Just got this car as a hand me down with 75k miles. It was left sitting in the sun with the window down for 2-3 years. Now it’s my job to renovate it and get it looking and feeling like new. Perfect project car. It runs well, it’s just the aesthetics and small components I gotta fix.
@@fordmustang98guy Just bought it this week has 89000 very good shape in and out. It had new AC compressor, drier, and new water pump belt and those plastic elbows replace with metal ones. Tires and brakes are very good. Hope all goes well, I heard this is bullet proof power plant.
Putting some tint on the back window and passengers windows makes a world of difference. Boy does the sun get hot on you without it. Besides a good tint job is pretty darn cheap. It helps protect the interior and reduces the heat from the sun. Did the right away to my 2001 Regal LS.
This was my first car, the transmission and ECM slowly died for about a span of 6 moths and she finally was laid to rest a month ago. Can' t beat that GM 3.8
Bro my LS is different than yours mine is like the simple LS and yours has more stuff like the sunroof and seat heaters drag switch what model is yours ???
blank stares thanks yea unfortunately interior parts on these Century’s & Regal’s are discontinued you cannot get them at the dealership anymore you’re best bet is to find a good used part in the scrap yard
Awesome Mark, my friend has a black 99 Buick Regal and I am gonna do a video on it. My grandpa still has his maroon red 92 Buick Regal and it still runs great
I want to thank you 🙏 Mark for making this video. You are a beautiful human being because in this video you see the glass full with this beauty and not many reviewers do that. People love to complain I think 🤔 some people would complain about breathing too. This is the best review I’ve ever seen on any car I mean that you explain everything about this beautiful Buick Regal LS I’m going tomorrow to take a look at one ☝️ wish me luck all. 😎👍💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯🚘
Cell Jinx How long have you had your 2001 Malibu? Have you had any engine issues such as the intake gasket because the 3100 motor have those common issues
I have a 2002 Buick Regal supercharged I was wondering if you can let me know how to turn off those two little Amber lights on the car because everytime I turn off my car those lights stay on and they kill my battery those two little lights where the emergency lights blink at
Oh and another thing to look for on your engine are the coolant elbows. From the factory they were made of plastic. If you still have the original elbows, they’ll be on their way out soon lol. I’d suggest replacing them with The aluminum elbows
BrendenAerosmith Farr I’ve had the lower intake gasket done Valve cover too also new thermostat I think the coolant elbows got replaced too when I had it maintained when I first got the car almost 3 years ago
@@fordmustang98guy I just bought a 2002 Buick Regal Joseph Abboued edition. With only 22,000 original miles. A paid i bit more then I wanted to but it's a one owner garage kept car so I thinks it was worth it .
That is because the black key with the chip on it is the Ignition Key & the silver key opens the door manually & opens the trunk manually if the remote does not work
Dino Manta I would definitely recommend buying one but I would buy one that has no rust low mileage is definitely a bonus and the problem with these cars is the transmission just don’t drive it too hard luckily I’ve never had problems with mine but the original starter motor gave out on me a year ago & I had to change the starter I changed it twice already Last year got a new starter put in and this time I had to replace the starter again because it started grinding on me I would definitely recommend a 1997 to 2004 Buick Regal Just try and find one that’s in mint condition low mileage if that’s a bonus and it was well-maintained a lot of these Buick’s like mine not too many on the road especially here in Canada 🇨🇦 I’ve seen a couple of them in the junkyard worse shape than mine
It's definitely better than buying a Japanese import. Although their made good quality, young people nowadays tend to go hard on the gaz pedal. What's your opinion on a Regal 2010/11?
Deer John these are definitely great cars to drive every day I do recommend a 97-04 Buick Regal as a good daily driver but only common issues is that the ignition switch can go bad lower intake gasket is a common issue and the valve cover power steering pump has a slight whine which is normal on these 3800 motors I would recommend these type of Buick’s like mine but my advice is try to find one that has little to no rust & low mileage & if it had one owner that is a bonus
Hey mark I’m a big fan of your channel I just wanna say that your Buick Regal is beautiful it looks like new and I love the burgundy color I love gm vehicles especially Buick I love your videos that 3800 will get you through for a while
They separate the look from Buick’s lineup the front bumper in the middle looks like the beak of a bird for aerodynamics the column shifter the front don’t go down the shifter goes in a 90-degree angle like your grandma’s 2000 Century Custom it don’t have a tachometer
Beautiful car but the 1998-2004 regals were riddled with electrical problems. Years ago, i wanted one badly, but every single one i saw had an issue. From stuck moonroof to empty master cylinder to non working climate controls. Also, knew someone whos 1999 caught on fire.

Is your Regal a 2002?
@@fordmustang98guy yes. 2002 Regal ls. Same color as yours, except the paint is damaged and needs work.

I did get my windows tinted
Thank you for this. Just picked one up 80k miles clean $1800. Perfect daily driver!! This helped a lot

Most comfortable car I've ever had. 7 years later, I'm still comparing new cars to it. It's crazy lol
Do you own a Regal similar to mine?

great video man i love older GM cars
I honestly miss Old GM now all of these 2018 GM cars are complete garbage
yep facts lol
Mark from [fordmustang98guy] exactly man
@@fordmustang98guy lol NO
In Australia and New Zealand there are plenrty of 3800 GM cousins of these older cars getting around called Holden Commodores with rear wheel drive.

I must say I am not a fan of the chime, but it's amazing that this car still has low mileage!

You can rev up the engine from under the hood. All 3800 series 2 use throttle cables. The series 3 went to electronic throttle
BrendenAerosmith Farr I know lol I like revving it under the hood
BrendenAerosmith Farr I like the 3800 motors their strong 💪
Mark from [fordmustang98guy] oh yes they are. They are one of the best engines GM ever produced. It’s powerful, good in gas, and it’s easy to work on

Cold starting problems on GM 3800 could be due to Idle Speed Control Valve malfunction. 🦧

rick Marshall knew I wasn’t the only one I have regal gs and it caps at 120 , and he has a gs dash setup
