glory to God and for the salvation of souls. Therefore it matters.
Finally, it is your own words to say "the New is not leading souls to God". I don't know where you get so many of the ideas in your comment, whether you are trying to be provocative, or else in good faith just hearing things that are not being said, or conflating this video with things you have heard elsewhere.
All that said, I hope we meet in Heaven. God bless.

The practice in the East is to keep continent for several days before celebrating the Divine Liturgy. As it normally requires 2 or 3 hours to celebrate, an individual priest does not offer it daily. So it is possible to balance both, without disrespect for the Sacraments. Yes, the Latin practice is optimal, but the Church has long been comfortable with the Eastern way, so I have no criticism of them.

Can you address/enlighten the reality of the Catholic infighting. I started reading Bernard of Clairvaux’s sermon two of the Song of Songs titled the various meanings of the kiss which led me to look up Fernandez’s ghastly book. I wondered if he was smeared unreasonably so. I haven’t read the book all the way through the book but by a cursory read it would appear that the book is rather poetic like Clairvaux’s writings. While I despise the so called “Pope” I do not appreciate my side of the debate smearing the Truth. How does this help anything? Maybe as I read the book further I will understand. But I suspect my conservative side in the Church has played an evil card with this smear campaign. We won’t win the debate for Truth with these tactics. They are awful. Can you shed more light on this or correct me if I am wrong. Thank you father.

What St Bernard writes on the kiss is inspired. It's amazing.
I don't know about the other book, and having heard a couple of passages I don't plan to read it.
But you have a good point about infighting. Very often I hear or read something online, and you think it is slam dunk outrageous. Only later one discovers there is much more too it, and the attack was unjust, sensationalised for the joy of war (or money). Yes, we should be guarded about this, both from making unwonted attacks, as also not letting ourselves be riled up by most of what we hear, even if it sounds like a no brainer. There are genuine targets for our focussed opposition.

Poor Fernandez-he subjectively was once possibly snake bit and rejected by a woman-sadly he shouldn’t have been since he entered the priesthood at 16 years of age--I finished the book. Most of it is a lovely bottle of wine drawn from the wine flasks of Cana that is powerful medicine for married couples struggling. Shame on the right for the smear. Tucho’s poetry is bizarre in parts-a soul wounded by sin and ripe for manipulation at the highest levels. Surely a man like him would find the new mass utter Protestant kitsch and find in his heart a love affair with the Latin Mass. Has he ever said the Latin Mass? If not maybe he should.
