That bike sounds so good with the exhaust change. I find it hilarious you running the ST at the track and not getting blown away by the other bikes half the weight. Good for you.
Hello Loren!! Thank you for watching :>).... It certainly is a WONDERFUL feeling flying around the track on the ST and enjoying all that torque and speed. Hope you have a wonderful weekend :>)
Thank you for watching. I rode sports bikes back in the 80's, then went to car racing. However, once I rode this ST1300 in August of 2018, I bought it, LOL. I love my ST. I'm currently on Vancouver Island in Canada enjoying this beast. Take care ❤🤙🏍
I still find it hard to believe Honda didn’t do a complete update on this bike instead of dropping it from the lineup, I love riding my old st but a new lighter one with cruise, traction control, power modes would be awesome. I think there idea was to make the wing sportier to satisfy the sport touring riders.
Hello Ron, thanks for watching. I would buy a new ST/PAN right away,,, a new version, more power and will all the latest and greatest features like you mentioned. Imagine a 1400, lighter and with 30 more hp. I would have fun on the track too. 🤙🏍
Trust me you don’t want traction control. I work as a motorcycle courier on a VFR800. I hate the ABS brakes too. I’m saving up for an ST1300 because I want more weight on the long distance jobs, the cross winds in the Calif desert toss my 527lbs VFR so effortlessly. Every year I see high profile vehicles ( Big Rigs and motor homes flipped over by winds) Still keeping VFR for fast lane splitting duty in Los Angeles. Then again Goldwings are 800lbs. Stay safe.
@@isaiahvillarreal4512 I've taken my ST across lots of CA, AZ and UT deserts and it handles very well. You still get thrown sideways a bit but it’s way better than any other bike I've owned. None of that being slammed over or hard lean into the wind. When doing desert runs just lower the windshield and preferably don’t ride with a top box. Otherwise it’s fantastic. Good at passing trucks too. Dip in at the end of the Truck pass and you’re set.
Honda ST 1300 Pan European is a wonderful motorcycle 🏍😁 Very versatile and you also master it perfectly - respect 👍👍👍 You can fall in love with the sound... Thanks for the great video 🙏

Surprisingly good for a big heavy tourer, I did a track day on a BMW 1200rt a few years back and that surprised a lot of the lads in the fast group, they thought I was in the wrong group until I left a few of them. I've also ridden Nurburgring in Germany on a 1200gs which was also excellent. Not like the 90s though when I used to race for Mclintocks GB, on their fantastic zx7r's then their Yamaha R1's when they changed over. Happy days 👍👍 Nice riding, take care 👍
I love your story, I have been dreaming of the track at Nuremberg ring, all my family live south in Salzburg Austria, I am here in Seattle Washington and hopefully will be back to Austria soon, when I was on the racetrack the second time, (that video is Part 2), I was being laughed at, at the end of the race I ended up getting a heat stroke and almost threw up in the motorcycle trailer, I heard people asking where is the guy on the silver gold wing, I came out of the trailer laughing because I said it's not a Gold Wing it's a ST Touring bike pan European, they were at each corner as the track officials rooting me on, that was a good day for me, part 3 Video the one you just saw,, was probably my best day so far on the racetrack. Very enjoyable and very rewarding, have a wonderful weekend 🏍️🤙🏍️🤙 motorcycle hugs from Seattle🏍️🤙🏍️
Cool. Thanks for this video. I took my Blue 2004 ST1300 ABS to Pacific Raceways (SIR) for a similar "track day" way back in 2007. (Thank-you Wil Martin!) It was a lot of fun. At the safety checkout, the technical folks told me: a) the chain was missing, and b) I was probably carrying a little extra weight! And yes, the sport-bike dudes were amused; like you, I got the thumbs-up on several occasions. Very memorable day. Great bike.
Good morning John, and greetings from Renton washington. Your story put a big smile on my face, the second time I took the bike on the track (which is the video labeled Part 2),, fun day, people stared at me funny because I left my side bags on on purpose. After the race the track officials were hunting me down when I was laying down in the motorcycle trailer recovering from near heat stroke. 3 track officials came to shake my hand and it felt pretty damn good. They said they were talking to each other on the radio saying "here comes the silver goldwing", I had to let him know it's not a goldwing,,, it's a St/Pan european, LOL... hope all is well with you and have a wonderful week... 🏍️🤙🏍️🤙
Thank you for watching, I totally agree, when I was on the track June of 2019 I was laughed at, I purposely left the side bags on just for fun, end of the day I had the last laugh. 🤙🏍️🤙

Great effort! Feel you had better lines in your previous videos, but still very impressive keeping up with that lot. I have no hope of attempting that on my Pan with 120000km on the original suspension lol. She'd wobble all over the place over those bumps
Hello Richard, and happy new year. !! The lines were okay and not the greatest, the brutal part was trying to pass that yellow motorcycle the last 10 minutes. Every time I caught up to him it was on a corner, on the straight away he would get away from me but then I would catch up to him on the next turn, if I would have had another round and peg risers and a lighter bike.... Hello Geoffrey, thank you for watching. Great question. The booster plug does absolutely nothing during regular motorcycle riding except during deceleration and acceleration, otherwise 95% of the time it's useless. However on the racetrack (or during aggressive motorcycle riding) my before and after results were about an extra 5-7mph on the top speed. Prior to the booster plug, I only was able to get it to around 143 mph. After the booster plug I've been able to peak it at 152 mph. The other improvement is during “closed loop” during deceleration, as soon as you crack open the throttle there is slightly more extra fuel mixture for that little extra power, and during WIDE-OPEN-THROTTLE. Here is the link to the booster plug website, but end of the day there are small differences during regular riding and large differences during aggressive riding. Have a wonderful weekend🤙❤🏍 Install link with Booster info first few minutes of the video: ua-cam.com/video/dnfysJbFPqw/v-deo.html BEFORE and AFTER: ua-cam.com/video/4aJf6-4xJ2Q/v-deo.html
Thats one hell of a heavy bike for track racing. OK, a couple of mistakes but that happens and with a big bike like the Pan it takes some correcting. Good video. Thanks
Hello Dave, thank you for watching, yeah the mistakes I made was pretty obvious, and I made a few more that I did not put on the video 😊 it is an amazing opportunity if you ever have a chance to take your motorbike on the track, it really prepares you to learn your motorbike, it's capabilities and your capabilities. With the bike full of fuel and me at 220 lb it was 960 pounds around the track, lol, next time one of these days I will try that track with a much lighter bike. Hello Oren, thank you for watching. Next time I'm going to put my windshield brackets at a lower setting because I need a little bit of wind deflection. The wind pressure at 140 mph or 230 kph is enormous... I also installed the Superbrace two years ago. It was one of the best investments I made on the bike, it felt completely different and handles so much better through the corners and I love the stiff feeling and solid control with the brace Have a wonderful weekend. Ride safe. 🤙🏍️🤙🏍️🤙
Hello and thanks for the reply. Im considering Woolich Racing ecu flash/tune and would like to know what you think? I would be able to properly tune and lower the fan turn on temp.
@@orenkronenberg4204 great question, I am not familiar with that Flash/tune. I have looked at others but the price kept me away. I would give it a try because anything's going to help the ST1300. it likely perform better than the Booster plug. Before and after results would be great to see with the Woolich. 🤙🏍️
I’m curious how the ST handles without its panniers and top-box on the track. It might look ugly but I’m sure it’ll be more aerodynamic and lighter. Windshield way down would probably help in race position too.
@@GodzillaGoesGaga . Thank you for watching 🙋♂️. There is a HUGE difference without the top box on. Somewhere between 100MPH and 120MPH you will deal with "Pan WOBBLE" caused by the wind going around your body and then the wind slapping the sides of the top box side-by-side causing the wobble. It is super annoying and scary sometimes. The second time I went on the racetrack I left the panniers on, and there was no difference with them on. The windshield is the PUIG aftermarket windshield and I had the brackets up on the highest setting so when the windshield was down it still looked up. Since then I changed the bracket setting to the lower setting so the windshield goes a lot further down next time. If you ever have a chance to get some track time in, do it you will learn a lot about your bike that way. Have a great week ❤️🤙🏍️
Thanks. Yep, I’ve been meaning to get my bike on the track. I typically don’t ride with the top-box unless I’m touring. I’ve had my ST since new (2004) and it still performs amazingly well. Has plenty of power to pass other traffic!! I do a lot of mountain twisties and it handles it all well. I’ve also been wanting another bike but I can’t find a viable upgrade that’s justifiable (The ST does it all WELL!)! Have been to your neck of the woods many years ago and it’s beautiful (Nanaimo is where I stayed). Love Vancouver island and the Canadians I met were the best! So friendly.
Blimey you must of lost some weight scraping it’s arse along thous corners, what was it the exhausts? My wife’s getting one of these to use for work, but seeing this I think I might tune it up and think about getting one too, I couldn’t stop sitting on the edge of my seat, willing you on, what a great video, thanks 👍
Hello Manfred, and greetings from Seattle Washington, I love your message, it gave me some excitement and relived my day on the track,. Yes the motorcycle was scraping, however it was the foot pegs that were scraping. They are 1 inch too low and need to come up just a little bit more. The last 6 minutes on the track I could not catch up to a guy in the yellow motorcycle,. Every time I caught up to him it was on the straight away but I couldn't get around on the corners because the motorcycle is way too heavy. When I was scraping you may have noticed some Sparks coming up, on the back of the racetrack after the corkscrew (last 2 laps) You won't be disappointed in the Honda ST/Pan European, you can enjoy Best of both worlds. thank you so much for watching 🤙🏍️🤙🏍️
Hello Alexandr. Great to hear from you again. I've been riding on the coast of Oregon the past 2 days. I'm currently with my daughter near Salem Oregon. I think tomorrow later in the day I might go to Crater Lake 🏍️🤙🏍️🤙
Thanks for watching!!! That yellow bike was a pain in the ass to try and pass. Starting at 10:26 is when the fun started!! I would catch up, but my heavy bike and scraping pegs was not helping at all. Have a wonderful weekend ❤🤙🏍
I just bought me one of these bad boys, I was so thoroughly impressed by the test ride that I went for it right there. 2010 and damn near cherry with 18k miles. I've ridden faster bikes but man it incorporates a great touring bike with sporty *enough* power and handling to have some real fun on. I feel like it was a much better balance than the Concours 14 was, despite the fact that I was looking for more power and sport originally it just didn't compete as an overall package. I guess you can say that I didn't really know exactly what I was looking for til the ST showed me lol. Plus, can't beat a v4! So smooth and even. Don't think I'll be taking it to a track though any time soon lol.
Great story, and thank you for watching. Congratulations on your purchase you ended up with an absolutely gorgeous ST1300 with low mileage!!! . Also the cherry red is like the Ferrari red to me and it's such a good looking bike. When I bought my ST the summer of 2018 it was exciting and changed my life forever. Hence the reason this UA-cam channel has been born. Enjoy your bike, and enjoy the low maintenance cost. They don't break, knock on wood,,, change the oil on a regular basis, and your fluids and you'll have a very reliable wonderful touring bike. Have a great weekend. ❤️🤙🏍️

Great question and thank you for watching. Here is some info the first few minutes of the install video: ua-cam.com/video/dnfysJbFPqw/v-deo.html Here is the link on "How it Works": www.boosterplug.com/shop/cms-... Here is the BEFORE and AFTER results: ua-cam.com/video/4aJf6-4xJ2Q/v-deo.html Now that I have had the booster plug and have tested it for 3 years, the booster plug improves OFF idle and full throttle performance. Three is zero change while cruising because the Honda computer takes over via the O2 sensor. Some change during deliration that is noticeable. Closed throttle and full throttle is ignored by the Honda computer. So my racetrack video I've notice only more horsepower at each throttle at wide open due to the extra full rich signal. Thanks again for watching and have great weekend.
woof scary stuff! here's what I'd like to know....when you push the bike into these bends, do you lean over on the inside of the bend, do you use counter steering OR do you sit pretty much upright and let the bike lean into the bend?
Hello bigpicturestudio 🤙🏍️, you have excellent questions, when you see the video of me chasing the yellow motorcycle starting at 12:41 , it is very difficult with a heavy motorcycle, this Honda weighs 750 lb wet, I weigh 225 lb ( yes,,, I need to lose weight ☺️),, total momentum weight almost=1000 pounds.. You may notice I was struggling through the turns, to answer your question more specifically,, yes when turning you have lean your body and bike into into the turn On the straightaways keep your body straight up and try to stay aerodynamic. Through the turns slightly push with the counter turn to get more lean on the rolling axis of the tire and then enjoy the nice ride 🤙🏍️ Counter steer it cannot be fought otherwise Target type fixation will make the bike go the wrong way, you will notice in the beginning of the video I completely screwed up and was too busy staring at the tree behind the gravel that was trimmed up.. I ended up in the gravel, and was a stupid mistake... It just so happens I am currently working on target fixation and the mistakes that you can make that could kill/hurt you through a turn. I will have about 16 examples compilation coming very very soon, I'm currently on vacation in Cancun 🏖️🏖️ and when I find time hopefully I will be able to complete the video with voice over. When you have a chance absolutely take your motorcycle on a racetrack, it will teach you how to be a much much better rider,, understand the turns, understand counter steer, understand how much to lean into onthe bike, full throttle and deceleration, breaking, breaking from 150 mph with smooth downshifts are important, with smooth transition back to full throttle, very important to get some track time in it just makes you a much much better rider. 🤙🏍️🤙🏍️
Hello Tiesmans,, thank you for watching, it was a pleasure taking that heavy ST out on the track, I got a good workout LOL. it is fun though, the ST has and some good torque and top speeds, just too heavy through the turns, I needed a few more laps to see where I would end up with that yellow motorcycle I was trying to pass the last 8 minutes.. If you start the video at 14:07 you will see how hard it was I could only catch up to him before the turns but never was able to pass him. At 15:08 after the straight away I caught up to him, again at 16:56, 18:15,, traffic at 18:50 but those darn foot pegs.... Thanks again for watching, right safe.. ,🏍️🤙🏍️🤙

@@MotoTouringWorldWide Super cool watching you totally compete with these guys with the ST 1300. Every time I was in Europe, I would watch all the BMW and Honda Touring bikes ride through the ALPS. So finally I bought one after dreaming of one since 1980. I was in Kent earlier today at the Safeway buying stuff for a friend before heading to the airport. I'm currently typing to you from the Double Tree Hilton across the street from the SEATAC airport. I shipped my Honda ST to Germany 1 month ago. It will arrive the first week of November. My wife and I retired (semi-retired) and bought 1-WAY tickets to Frankfurt. Hello dave, thank you for watching, nope,, factory exhaust is gone, the first few minutes of the video I show a picture of the Delkevic exhaust. I got rid of the factory exhaust pretty much within a week when I got the bike it sounded too much like a sewing machine, lol, thanks again for watching,, cheers 🤙🏍️🤙🏍️
Good morning Alan, yes factory OEM air filter. I have been lurking on other motorcycle groups using aftermarket air filters for the bike and the feedback hasn't been all that great. if you happen to be using a k&n air filter with good or better results let me know I will give it a try. 🤙🏍️🤙
No,,, my st1300 runs the oem filter too,, along with 18" oval del's. I have a lot of experience with K&N,,, and not all of it good. My area is a sandy beach town. However even the del's alone will lean out the F/A ratio. You may be relying on the Booster plug to richen the mixture back up a bit, though ??
@@Porsche359 ,, you're correct, the booster plug is basically fills in the gap with the aftermarket exhaust. I also have the baffles removed from each exhaust. The booster mostly richens during open loop when the computer is not adjusting fuel mixture. So when you go full throttle from deceleration and then you go full throttle it has the extra fuel mixture for a short time. During closed loop when engine computer is actually watching O2 sensor readings, the booster plug has minimal effect. I like full throttle and during shifting,, so far so good.
LOL> my wife was supposed to be there that day to film me from the stands and I still give her a hard time for not being there that day 😓. She is sitting next to me right now and showed her your message LOL.... Hopefully next time for sure. Thanks for watching and happy 2024 ❤️🤙🏍️

Hello DeJaVu :>) Agreed. I had to mate, especially on the front part of the track. I was the 1000 pound silver pig on the track. Those pegs scraping didn't help either. Was super annoying. Happy days 👍👍
Nice riding, take care 👍
I'll always miss my 2005. Thanks for the musical memories!!
Thanks for watching Denny. The sound of the bike certainly is music to the ears. Have a wonderful weekend. 🏍️🤙🏍️
Great work! I think you bruised a few egos on this day!
Thank you for watching, I totally agree, when I was on the track June of 2019 I was laughed at, I purposely left the side bags on just for fun, end of the day I had the last laugh. 🤙🏍️🤙
Being an owner of this model bike in Australia, cool to see her in race mode. Thankyou for the Vlog.❤️

Curious as to how the installation of the Booster Plug altered engine tractability?
Have a wonderful weekend🤙❤🏍

Hi, great ride 👍 I’d have pulled off the windshield. I have a Super Brace on mine! Increased handling and maneuverability X10
Great videos..
Hello Marjorie, thank you for watching. Have a wonderful weekend 🤙🏍️🤙
So friendly.
nice bike !

Good job, Mike!. My congratulations to you. Your baby , like usually, biggest on raceway and between the best with results.

I don"t understand How the Booster plug provides a performance gain? Doesn't it only work just off idle and ends in cruise area?
Great question and thank you for watching. Here is some info the first few minutes of the install video: ua-cam.com/video/dnfysJbFPqw/v-deo.html
Here is the link on "How it Works": www.boosterplug.com/shop/cms-...
Here is the BEFORE and AFTER results: ua-cam.com/video/4aJf6-4xJ2Q/v-deo.html
Now that I have had the booster plug and have tested it for 3 years, the booster plug improves OFF idle and full throttle performance.
What tire pressure were you running?
Hello Jim. Thanks for watching. I started at 42psi. Hot, the tire temps peaked to around 50psi.
woof scary stuff! here's what I'd like to know....when you push the bike into these bends, do you lean over on the inside of the bend, do you use counter steering OR do you sit pretty much upright and let the bike lean into the bend?
Great
Lol the healthy reservation of overtaking someone crazy enough to race on a 1300 is showing hahahaha.
Thanks again for watching, right safe.. ,🏍️🤙🏍️🤙

OEM air filter ??
Pity someone wasn't videoing you.
