    Have loved watching your channel. As a boy I fished many of the beaches you show in your shows but after living abroad for 20 odd years I'm just getting back into UK beach fishing. I'm never going to be a match fisherman but love the fact that you show you don't need mega expensive kit to enjoy a day/night on the beach and can catch fish.

    Spam, on tackle and line scavenged from the shore , attached to a rod fashioned from a stick, with a float made from a soda bottle cap and found foam stuffed inside. (freshwater)
    But I think I'm fine with this too. '-)

    Good video . I was fishing for bass a lot this year as normal and I fill it's important for new sea anglers to know that you don't got to spend a lot of money on a set up . I use a £30 rod and reel the only thing I don't cheap out on is line and hooks. I was fishing my usual bass spot in Portsmouth and the was two ppl fishing with every name and top equipment you could name hitting the bait 150yards . I come along put my cheap rod and bait about 15yards and I could hear the comments to each other that I didint know what I was doing . 10 minutes in 7lb bass 20 minutes in 5lb bass 40 minutes in 8lb bass . My point is when you are learning read and study fish how they feed what areas they like and then turn up early at low tide to see the sea bed and look were you want your line . Expensive rods don't catch you fish experience and understanding how fish feed and hunt will

    Your comment about making sure you open the tin before heating it up Graeme. It reminded me of a fishing trip with my friends, we were all sat around a fire at night (it was quite cold) I was layed near the fire on my sleeping bag when all of a sudden there was a mighty BANG!! Sparks shot everywhere infact it blew the fire out and I was covered from head to toe in tomatoe soup (I can hear you all laughing but this was NOT funny) One of my friends had purposely placed the unopened tin in the fire hoping for the effects that I had received. I'll never trust my friends again!!

    Apparently the army trick to heating up tins is to put a dent in the side of the can then heat it up until the dent pops out then open at arms length. Don't know if it's safe and if it works with those pull lid tins. It might turn into a spagetti hand granade!

    hey guys just a question of curiosity how does rod licence/fishing licence actually work in the uk? Wanting to river fish and beach fish in South Wales but not wanting to face hefty fines, any advice??

    • @saulsmart1005
      @saulsmart1005 7 років тому +1

      ClearShotGaming you can get a day rod licence for about £4 and you will need a day ticket to fish rivers. They cost roughly £10 for pike/trout/roach etc ... a lot more for salmon. What river are you planning to fish I am from South Wales.

    • @grapeninja6381
      @grapeninja6381 7 років тому +1

      ClearShotGaming you need a rod licence to fish any venue really and it's better off that you get one to avoid a fine, you can get one online for a fairly low cost and it's free if your under 16. You don't need any additional licence to fish most beaches but you may need a ticket or a licence to fish a river (you can find this out online).

    • @clearshotgaming3614
      @clearshotgaming3614 7 років тому

      Saul Smart river Ely Cardiff Bay side, and I have heard good reviews of the bay itself too! Brilliant and what would be the long term solution for like bi-weekly fishing?

    • @clearshotgaming3614
      @clearshotgaming3614 7 років тому

      perfect im 23 so no avoiding the charges i guess :L I guess popping into a local anglers will benefit information wise too?

    • @saulsmart1005
      @saulsmart1005 7 років тому

      ClearShotGaming it's meant to be good for pike there. Heard of some monsters being caught. Dead baiting is meant to be the way foreword. I have used lures on a small deep stretch close to the marina but never had any luck. But never spent a lot of time there. Just the odd 10 mins coming in from boat fishing in the channel. There are only certain stretches you can fish close to the marina I think you get a day ticket from the leisure centre for that area.

    I love this channel, and I have for years; and I don't want to sound like a jerk, at all, and I get that using a GoPro makes it much easier to get footage, but sometimes the really warped video and sound (maybe just the mic or something in post, idk) bug me. Some times it doesn't, but some times it really does. Still, keep it up Graeme/guys, always watch you guys' content. :)

    • @TAFishing

      No,not been down for some time.I am going to make the effort to run down to Dungeness though,they always seem to get the early shore Cod run down there.I reckon another couple of weeks. I used to fish there/Folkestone/Sandgate area a fair bit in the winter years ago and reckoned springs in November and early December after a blow were Cod times. Night fishing.Hope this year is better than last for numbers of shore Cod.

    • @RickallsBushcraft01
      @RickallsBushcraft01 7 років тому

      yeah sounds good to me. i agree with Dungeness, best place i think around here for cod. dont know why, maybe warmer water from the power station or something. iv been having trouble catching much for the past year or two so iv moved onto the local lakes and been doing well with that. But im hoping in the new year to get something of the beaches around langley point, pevensey area.

    i’m all for size regulations, but trawlers have no size limits, the industry doesn’t make any sense. they throw away fish cause they it’s wrong license.
    trawlers cause more damage than us sea fishermen. it’s much harder now to catch a bass than let’s say 20 years ago
