I'm impressed. Usually people do mother and that's it from Danzig. Somebody actually dug deeper into his catalog. And enjoyed it. Right on
Am I a Demon should be next on the Danzig train
Well said my brother. Heart of the devil rocks too
Devils plaything!
Danzig is great, it's cheesy but good. I even like a lot of his mid 90s-now shit like 6:66 Satan's child, bad production and all
@Joe Brandon yes, he was 1 of the founding members of the misfits
That drop is one of the best ever. Hits you in the face like a sledge hammer.
Absolutely right about that.
First time I heard it i grew chest hairs
Glenn Danzig doesn't get the mainstream respect he deserves for his talents as a composer and lyricist. No doubt it's because of his obsession with death, the occult, Satanism and everything dark and spooky but that stuff can still be beautiful. The first four Danzig albums are amazing! I hope you two choose some more songs from them.
I find peace in darkness oddly. But I’m a very open minded and laid back individual. I’m very amused and intrigued by all things that are dark and scary. Doesn’t make me a bad person. Makes me see both sides and actually get involved more into deeper conversations about it. Where there is dark, there is light. Where there is light there is dark.
First 2 albums are mindblowing. This album is good. After that? Pass. Misfits, Samhain then Danzig anf Lucifuge are essential.
@@jpgduff Na, Circle of Snakes is great as is 4.
I was thinking about how Misfits have always had ZERO airplay on the radio and they were selling out arenas with the Glenn Danzig reunion shows. That's pretty darn impressive.
Even less respect for the see same reason is pentagram. 20 buck spin, relentless, forever my queen ate absolute bangers
Brad got it! Glenn Danzig is an amazing poet.
Yeah, Brad gonna be a metal head yet.
He nailed it - My first time hearing them. Me likes🤟
He did write songs for Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash.
Many great bands show respect for Glenn.
Those first 4 Danzig albums are so good.
Legendary records.
Hell yeah
6 ,7 and 8 were also solid
Personally 4 is prob my fav
Danzig sings elvis, is by far his best.
@@karhunt4014 I love Danzig more than most. But that album, he dropped the ball. Still own it because I buy all his records but I’d say absolutely not his best
Damn. I forgot how much this dude sounds like Jim Morrison from The Doors,
Maybe The Doors should have recruited Glenn instead of Ian Astbury.
I have always thought he was Jim Morrison reincarnated 👍🤘
@@largemouthhunter5014 There's a conspiracy theory about Jim faking his death and becoming Rush Limbaugh, lol
So much like Jim Morrison
44
His band Samhain came before the Danzig albums, and after the Misfits
Danzig - Twist of Cain
Oh shit, y'all did my request. Now do little whip, or under her black wings. Y'all are the best reaction channel on earth.
Under Her Black Wings or Dirty Black Summer.
All of the above and Twist of Cain
Many good jams
I agree. Always open to anything. I enjoy their channel immensely
Fact checked, TRUE
Yes Brad you got it 🤘 Glenn Danzig is one the most underrated singers of all time! Check out Bodies 🔥
from 77 to 94 he did no wrong every song and every album was amazing! even the artwork he did on everything during those years were killer !
Listen to Type O Negative as well if you want some Halloween spirit.
Studio version of Black #1.
This is a must
Haunted or Wolf Moon do fit too. Explored this channel this hour - amazing. What a metamorphosis Lex went through since last summer... amazing. Trve metalhead; esp. for Halloween: Mayhem - De mysteriis domini sathanas as a live performance at Brutal Assault 2015 or so.
Type O Negative was just an album I bought on a whim. I had a feeling something said this will be good so I got it. This was back in the 90's while I was in the air force. I took it home and listened to it and just sat mesmerized by it. I was lucky enough to see them I concert before he passed. What a loss.
@@thepalequeenkitty4595 I saw Type O Negative open for Pantera in Seattle in 1996 if I remember correctly
@@byteblock1667 Austin Texas Type O Negative, Coal Chamber and The Jim Rose Circus it was lit. WOW does not cover it.
Saw Danzig in 91 at a small club in nowhere PA... brought my little brother, it was his first show. Hung with the band on the tour bus after. It was so cool seeing my little bro talking with Glenn for 20 minutes about comic books. Really good bunch of dudes.
Glenn Danzig is like The Elvis of heavy metal. Lol. He also did a lot of the songs for the hangover movies
Evil Elvis for sure with a dash of Jim Morrison (especially on this song).
@@slashtrio yeah I could agree with that
In 2020, he released a studio album of just Elvis covers.
Titled, "Danzig Sings Elvis"
@@theriomrasputin8233 yea, I did check it out. I think it would have been considerably better if he would have done it several years ago when his voice was stronger. Also the production was not so great. Interesting nonetheless but frustrating at the same time because it could have been a lot better.
@@slashtrio Agree! Sounds like he recorded it in mono also. And sang into an old metal canned microphone. I would be it was something he wanted to do forever, but was never given the green light or simply had no time to work on it. Had it done it when he was in his 30s it might have come out much better. I also wasn't a fan of the songs he selected to cover.
Him and one of the guys from Alice in Chains, were supposed to also come out with a dark blues album.
This was a great choice. You guys are starting to find the golden nuggets. Keep digging.
Yeah Metal Lex is back 🤘When that beat dropped after that long intro, man that was hard. No words to say. Loving this band so far. Great jobs guys 👍
I believe this is a play on the ancient saying,
"Whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad" (as in, drive them insane)
Which does kinda parallel what Brad was saying.
Exactly
The opening gave me some The Doors vibe, the vocals had some Morrison sound to them. IJS
Alot of Danzig songs sound like Morrison is on the microphone. Two reasons I got into this band, heavy dark half steps, and a vocalist that sounds like Morrison.
This band is what the Doors would have sounded like if they had distortion,a drummer not afraid to hit his drums, and the subtraction of that annoying" Light My Fire" keyboard.
Danzig is CRIMINALLY underrated. His entire catalogue is beyond amazing. As for his incredible singing voice, it sadly deteriorated quite rapidly by the late 90's, but his first 4 solo albums are a MUST listen.
saw him and misfits in 2015ish, Glenn still bellowed awesomely then.
So many amazing Danzig songs to experience but 100% that was the best reaction I’ve seen yet watching Lex is exactly how I feel when I listen to how the gods kill.
This entire album is a fkng MASTERPIECE. Danzig III and Danzig II both. Please keep exploring these albums 🙏. Great vid, thanks 👊
Metal meets The Doors. Cool track
Danzig's "Her Black Wings", "I'm The One", "Devil's Plaything" "Long Way Back From Hell" from the Lucifuge album are my recommendations for you.
You should check out "Can't Speak", "Dirty Black Summer", "Devil's Plaything", or "Anything" by Danzig.
Everything by Danzig then the type o negative rabbit hole
All great fucking songs! Anything is prolly my fav out of them.
I'd vote for Dirty Black Summer
Or just listen to their best album - the first one. End of Time smashes all those songs.
Dirty black summer is lit asf
I love how Lex got that stank face off of that riffage. Same girl, same.
Danzig is the nicest band in the world. His whole CD’s are valid 1-10. Nothing like that. The band is powerful and is a true honest vibe. Lex you’re beautiful. Lucky, BRAD!😁
Danzig net worth is only 6.4 million, while James Hatfield of Metallica has a net worth of 340 million dollars, so Danzig is way at the lower end...
@@timlenard1646 what does that prove? are you one of those morons that values music through how much money they made?
Danzig did more musically with the misfits and samhain than metallica has and thats not even counting Danzig . Danzig put out 7 Bangers out of 10 albums while metallica had 4 . They were good for less than 10 years .
I think Glenn Danzig is the metal reincarnation of Jim Morrison of The Doors, His vocals and poetic lyrics!! Definitely Jim Morrison vibes!! More" DOORZIG" please! hehe!
Brad you got this breakdown correctly.. You 2 are the very best to watch. I can't believe you haven't reacted to "Eulogy" by Tool. I think because you have taken requests by young Tool fans.
When it dropped it hit Lex right in the feels. One of the nastiest riffs ever. Maybe my favorite Danzig tune.
NOW THIS IS DANZIG!
So glad you did this song.
I think Brad's analysis of the meaning of this one is pretty spot on.
He got it that you can't untie the noose if you don't work your own self. And by "work" I mean spiritually. By the way, the "noose" is a term used in eastern spiritual traditions.
Thanks too much Couple. Every Danzig fan gets emotional in this react!
She rides and heart of the devil from Danzig are fire. His vocals are a whole mood
“Good vibes” ha. Well more like evil vibes. You know Danzig is singing about some dark occult stuff here. I think this is one his best songs. It’s just a beautifully haunting song. He was probably at the peak of his vocal power at this time. Channeling some Jim Morrison big time. I think most fans know / recognize how much he was obviously influenced by Elvis and the Doors. His voice was at times beautiful and at other times he howls like a wolf man ha. Classic song.
Try “Dirty Black Summer” next.
“More like evil vibes” - 🤓
Dirty Black Summer is terrible. Cliché as fuck. End of Time from.Danzig...
And he's was influence more by Roy Orbison than Morrison.
Wow!
I got so much pleasure from seeing your reactions to Danzig.
Much love to you guys 🙂
I’ve been hearing This song for decades and I’m not tired of it at all.
Brad nailed it on the head.
I’d love to hear you react to I’m the One by Danzig. One of my favorite songs.
I love playing guitar and singing that one all the time. I go a little deeper with the vocals though
YES!
DANZIG, was always playing in the 80's and early 90's. Check out "Her Black Wings"
Danzig first four solo albums were bluesy as hell and amazing...... very soulful
I was 18 when this album dropped. Summer of ‘92. Saw this tour in December ‘92 at The TLA in Philly (Kyuss opened the show )!
For me, the zenith of the original 4 and by far, my favorite Danzig album.
The song is 'poetry' (Right on, Brad) as in all / most of Danzig's lyrics; He will go down in rock/punk musical history as one of the greats !!!
I saw him on that tour on Halloween in '92 at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Irvine, CA. He recorded & filmed that performance. The opening act was White Zombie. Such a phenomenal performance
Great reaction again... these two really balance eachother... great channel!!
Danzig - She Rides
Parkway Drive - Wishing Wells
Metal Church - Anthem To The Estranged
I feel lex knows all these hard metal songs and just waits for brads reaction. Love it!!
Brad's insight is such a great take I've never considered. My name is also Brad. Love the channel!
Amazing live band, saw them opening for Slayer in LA, and became a big fan, saw them again with White Zombie, for the Halloween show, that they used for the Mother video, and again with Soundgarden opening for them
Saw them when they opened for Metallica in Buffalo years ago. Unbelievable live
I can't believe I didn't watch your channel sooner! You guys don't just look at one song from an artist, you actually listen to numerous songs, that's the only way to do it! Thank goodness!
This is my favorite Danzig song... Check out Twist of Cain... And Black Aria on loop on Halloween night.
This was a pleasant surprise reaction ! Awesome !
By far the most obscure Doors song.
I still contend that Jim faked his death, hit the gym and changed his name to Glenn.
@@Zundfolge 🤔
@@Zundfolge and shrunk a few inches in height also😅🍻
Hahahahahaha
Misfits and Samhain for life! Glenn Danzig’s catalogue is crazy!
Glenn Danzig is one of the Greatest Rock singing voices of All Time..
So badass....always loved this.
Well done Brad!
Yoo!! I got so happy when I saw you guys posted this!! Glad I wasn't the only who requested it! This song has a lot of meaning, well the whole album really, cuz it awakened me to seeing the bs I was surrounded by. That being brought up Christian and realizing it wasn't for, and really never was for me. Thanks for bringing the nostalgia back! 🖤
Thats how great music is, it builds to the drop and builds on the drop after
John Christ was/is one of thee most underated guitar player in early 90's metal...That dirty dirty southerm blues tone sooo good.
I saw Danzig in concert on this tour and the tour before this one. Great concerts. Very primal.
rick Rubin is a mad scientist, truly a masterpiece of a song
yessss Lex with ACDC Horns ...... Rock on Lex
Favorite Danzig song is ,”Her Black Wings.”
this song is one of danzigs best songs. dirty black summer is another good one
This is a freaking great piece of masterful art by Glen Danzig 👍👍
Great song. My first real tattoo I got when I was 16 back in 92 is my Danzig cross and skull.
I think it's awesome that you guys are doing this song, alot of people don't even know about Danzig, this is my favorite Danzig song, it rocks
This is my favorite band, you gotta check out Bodies and When the darkness calls. Two of my favorite songs by Danzig.
*when the dying calls
@Brad With rock and metal you can't be wrong about the lyrics and/or meaning of a song. It's art and what ever thoughts and emotions it evokes for you personally is the right meaning.
I love how into this lex is. Great song
Somebody’s in the Halloween spirit
Gotta love the snarl at 3:32! You got that feeling just right Lex 🤘🏼😝🤘🏼
Fresh to the ears and I say YES!!!
Great analogy Brad with a CAPITAL B.............most people will not dig. Huge Danzig fan here, and I think your spot on. That's what I always felt from the song. While some people find it depressive, I think it slaps hard enough to get you out of that dark place....Lex was rocking out too!!!! Like always. I love you all....just discovered the channel. Great stuff. Stay Genre fluid for life!!!
Danzig 3 the production is so good. Love the drums being so upfront in the mix. Everything is a dirge.
Guitarist John Christ's frequent use of the pinch harmonic is his trademark. He uses it in tons of Danzig songs, but it's really heavy here.
Lex has officially crossed over to the dark side. Welcome.
Love some Danzig since the late 80’s because my older sister listened to him
great song and reaction
Listen to Danzig - Killer Wolf. Glenn Danzig looks so angry on this one
My favorite Danzig song.
How gods kill - a good analysis they leave you to yourself ( the noose) .
I've never thought about that, the line "show me how the gods kill" was always a puzzle to me
Beautiful
You might like the song "Under her black wings". That's coming from a 45 year old guy that used to swing on a swing set listening to Danzig haha.
Apparently I missed a lot of great songs on this channel somehow even having been subbed a whole year - the first 3 Danzig albums were in my ears almost as much as Zeppelin, the Pixies, and the Doors in high school.
Cantspeak, Going Down To Die, I Don't Mind The Pain by Danzig. Great songs! Good reaction.
Great reaction from both of you
I hadn't realized how much the opening of Celtic Frost's "A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh" was fairly similar to the intro of Danzig's "How The Gods Kill" until I heard it again. ^__^
This went exactly how I thought it was going to love the song love you guys
Danzig is the GOAT of heavy music. Danzig 1-4 are masterpieces.
Glenn Danzig is a masterpiece
Crazy Lex. Love the reaction.
Great song and reaction! Lex was born to wear those horns!🤘
The best reactions ever. I love this channel!
"Finally" - excellent reaction!
Devils plaything is another awesome song of his
Dan Danzig sings so well.such a badass
I love your energy guys! And I'm happy to see that you've been discovering one of my favorite bands.
Glenn Danzig often writes biblical lyrics inspired by Milton's "Paradise Lost" (where the depiction of Lucifer as charismatic and misunderstood character first came about) and his lyrics can sometimes be very poetic.
Such an underrated song and album.
First time I saw Danzig (2000), they didn’t play it and I couldn’t believe it. To me it was the same as if they wouldn’t have played mother and I care less for mother.
Astute analysis from Brad on this one! I love watching Lex on these Danzig reactions. Really cute and looks like she's genuinely enjoying herself. Brad drops that analysis and she's like "WUH!?! No way!" You two are good at this! These are good reaction videos.
I absolutely love you lex! I love your energy
This song is undoubtedly amazing
