It WON. ‘Nuff said.
At 1:19 "More Shakespearean than Hichcocknian." Absolutely brilliant analysis! I have seen a tsunami of complaints on the internet that marked Parasite as boring, predictable, and overrated. Kermode helped me understand that there is a stark, unbridgeable, and palpable divide between the intelligent and the dull. It is truly frightening.
Between Parasite and the Lighthouse, 2019 gave us two instant classics. They are easily the best movies I've seen in years. And they both shift between genres seamlessly.
Watched it two nights ago absolutely amazing cinema I was enthralled right from start to finish
It is one of the best if not the best film of the decade 2010s
Just watched Parasite and loved it. I love Mark Kermodes reviews cause he always says exactly what I could never ever articulate!!
Why did you mirror what I just said?
It really is a great film. Definitely worth a watch.
Korean films are the best.
Lets get that Best Picture Oscar win tonight Parasite! 🔥
I've waited for this for so longgg!
It's odd, there's usually a few "overrated!" comments, but here everyone agrees that it's a masterpiece, and it is.
Went in knowing absolutely nothing about the story and fell in love with it, what an amazing film!
Great film. Still prefer Burning however Parasite is flawless.
One of the best films I've ever seen. Astonishingly good, and, if you come from a similar upbringing to the Kim's, like myself, incredibly poignant
Shame 1917 is going to win the awards based solely on technical camerawork. THIS was by far the best film of those nominated. If it was set in San Fransisco and had a poor black family working for a rich white family it would be the clearest Oscar winner in years. But it's foreign, has subtitles and stars Asian people Americans don't know, so....
Im filipino and I think 1917 should win best picture.
@Tiztu well it just won. Some sense in Hollywood yet.
A perfect masterpiece 😉 Kermode saying “titanically good” is super accurate 👍
I went into this film not knowing anything other than the word of mouth saying go and see it. IT IS A DAMN NEAR PERFECT FILM!!!!!!!
Wow. I've got to see this now
Seen the black and white version.. A total different experience. I love it!
Mark gushing about this movie is all of us. I have legitimately not seen one negative review or one review complaining about anything in this movie. It IS perfect.
Saw this last Autumn. Difficult not to get caught up in the hype but I was genuinely blown away. Reminded me of when I was first getting into film and ended up watching the Criterion back catalogue and many other films. Happy days, fond memories of being younger, amazing film, ♥️ the movies sometimes 🙏🏾
The most relevant comment is advising seeing it cold. I liked it, but felt it didn't live up to the overwhelming hype.
