I bought the OH10 OG two years ago mainly based on your review. I own the MP145 as well now and its good to see that choice gets your approval. I agree with your assessment!
How are these from a live performance standpoint? I always thought IEM's are for live music monitoring + sound isolation to replace traditional floor monitors yet every review I see of these are directed to the audiophile wanting them for casual music listening.
I don't think these are an IEM I would choose for monitoring as they're quite strongly coloured/emphasised in some frequencies. I'd probably look for something a little more balanced sounding as a monitor. I can't think of one at this price off the top of my head, but maybe the Tigerism Helianthus, See Audio Neko or even Meze Alba. IEMs began as a stage monitoring option, but the audiophile side soon took over in terms of market size, I think.
@@PassionforSound I ended up settling for some KZ ZS10 X Pros with an upgraded cable, and will upgrade later on if necessary. I play bass but I needed a flat basis tone wise so I can accurately judge where I am in the mix. So yeah these Ikkos might not suit what I need. Thanks for the input! I'm a bit hesitant on this Chi-Fi market segment though. The plethora of super cheap IEMS from questionable websites like AliExpres and ghost brands on amazon just scream cheap sweatshop products but apparently these I ordered are decent enough for the frequency my band rehearses (once a week) and plays out (every few months).
My viewpoint is that newer isn’t always better so I would appreciate if at some point you make comparisons against iem’s like the 7Hz Timeless and the Moondrop Kato. These are two popular ones that I think have held up well over time. I have better, more expensive iem’s than these two but it is fascinating how well they hold up in comparison.
Ah, they're a long term brand to. They chose to produce the IEM via Kickstarter, but have been making excellent digital audio players and dongles for ages.
Hello all I’m looking at buying the Kiwi Ears Orchestra Lite, I’ve heard you recommend certain earbuds more but the blessing 3 is ~$75 more at the moment and I think that might be a bit out of my price range. Besides the 4 IEMs in this series (all seem to be fairly hard to come buy from a retailer that won’t make me pay massive duty fees) are there any others around the $300 CAD or $220USDish price point I should look at? Moondrop products seem to be marked up a decent amount in Canada, are there perhaps any North American brands with good entries around this price? I’d love to hear from anyone buying at this price point.
@@PassionforSound that’s fair, have you heard any of the lower end Campfire Audio stuff like the IO? Because it’ll end up being a solid $70 cheaper than a Blessing 3 or about the same as an Orchestra Lite where as in Australia I believe the CFA IEMs are quite a bit more expensive compared to chi-fi stuff. I’m curious to see how the Quintet compares, I’ve heard nothing but great things about every Kiwi Ears IEM, I have the Cadenza’s and they’re pretty amazing for the price.
@@PassionforSound that’s quite alright. I heard the Andromedas (2020) last year and they were pretty amazing. I’m tempted to just go all out and buy the Campfire Holocene as they’re pretty similar tuning for a cheaper price. I heard some people complain about the treble on the Andromedas but it didn’t bother me at all and the mids were pretty much perfectly tuned to my ears. Decisions decisions… maybe I’ll look at Meze next. Thanks for always taking the time to respond

So interested to see what you think of the Quintets, which I absolutely LOVE. Bright expansive sound with razor sharp imaging. I really enjoy them.

I was watching Knowle prices. Ba drivers can go from 8 dollars a unit to 200 dollars. I guess the drivers quality makes a difference

The Orchestra is a lovely IEM. I'm afraid I don't know how each brand/retailer prices each model in Canada so it's hard for me to assist
