    I've been wearing the Transitions XTRActive Brown with the Gold Style Mirrors since Jan '24 and I'll like them a lot.

    Hello, thanks for your amazing work and all the information you’ve been sharing with us. I was wondering if you could make a complete video comparing the New Gen S vs. the XTRActive Mirrors New Gen. Thank you so much in advance.

    Love the gold on your glasses. One question. For me , mirror lenses indoors pics up all the ceiling lights and makes lots of spots(light reflections). Would you say these transitions are any better at maybe minimizing this effect?

    • @HicksBrunsonEyewear
      @HicksBrunsonEyewear  2 місяці тому

      That is the one thing I may have missed in this review. Any time you have a clear lens with a mirror on the front surface, you will pickup additional reflections that would not normally be there on a clear lens without a mirror.

    Hey dude, Great video! Tell me, can you do a custom, Brown top 50% and rose bottom 30% with the transition xtraactive gold flash? Cheers

    • @HicksBrunsonEyewear
      @HicksBrunsonEyewear  2 місяці тому

      Yes, you can although I would not recommend as dark as 50% on a base tint. When the Transitions reaches full darkness, the net total darkness might be too dark to clearly see safely. The max darkness I would recommend for the base tint would be about 35% or maybe 40%.

    If I sent in a pair of prescription heatwaves, would you be able to put a heavy blue tent on it for me?

      From a quick Google search that frame look like a large shield. If that is the case then that is a frame I can not create a custom lens for, unless I am looking at the wrong frame. Please provide more info. Is Heatwave the brand or the frame model name?

      @HicksBrunsonEyewear heatwave is the brand name, and the model is called the Vise XL. But honestly I love the frames you have on in the video as well. They look really sharp, what brand and model are they if you don't mind me asking?

    Question! I was extractive lenses but I want the best anti glare coating as well! What would you recommend. Is an extractive crizal sapphire lense possible ?

      Yes it is! See this video for an example: ua-cam.com/video/gTKnuXqoYTE/v-deo.htmlsi=c_4Vbddn1AK7e4J8

    Are these considered flash mirrors or solid mirrors? I had a pair of Transitions Xtractive Style Mirrors made and the mirror effects were nowhere near as strong as in your video. When I brought this up I was told it was because the coatings were created with with flash mirrors, and they would change them to solid mirrors, which I did not know could be done with photochromic lenses. Could you please clarify? Thanks!

    • @HicksBrunsonEyewear
      @HicksBrunsonEyewear  Місяць тому

      These are flash mirrors, and that is what you want for a photochromic. I have experimented with solid mirrors, and the results were not good. It will change the color of the lens from your perception looking through it. I show this in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/Ag29dB3G8vM/v-deo.htmlsi=q6454JbFuz4MUvNH

      Nice thought! Actually there is a red mirror, but we'll have to save that for another video.

    Beware ! Sadly he didn't mention the awful reflections that impede your vision which for me are very annoying.

      Hello John, That is an important point, and I should have emphasized it more in this video. I briefly mentioned the indoor reflection at about 1:52 and I also linked to my other video where I go into more detail on that issue. It is here:

      @@HicksBrunsonEyewear To be fair the reflections at the front side are expected, also at the back side on the outer side of the lenses, the awful part are the reflections at the center of the tenses (back side) that worsen my vision, and its not only reflections there is "blum"/glow from lights...if I had a second chance I would buy XtraActive again (beware the slight tint that its always on, its never rly clear, I don't mind and since its my 2nd pair and I like it) with no mirror and I would consider either polarized and/or some layer with AR filter that protect from scratches too, BTW crizal rock is it a good layer?
